@@scroingus2279 someone asked that awhile back. I did, but didn't like it. My dog would bump it and it would not go back to centre, if I was flying I would be in the ground before working out what it was. If you only fly helicopters it would be ok, but there is no feedback unfortunately.
Nice video Ron. I adapted a joystick in similar way recently but I find that adjusting the sensitivity is problematic. Due to extending the cyclic length it requires further directional travel and not really what i hoped for. Any suggestions for improvement? Such as advice for cyclic sensitivity settings or adjusting the axis 'curves'? Thanks in advance.
@@Ron_A._BoltonMay I ask how much different does it feel from the original version. I would imagine that the weight added by the extensions may make it more loose as shown in the video, but does accuracy actually improve? Is there really a substantial precise movement difference Also I would like to make you the suggestion of 3d printing a round bearing to sit on top of the spring, there's a video on it, I will try it out since it makes the stick stay in place, which would be the cherry on the top for this set-up, just a thought. Anyway, let me know!
@@DonJuan247 sure, please send the link. The fine accuracy is definitely better with the longer stick, so you can input finer movements, still only move the stick small ammounts, very close to the feel of a real cyclic, but without the feedback. Still makes landing a lot better and more accurate.

@@DonJuan247 I watched, thanks, I had one installed before, but put it back to normal, it slips outside the dead zone and kicks the ap off, if my dog comes in and bumps the stick when I'm not using it, I would find myself in the ground before I knew what was happening. If it works for you then all good.

It will increase the wear of parts due to the extra force applied via lever physics. BUUUUUT it is a precision equipment. You're supposed to use it in a gentle way and never swing it wildly. It should be fine for many years. I'll just do the same really. Neat project!
