this is purely Genius!!!!..............insane singing........ the video comprises Bada Khyal followed by a chota Khyal then followed by a small tarana in Yaman... this was sung by the maestro in a concert in 1965....
It was in August 1964. I was travelling from Calcutta to Bombay. Two days prior Anna had a programme in Culcutta which has some how not gone well. As the train was about to leave suddenly Anna entered our compartment followed by a person working with me. He introduced us briefly . After the train started Anna suddenly said and I quote I am sorry the other night I let all of you down, Do you want to listen now and started singing without any accompanyment. I am a Kansen and was dumbfounded. He sang for about 45/50 minutes. I will never forget that evening . A down to earth Great Humanbeing.
Sunil Khanna . Very well chosen photo, dad. Bright lights, big city and some shopping too...merry Christmas and hope the new year brings a fresh start healthwise and otherwise🎉🍾🎄🍷Cheers nsdl.co.in/value/general

Each note ...each sound rides on the river of reaching and yearning.... recalling the ancient souls who have gone before and those who journey with us today...each one born and reborn in an endless eternity
i remember watching him and listening him standing on the wood frames of a hall in Mangalore, for continuously 3 hours.. that was complete bliss ! cannot forget that day !
All listeners who heard and saw him live are god gifted. I proudly state that I joined to attend his concerts since 1967 and still I am blissed to hear this heavenly voice , by courtsey you tube .👌
i m a teenager and I feel very misfortunate being lately arrived in this world when such great maestro's had gone.i find very few people of my age who like classical and those who have disliked this rendering are fools.
John Lory you are right. I am 12 years old, and learning khayal gayiki(vilambit, madhya laya and drut from four years. People mostly don't like and understand the classical music. Disliking this video is like insulting the God you have put your faith in. The things that those godly artists perform are earned at a cost of a lifetime.
Son,you are blessed to have a liking for such music-specially of panditji. Remember this is the greatest treasure which will enrich your life till eternity.Stay blessed.
This is a true Gem, Mark his pitch,Panditji in the 60's used to sing in this higher pitch. Also this is a rare cheeze of Yaman, not heard often plus the Tarana at the end. Absolute jewel, thanks Abhishek for uploading this. If you have some from this era, 60's, kindly post.
47:11 This maybe the best the best taan of his career, he has longer taans, faster taans, but not as long and super fast with clear gamak and intonation.
Abhishekji you are doing wonderful job . thous who do not having interest in classical music are really unfortunate.give us more such old recording of other legend s
I had heard that Joshiji was against recording because of possible mindless listening with no attention to place and situation. But listening to such divine treats, one is thankful to such platforms that are freely available especially because of lack of alternative playing options as other ordinary instruments as cassettes, cd's etc are no longer available.
SHARADCHANDRA PHATAK this is the best yaman sung by anybody on earth....basketful thanks for uploading this..could pl upload BJ'S LIVE PROGRAMS sung before 1960...again.thanks for uploading this......
Harsh Vardhan Ji I experienced it without the head phones. Probably I was just about 9y when this was recorded I have been listening to him ever since his programs used to come on the Saturday Evening All India Radio Sangeet Sammelan probably from the age of 7years. Saw him in person for the first time at the IIT Powai Swaranjali Sangeet Sabha.
mon dalvi Those who do not understand marvellous structure of the notes dislike it. In no way does it affect the reputation of either the art or the artist of the unparalleled caliber like the Great Maestro Pt. Bhimsen Joshi
