Dear Rabbi, You make some very interesting points however true Catholic thinking is not as you say as Catholics believe in the Resurrection of the body and man is not complete until the immortal body and soul are reunited. Catholics also believe the human body is sacred. Catholics also see marriage as a holy sacrament and that children are a blessing. At the same time celibacy for those who feel called to it is also a good vocation similar to the Jewish Essenes. Even in Temple Judaism the priests were not allowed to engage in intercourse with their wives during their service at the Temple, as Catholic priests offer the sacrifice of the Mass every day it was seen more fitting that they remain celibate. However this is only a spiritual tradition or custom and the Catholic Church does have some married priests and it is mainly the Latin rite that has the rule on celibacy but there are over 20 different rites in the Catholic Church in union with the Pope and many of them have a tradition of both married and celibate clergy. Dualism came from gnosticism which did infiltrate into certain Christian communities but has never been a part of formal Catholic teaching. You misinterpret St Paul who himself was a Pharisee Rabbi. I suggest you study more deeply the teaching of the other religions as held by those who are practicing believers in that religion before making claims about what they believe. There is also a big difference between Catholic theological views to Protestant. I once studied at Aish and saw that most of the Rabbis made claims about what Christians believed that were often incorrect or were claimed to be that of all Christians rather than a certain branch of Christianity. Apparently Rabbi probably has not read or understood correctly the Gospel and Apostle Paul saying that Christians separate the body and hate the body. This is not what Jesus said and this is not what Apostile Paul said. Speaking of the contradiction between the body and the spirit Apostle Paul never considered the body as something unclean and low, he is talking only about sin. According to the Christian (Greek Orthodox as well) teachings, the soul, the body and the spirit in a human are interconnected, therefore, if your body sins, you cannot expect to carry clean spirit. (1 Cor 6.9), If you stay away from sin (also corporal sins, such as promiscuity, adultery) , your may also succeed to keep your spirit pure (2 Cor. 7.1.) "Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God". The body is a temple for the Spirit (1 Cor 6:19, 1 Cor 3.16) that is why the body of a Christian should be dead to sin (Rom. 8.10). Nowhere Apostile Paul says that you should hate or neglect your body, on the contrary, he emphasizes everywhere that the body is one with the soul and spirit. To separate the body from the soul is a Buddhist tradition, that is why prostitution in countries like Thailand is never looked down upon, it is not uncommon that the parents in a poor family give their oldest son for transgender operation so he can feed the family. The version that the "epidemic" of transgenderism is swiping Western world is nowhere linked to Christianity, especially Greek Orthodox Christianity as Rabbi is trying to portray. If Rabbi studied the subject more in depth he would notice that it is an agenda from the satanic governments that currently plague Western world, starting from the music videos finishing recent legislation. Recently California has passed a law that a minor does not need parent's permission to do gender change surgery. If I am not mistaken, the law like this already exists in Canada. There is a similar tendency with the euthanasia which is literally pushed onto depressed teens and elderly. We in Europe are not so much aware of what is happening in Israel, but if Rabbi wants to know more about what is going on in Europe, USA, Canada, he can watch recent interviews conducted by Jordan Peterson, Tucker Carlson who actively cover such topics and how these Jewish men look at Christianity. And of course read Apostile Paul , understand the context and try to get a deeper meaning of what he has actually said.

The duality of soul and body you describe is Gnostic not Christian. Christianity stresses physical incarnation and resurrection of the body, not disembodied souls trapped in a fleshy prison. Although Gnostic elements inevitably found their way into Christianity, it was dismissed by the early Church Fathers as "pretentious but dangerous nonsense" and denounced as a heresy.

I think you guys often misunderstand Paul. Many Christians misunderstand him, too. Sometimes, when he refers to the flesh (body) he means evil inclinations. When he “subjects” the “flesh” he subjects his desires to Hashem’s will. A man I met some years ago sought out my friendship. He was young and married. Over time the friendship deepened where he confided in me that he had been having out-of-body experiences when he saw some books that I had been reading on the subject of near death experience. I'm not Jewish and I don't practice but I've been saying for a while now that the transgender or just gender activist movement on the left reminds me of the religious far right , I mean I've seen SOOO MANY parallels to the religious zealots on the far right. Your clarification is as elegant as I would expect from Jung were he still alive to observe the messy confusion between the soul/animus/anima and the physical body we're seeing around us. The idea that what's being called a spectrum is actually a mosaic makes so much more sense as a metaphor of the plethora of individual manifestations of embodied souls. A spectrum is too amorphous to pin down meaning at any specific point, whereas a mosaic is fashioned from many discretely different pieces that can be identified as fitting together to create meaning. The soul being a mosaic is a very helpful concept. Nearly had my life destroyed because I was not a very social girl/woman and was forced into therapy as a minor to talk more. My father even laughed at me when i managed to quickly shorten what my mother said when I had to repat what she said to him. I started saying so much nonsense to up my word count since I was criticized so much. I nearly got fired and I wanted to end my life because nothing i did was ever good enough. I got resentful and doubled down on not socializing and my life greatly improved. I was criticized for not wanting to wear make up or jewelry. I managed to marry and I am married for more than 10 years now and still not wearing make-up or jewelry.

Here is the consciousness of the people of America, some of us have homosexuals in our family, we are not Nazis to terminate their lives because it is a spiritual misinterpretation on how to address it. Hello! Let me correct you in a tiny difference: Christians believe in the Eternal Life and in that life, we will be Glorified Bodies (in case you go to Heaven), not only souls. We remain humans and the human person is always body and soul. That is the Christian teaching.

Your understanding of Christianity is not correct. You have misrepresented Christian beliefs. For example, the negative references to "the flesh" in the New Testament are actually a reference to the sin nature that we're all born with. This same teaching is also found in the Old Testament / Tanakh (e.g. Psalm 51:5). If you read the New Testament more carefully, you'll see that the physical body is actually quite highly honoured as God's temple (1 Corinthians 6:19). Perhaps you should stick to your area of expertise (i.e. Judaism) until you educate yourself a bit better about Christianity. When you start making wildly inaccurate claims such as, "transgenderism has its roots in Christianity", you come across as ignorant, although I'm sure you're quite smart in other areas. Rabbi Jonathan Cahn has a much more insightful video concerning the origins of the gender perversion we're seeing today. Look it up - it goes right back as far as Old Testament times.

I agree. There is a glaring contradiction with ppl who say: « I want to be me and be accepted as I am » ( ie: a boy in a girls body etc…) but then going through all those surgeries to no longer be exactly who they are , which is a boy soul in a feminine body or whatever. Again, only those who have a conscience regarding living their lives in harmony with God’s plan for each of us, will have the wisdom to simply be who they are . As a Catholic, I find it odd that the Old Testament logic has been swept aside; somehow that is something that does not make too much sense and that on fact has led to wher we are today.
