“Vanshi Madhur Bajawe” (वंशी मधुर बजावे) is based on Raag Kafi, thaat Kafi. Raag Kafi is the principal raag of its thaat. The hymn is in ‘Tri Taal’ or ‘Teen Taal’.
Vansi Madhura Bajawe starts at 7th beat (Sthaai part) and Antara starts at 9th. So, this is little bit tricky.

Type of raag Kafi is Sampurna-Sampurna. In the Aroha/Ascent and Avaroha /Descent all notes are shuddha except the note ‘E’ and ‘B’.
So the Aroha and Avaroha is as follows:

Pakad: Sa-Sa, Re-Re, Ga- Ga, Ma-Ma, Pa
(C-C, D-D, D#-D#, F-F, G)
Note: The ‘Pakad’ is different in different books but the basic is the same. The notes are same.
Vadi note is G and Samvadi note is C.
