Recorded on January 15, 2017 at the Orthodox Union's Torah in the City: Indoors at Citi Field event. See more at www.ou.org/convention/shiur/
Until his Aliyah in August 2008, Rabbi Shalom Rosner was a popular Maggid Shiur at Yeshiva University’s Stone Beis Medrash Program and the Rabbi of Congregation Bais Ephraim Yitzchok - the “Island Shul” - for six years. A graduate of Yeshivat Shaalvim and YU, he earned a BA in Economics and a Masters in Jewish Education and Administration from Azrieli. A Musmach of RIETS, Rabbi Rosner was a member of the Beren Kollel Elyon and a Kupietzky Kodshim Fellow. The Rosners’ Aliyah made headlines and shook the Jewish world. Kehillat Nofei HaShemesh in Bet Shemesh has been built around his Rabbinic leadership.

Is there any chance this source sheet is available somewhere?

He uses a lot of hyperbole to make his points seem stronger than they are, but he's clearly wrong. Let's break this down. 1. @5:30 his first source is a command to Avram, but we don't take commands to Avraham Avinu as a command for us. We don't shecht children either. 2. @6:10 Yitzchak not going down to Mitzraim clearly did not apply to his Father, Son, and Grandchildren who went down to Egypt. It's just Yitzchak. 3. @6:29 Yaakov was told that he would be given the land, but not only was he not commanded to live their, he actually left and went down to Egypt. The generation that went down to Egypt was on a much higher level than we are today. It's not even comparable. 4. @7:50 Rashi is clearly not saying to move to Eretz Yisroel. He's saying that we need to have Bereshis before Shemos so we can know that G-d gives the land to whomever G-d wants, but we need to understand his original question. "Why didn't it start with the commandments?" and שפתי חכמים explains "This is because the Torah was given to Israel only for the mitzvos it contains, that they should keep them." 5. @8:46 When you make a statement like "Every single parsha in the Torah talks about..." that is some seriously over the top hyperbole. I can't watch anymore.

You made a good decision not to listen anymore. You clearly do not want to be convinced. Let's hear your great arguments why it is not an important mitzva to live in Israel?
