Unfortunately, the more thoughtful and nurturing women are with their romantic interests, the more the love interest tends to loose interest and respect for them. People are just so messed up these days. Most of the time, folks go for the bad boy or the bad girl... (here in Los Angeles anyway.) It does seem that most folks are just selfish users and they don't want to be in a relationship. All they want is to find a casual hook up partner who they won't feel guilty about disposing of after they start getting bored. I tried being orthodox for about five years a few decades ago in the hopes that the men would be more decent, but was sorely disappointed. The fabric of our society has become unraveled. If it was not for welfare, people probably would not even be having kids anymore. Okay, yes - I'm exaggerating. But really, life is just not a pretty bouquet of yellow roses with white poofs and a lavender ribbon for most women.

I totally agree! In theory men want an observant loving wife, but in reality they go for the jezebels... They are exciting and fun!... Or we attract narcissists, who in reality hate all women, but want a wife as a personal slave

If in all his years of counseling he never had a couple come to him with big problems...?? Extra marital affairs? Never? Differences in religious observance?, he never counseled a couple with speciall needs children or invading inlaws? (one of them thinks they are caring not invasive) They only came with small petty things? Really? Either he's lying for some reason or he's led a sheltered life. I find this idea about love in the details and relating it our relationship to HaShem incredibly simplistic. And about tefillah, "you have to say the words!" the words can become robotic and lifeless. I'm sure he heard of hitbodadut. Okay I see such an idea as a chidur mitzvah, we want to make kiddush in a nice cup not a dirty tin can. But come on! Each person has a different idea what expresses love. Learning what your spouse likes and doesn't like is only the tip of a huge iceberg. No one came to him with a serious problem?! I can think of 20!

Chavah Fried maybe this is the problem, people are coming with small things and with big they are not and so there are divorces. If someone cheat on someone what can be done? Nothing... in most cases so why even try. I have two friends they are lawyers one religions and one not, both very successful and both told me that people are coming to divorce because of stupid little things most... of course there are cases you mentioned but is true that majority reasons are non senses. Anyway he is delivering certain lesson and he built it in way that it will bring the point.. he is not there to discuss all cases.

@@Chanaaaaa442I take your point about what he has come say. Thank you for that feedback. So sorry to learn that petty things do divide people to such an extent.

In actuality many sugars such as high fructose and other refined sugars have proven factual scientific evidence of harm done to the human body. Diabetes is just one disease which is caused simply overworking a pancreas like a car engine throttle to the floor engine failure example. He may have seen the loss of life from children dying from diabetes. However on the flip side a divorce court would call this loving father obsessive compulsive, not fitting in with society norms or having a mental illness of some sort like paranoid schizophrenia for example. The mother wins custody 99% if the time in most instances. Though realistically the father meant as well as knows Best.

Almost everything about a normal life depends on moderation. Not eating excessive amounts of sugar is vitally important. Going bonkers and wanting to divorce your wife over a box of Cheerios, is lunatic. And by the way, the Torah provides guidelines in this regard as well. Indeed, Maimonides' Code of Jewish Law includes an entire chapter on health, including warnings against eating a lot of sugar or salt. As he says in the opening line, man's purpose in life is to serve God; hence, he must do all that he can to be healthy, so that he shall be able to have a most productive life.

Yanky Lichtman. The reason he says this is "H" says you are to watch your eyes. You as a man are not allowed to enjoy the beauty of a woman that is not your wife. Now theses rabbis teach all levels of Jewish women and Men. Some of the women in the audience may be married and airing there with uncovered hair. Or maybe they are single and have not reached a level of sniut that they need to be. So to save you and other men of the sin of not watching your eyes and saving her from the sin of causing others to sin by not being dressed modestly the shiur needs to be labeled. Please refrain from using fowl language as you did.
