Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan is an Indian classical sitar player from Imdadkhani Gharana. He belongs to the seventh generation of Etawah Gharana. Shahid Parvez has performed in all major music festivals in India or abroad. Shahid Parvez also got vocal and Surbahar(sometimes called bass sitar) training from his uncle Ustad Hafeez Khan. He also received training in tabla for many years from Ustad Munnu Khan of the Delhi Gharana.
Raag Piloo is a light raag, raag of "shaant ras" and hence apt for Thumri and Bhajans and is full of devotion and piety. Since the structure of the raga is left to the artist's style and interpretation, it is sometimes referred to as Mishra Pilu ("mixed version of Pilu") which incorporates not only the main notes but grace notes. The mood of this raag is Bhakti and Ebullience of folk love. Raag Pilu is generally played between 12pm and 3pm i.e. "Tritiya Prahar" (Third part) of the day.
