Jesudasji is singing in both Hindustani and Carnatic style. His Vatapi Gsnapathim is very popular. Vani Jayaram Madam was also singing in both styles. Now Kaushiki Madam is also singing. Very nice.
I was never very fond of this Carnatic style of classical music as i find this heavily formatted, structured, grammatical & with limited scope to touch the vastness while expanding with raag & its bandish etc but somehow loved this rendition. This probably how the magical touch of a genius musician like revered beloved Kaushiki ji can do even within the limits of this genre. For me it's the other way around. I really dislike Hindustani and find Carnatic to be more melodious. It's the same in Jazz for me. I liken Hindustani to Free Jazz and Carnatic to Swing. I prefer Swing.
I started out learning carnatic music in my younger days and have learnt for many years and I can definitely say that kaushikiji singing a muthuswamy dikshithar krithi( muthuswamy dikshithar is one of the trinities of carnatic music. The other two are Tyagaraja and Shyama Shastri) is definitely very pleasant to listen.
Madam This is different rendition hearing from you. Actually I was expecting this from you. Can you please sing Kurai ondrum illai and Venkatachala nilayam song from Carnatic. I am from Chennai and your great fan. What a sweet and beautiful voice! Soul touching.

Instead of having to listen to an intricately structured musical performance as just 'beautiful melody,' if the common man can get a basic overview what to watch out for, i think the overall appreciation n welcome of Indian classical music will greatly increase. (Maybe a creative method to orient the average person to pick up the threads in a rich concert. With a lil help, ppl do catch on). The swings n octaves were phenomenal, dearest Kaushiki ji!
This hamsadhwani is Dr Mangalampalli's baani, so some letters not correct pronownciation,this is pakka karnataka classical stail,but kawshikiji is pakka Hindustani classical.so diffrence is comming.
