It was a supreme gift of Almighty for the people like us that we could here the music sung by these ligendary brothers ustad Nazakat Ali and ustad Salamat Ali. Ustad Nazakat Ali had the sence and understanding of the mood of his younger brother, Ustad Salamat Ali who was the pivotal singer. I witnessed the hight these two brothers used to achieve the devine level while rendering the clasical beauty of music, unbelievable. I am sorry to express that after these brothers unfortunately departed, their music did not acheive that hight. I have no hesitation to express that they could not achieve the hight which Ustad Bade Gulamali Khan in Thumri singing but in kheyal, these brothers excelled from other musicians. Tan of Ustad Salamat Ali is unparallel.

From my school age (long ago), I loved to listen to these legendary brothers. Ustad Salamat Ali Khan (1934, Shamchaurasi, Punjab - 2001) Nazakat Ali Khan (1932 - 1983). They were true Sufi. Left behind so precious for us.

many great masters say that the rendition of raag bhoop in its pure form is very difficult for there is a host of raags like bhopali, shudh bhupali, bhup kalyan, deskar, shuddha bibhaas, jait kalian, kalawati yaman, auduv deogiri, ashwini bilawaal, and sometimes raag pahadi that use the same notes and same tones. with my limited practical knowledge of the raag, I would say that the great duo rendered the raag bhupaali extremely well projecting artistic, technical and aesthetic finesse of the raag adhering to the mood of the melody and the bandish. I learnt from their recital that 1) the raag bhoop gets revealed well basically in the ascending movement (aarohi kram) which washes away the effect of raag shuddha kalyaan with no trace of charhi ma and charhi ni; and 2) on repeated application of note ga. their recital is highly captivating and interesting from beginning to end.

this ms takes one into TRANCE one is quiet, starts praying. To me this is d real purpose of ms.It connects one to d ms inside which is emanating 24 hrs by d grace of almighty so say saints!. These r very very special souls sent for this purpose. one can confirm also by d way these ustaads( Khan sahib Nazakat & Salamat ali ) lived their lives,without worldly grandeur. Humble to d core. This ms cannot be produced otherwise ,never will come anyone like them,that's true art!! can't be copied like Rembrandt ,Salvador Dali ,Motzart,Bach & others. Have been listening to them from my childhood. They truly pray thru musical notes. Many many thanks fr uploading.

Everything from the Kalyan thaat, particularly the queen herself Yaman, could also contend for that title.

This rendition of bhupali will wash away one's grudge, sadness, jealousy or any other negetive feelings. A pure bliss. The best rendition i heard of bhupali is this one and the one by smt.kishori amonkar tayi.
Shukriya Wajid Sahib. I was fortunate to hear them live at the Karachi Arts Council a long time ago. They were mesmerizing! One of my fondest memories.
I wished the bilambit were longer. The serene concentration that the singers build up in the slow kheyal is not sustained in the fast acrobatics of the Tarana. Technical virtuosity is not the final word in our classical music.
