Excellent video, well done. It is a very nice tool. Couple of tips if I may... Be a bit more liberal with the tire lube on the tire during removal and install. For installing that last bead, put some lube on the inside lip of the tire. You can use a paper towel to apply the lube there and it helps that bead slide over the rim. Specially in that final tight zone. Balancing: If you have a yellow dot on the tire... pre balance the rim and mark the heavy spot with tape, it's not always at the valve. Line up the yellow dot with the tape. This minimizes the amount of weight you need and sometimes it's none.

WOW, you demonstrated this better than any Rabaconda video, i just bought this, every detail explained correctly, Well done 👏

That's no gimmick when i watch with my own eyes how easily it dismounts and mounts a stiff/difficult street tire. What - did the guy use special effects and not actuallly do it?😂 No it works and a huge bonus is how portable it is and doesn't take up space when you're not using it. Thanks for the excellent demonstration!

Just changed both tires on my Harley (first time using the Rabaconda). Worked like a charm! I have had some bad experiences with dealerships in the past and this tool has set me free! It helps to leave the tires in the sun for a while to let them get really warm (and more flexible) and to use plenty of grease on assembly.

GREAT DEMONSTRATION! Real world, you knew what you were about to do, you used a tire that you felt was going to be the toughest install, and you didn't hold back from showing us the true effort, in a clear and well broken down process. Thank you so much! Your video capture was spot on for getting the angles that showed the best about what you wanted to make clear.

Great video! Thanks for focusing on details that are not covered in Rabaconda’s instruction videos. They focus too much on trying to make it look easy instead of providing details like you did.

* See footnote at bottom * Wonderful review and demonstration. In fact yours is better then the official Rabaconda video tutorial. Close ups of the tool and operation is very concise and shows exactly how it works. Slow and steady wins the race! Thank you so much I have ordered my one and its on the way real soon hopefully Regards from “Downunder” Australia 🇦🇺 Footnote!!!! For those wondering about buying this unit!!!!! Beware Rabaconda sends shipping by horse and cart technology! I paid premium dollars (about $300 alone In shipping!!!) to receive it in a month or longer to Australia. I contacted them regarding where is my unit. They responded saying they are transparent on shipping times. Bullshit! Buyers beware!!

I just used mine today. It works a treat. I liked doing it so much I did my front tires three times until I got the dot and the arrow all in the proper orientation. Took less than 10g to balance the tire. I also got to super-clean everything in and around the front tire as well as check my brakes. By the time I did the tire the third time is was easy-peasy. Just a little practice will have most anyone doing it quickly. And, it was about 80 today so I set both the wheel with the old tire and the new tire in the driveway for a good hour or more before working with them. I know that helped tons. Another big plus, I didn't have to wait weeks for an appointment to get my tires done. I would then have to drop the bike the night before and get a ride home. Repeat the next day. I'm a "friend" of the local shop and a three-time Goldwing offender so they get me in fairly quickly. Most people wait 4-6 weeks to get in. It also costs about $150 for the service. I will make myself and the Rabaconda available to all my riding friends. I do think the Rabaconda is a bit overpriced, however, it is very well built and works awesome. I guess you get what you pay for.

Great demo, I use two of the centering tools, seemed to make it easier. I like the wood blocks idea though. I bought my Rabaconda a few months back and finally my front tire needs replacement, on my ‘06 Yamaha Stratoliner S (bagger cruiser) with chromed mag rims, 113/1854 air cooled engine, v-twin. Just under a hundred horsepower and 124 ft lbs of torque. This tool will pay for itself in the end, a worthwhile investment. I hope to get faster on it than I was yesterday afternoon. Thanks for the how to video! I hope to own a Goldwing someday…

Your video was a huge help for me in using the Rabaconda for the first time removing a 5 year old tire from the front of my Indian full sized. I used 2 drop center tools rather than wood blocks, however, I'll make some to have handy. I think silicone spray works much better than just the bead grease. Like you I had to use quite a bit of muscle for both removing and installing. All in all a great machine for being portable. I want to say I have your 2018+ maintenance videos and they are priceless!

Wow, that looks a million times easier than just using tire irons. Last time I took my wheel and tires to a shop for a change they dented the wheel lips with their irons. I am going to have to invest in one of these.

Thanks Fred. Have mine on order and will likely change my GL front tire in a week or so. Your vids are the BEST! The ease of assembly/disassembly, portability, and use of body weight instead of just arm strength makes the Rabaconda a winner in my book.

Your video should be included in every tire changer they sell, very simple and to the point. That being said l guess l was very fortunate to have bought a BMW R 100/7 in the 1980's from a dealer who showed how to break bead(with center stand) remove tube and repair a flat, and reinstall tire roadside. Does look like a very well made tire machine. Thanks for sharing 😊

Nice video, you seem to be very knowledgeable about this changer. You are 100% correct Gold Wing Tires are the hardest. On the flip side, the wheels come off the bike super easy! I've been using my No-Mar changer for 15+ years and done hundreds of tires. I have a 21 GW and have changed three set so far, always feel like I'm going to rip the sidewall while its groaning during the change. Thanks for taking the time to post!

Good video mate. I've changed quite a few tyres myself with just tyre leavers &, to say that tyres, especially rear tyres, can be an absolute bastard to get back on the rim is an understatement. I've been looking at a few different tyre change machines & that one you have seems quite good.

Awesome video and thank you for the tips! Saw some tips that they don’t even have on their own company video of it. That’s amazing considering it was a cold goldwing tire. That’s a really stiff tire! I can only imagine how easy it would be with a warm super sport tire.

Absolutely positively a device I will never use. Way too complicated. Way to unstable way too much effort. Is a guy here that has a video on here using two tire irons and two plastic rim protectors that snap onto the rim he got the tire off in less than 5 minutes. Got the new tire on and less than 5 minutes filled it with air which took 30 seconds mounted it on a wheel mounter which took 3 minutes. Done deal. This is a Rube Goldberg nightmare.
@fredoswego
@fredoswego 10 месяцев назад
yeah I'm going to need to see that video. I've changed my own tires for 30 years now using nothing but tire irons and yes it can be done, but it's time consuming and takes a fair amount of strength. Anybody doing a tire in 3 min is either doing an exceptionally soft sidewall tire or is using a tire just a little too big in order to fool the viewer.

At least with the Olmax, the wheel is supported on 3 points/pads. This unit only supports the tire with two pads. Look at the way the wheel is flopping around. No thanks

I see so many of vids showing this Rabaconda tyre changer but I can't help but feel it is crap. Far easier to change a tyre on the garage floor or on a stable bench using an Olmax tyre changer than on this rickety unstable contraption. There are existing tyres changers that are MUCH better. This is just a gimmick.
@bill4562

You go ahead and change a late model Goldwing tire on the garage floor or a stable bench.

@@bill4562 There is no way I shall be buying a Goldwing just to change it's TYRE. If I wanted a bike that big and heavy then I would just use my car instead. Joking aside that Rabaconda TYRE changer looks like a gimmick. Firstly it looks very unstable and just crap. I won't be wasting any of my cash on it. You might have a different view. Well it's your cash. Don't say I didn't warn you. LoL.

Owning a Rabaconda Street Bike Tire changer, a 2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sport ES DCT and a 2023 Honda Gold Wing Tour, I can give my ACTUAL EXPERIENCE CHANGING TIRES WITH THE RABACONDA STREET BIKE TIRE CHANGER. I went out on RU-vid to watch videos of the Olmax tire changer on a Gold Wing tire, so I could make a more factual comparison between the Rabaconda that I own and use, and the Olmax tire changer (that I havent had any experience using) 1) I noticed that both units will move around when using them because neither are bolted to the floor or workbench. I think that if you go with a harbor freight tire changer, you may be able to bolt that unit to the floor. 2) both units were able to change a gold wing rear tire. The video showing the Olmax was changing a tire on a Gold Wing that was on the dark side meaning that it was an Auto tire that would fit the Gold Wing rim. Don't know how stiff a car tire sidewall is compared to a Dunlop Elite 4 rear tire so it's hard to say which would be easier. 3) The Olmax looks sturdy, is cheaper, but the Rabaconda is also built pretty solid. Using it I put a lot of force on it and it has been holding up so far. 4) Both units use what is called a duck head that rides along the rim to install and remove the tire. The Rabaconda has an optional duck head that you can buy if you need to change out tires on a Cross Spoked rim such as the BMW GS 1250 AS, or a 2021 Honda Africa twin. The optional Duck Head is wider accommodating the additional width of the cross spoked rim. 5) Rabaconda allows you to use more of your body weight while changing the tire since you are not limited to just the horizontal plane pulling on the bar to remove or install the tire. The horizontal plane would be great, if the Olmax tire changer was bolted to the floor or a workbench. The Rabaconda has the tire mounted on a 45-50 degree angle, so you can use additional body weight to apply force removing and installing the tires which I think is an advantage over the Olmax. as far as a rickety unstable gimmick, I'll have to come back in 5 or so years with experience using it to let everyone know how it held up and how many tires I have changed. Hard to make a judgement with out actually using the Rabaconda tire changer and just watching "many of vids showing this Rabaconda tyre changer". Anyway, I am trying to present the pro/con of each of the tire changers. l haven't used the Olmax, but from what I can see it works, but the only advantage is the cost, and you can get it with an additional static balancer. I have a static balancer I use on the Africa Twin, and have Centramatic wheel balancers on the Gold WIng, so I really don't need to balance the Gold Wing tires.
