Shoshanah Shear you should tell the rabbi that all men are made of ONE BLOOD and that the children of the flesh are NOT the children of God. Your flesh didn’t come from heaven and it will not go to heaven. You must be CONVERTED a new spiritual creature from God (not man’s cursed seed of death) to return to the land. That happens only if YOU RECEIVE THE PROMISE BY grace through faith. Those who receive the promise are born from heaven and return to the PROMISE LAND of the living in HEAVEN.

To put you in the picture, I have been attending an Orthodox Synagogue for over ten years and my appreciation of the entire Siddur, the weekly readings from the Chumash, and the many good friends I have made have enriched my life. Theologically, the only significant difference between us is my belief that Yeshua was and is the Messiah. They have accepted me and I have accepted them. Please recall that the 1st c. believers were all Jews and they continued to meet with their Jewish brethren until the latter thrust them out. But to return to my sincere question: What can Orthodox Judaism offer that Messianic Judaism cannot offer?

@@kevinoneil56 when in your time studying you time have you found an explicit prophecy of the messiah dying? im fairly ignorant, but ive heard nothing to make me believe he will die and resurrect and that we would offer prayers to him or in his name or that he would be the final sacrifice or passover lamb. the only things jews have to offer above messianics is a more strict and conservative view of the torah. i cant think of anything else, if you are wrong about yeshua then you arent really waiting the messiah, you are fixated on the past and not the future. that is a risk we shouldnt take. you know there are other jewish sects who think there messiah is gonna deturn, what does yeshua have to offer over them?

we know what judaism has to offer, the law given to moses by god, nothing more. just a method of being close to god, thats it. yeah there is a world to come but you are probably gonna die before you see it. what does yeshua offer? paradise? mercy from the fire? these will all take place after death. judaism says there is a method of being close to god, follow these laws and guard them and you will be a light to the nation. i think thats enough and im not a jew.
