Pigpoke: Dear diary, The humans, well they confuse me. Today they brought me two bowls of water, this wouldn't have been out of the ordinary if one was not so huge. While I was inspecting this, I heard the glorious rip of a banana. I rather like bananas so I was quite excited for my mid day snack. It took my human forever so finally get it open but instead of offering it to me... It just vanished with a plop. Having no idea where my sweet treat had gone I searched for it, only to hear another rip followed up by another plop. It was only at the third that I caught on to their trickery. Three bananas, three perfect bananas... Lay beyond a deep lake of water... Or that's what it felt like anyways. Well having none of this I sniffed around for a banana that was unsoaked by their foolishness and when none could be found I ran off to give my human time to correct his mistakes. I do not like giving the cold shoulder but it was effective as he called me back to apologize. That's what I thought anyways. He had retriever the unpeeled banana which was inaccessible to me and I was thrilled. Finally, I would be getting my treat I thought but no, only more trickery! Instead of just offering me my so cruely denied treat, he cut it up into another pool of water! Such an insult left me stunned as I was left to sniff and stare as my treat was just out of reach. Eventually he caught on and offered me a taste and even made it so a few were pushed beyond the barrier of the water so that I may finally eat. I think I shall rest now... This has been a tiring experience for me. Until next time, diary.

The suspense was palpable! I could see poor Pigpoke salivating at the smell of the banana, but he couldn't seem to put 2 + 2 together at first. He got there in the end though! I think Dad had more fun than Pigpoke did, if I'm being honest. 😂 When Pigpoke finally got his slice of banana, it was so lovely to see him relishing every bite. 🥰🐰 The way he sprints over full pelt never gets old! So full of Joie de vivre. Moral of the story is, eat more fruit, be full of joy! 👍
Yep saw that too. Guess he found the exercise a bit frustrating. What a spicy bun I love him.❤️ I sometimes wonder if maybe he doesn’t like the camera the way Pipkin did?
i love to see how you interact with your bunny and everyone can see how much you love him! looks like you would do everything for him, that he have a wonderful bunnylife.... a bunnyparadise on earth----- but important info for you: it is against the nature of a bunny to put the head under water, because they can not breath and because the small opening for breathing and the hairy skin (hairs accumulate water) and can soak with water and because of this they can aspirate water and then the risk of a pneumonia because of aspiration is high and for a bunny its lethal in 99% ..... so a bat is for them very dangerous (for medical reasons doing by a vet is a exception!!!! so please DO NOT BATH, SHOWER A BUNNY or try to put the head under water! i am sure you don´t know that and thought a video of him putting the head under water, catching a banana like humans catch apples would looks cute but please don´t do this !!! and you can see that he don´t do this doesn´t care whats under the water...., thats the reason... the nature say him don´t do this!.
PigPoke is a very smart rabbit. He know the first bowl was too high and deep. He felt if he tried he could drowned. The second one he was still unsure of. So he just hopped away. Until you called and reassured him. PigPoke is amazing.
Poor Pigpoke! He was so confused. Good for him for stealing a blueberry at the end! What rage was used to rip that top off the blueberry container! The mighty beast roars and shows his ferocity! 😂👏🐰
Pigpoke was super curious, adorable how he stood up! 🤗 And took little face washing breaks 🤗I think rabbit’s noses never stop sniffing, so Pigpoke was careful not to sniff up any water🤭He had some yummy banana slices, then a rest under the couch .. then a luscious blueberry finale 🫐😋
I'm just in a "ahh so CUTE" in every thing Pigpoke does no matter how big or small 😍😍😍 I can't get enough of his adorable ways of doing things. And when he stands up and begs for treats I just melt 😍 🥰
Rabbits don't understand depth which is why they think trashcans have a flat surface and they end up diving right in despite not being able to see the top. Poor Pigpoke understands water in a bowl but not the concept as to why the bananas "disappeared".
You really think I'm putting my head in water? Are you crazy Dad? You made all my nanners wet! Yucky. Now what are you going to do with all those cut up nanners?
I think the main issue was the smell... or lack thereof when the banana is submerged in the water. Rabbits see with their nose. if they don't smell it, it doesn't exist. They have terrible eyesight up close due to the orientation of their eyes on the sides. Thus they depend on their nose to find the food.
I am sad for Pigpoke! He wanted his banana so much and he has to do something very unnecessary to try to get it. Really, I do not think it is a good idea to encourage Pigpoke to risk getting his chin and neck wet. Here’s why: when we were force feeding our beloved rabbit Bonnie with Critical Care, we also forced water because we thought she might be getting dehydrated. Of course, our exotic vet was closed that night. When I checked her later, she was cold and I decided to wrap her in a towel and hold her, trying to conserve her body heat. When I did I realized the area under her chin had stayed wet for hours. I feel guilty because I think we made a mistake getting her chin and neck wet. I think it contributed to her death. Maybe I am wrong, but I am sure rabbit fur does not dry quickly now. Please do not risk getting Pigpoke’s sweet chin and neck wet. No reason to nudge him toward possible hypothermia.🙏🏻❤️
Is that the same rabbit from the airhorn vid? I remember watching that rabbit with my dutch rabbit which is your rabbits twin! Gives me memories. He passed in 2020 February from old age. He was 8.
Remember the banana mantra: PEEL FROM THE BOTTOM (TIP), NOT THE STEM. Also, for optimal ripeness, you dont want flat yellow ... depending on the variety, its best to wait a few days until they're spotty yellow or mahogany brown enroute to black, or until it just begins to soften in ernest. Meahwhile, If I was the bunny, i'd use my head like a snowplow to knock the bowl over away from me, then repeat to right the bowl, leaving the banana(s) exposed atop wet carpet. The are other solutions, but all of them involve getting more than just the bottom of the paws wet, or drinking a LOT of water. 😉

I'm sorry, but I consider this video unresponsible. Bunnies should neither eat bananas with loads of sugar or put their head under water (encouraged by people). Bunnies have extremely sensitive respiratory system, which might easily get affected by some water getting for example to their lungs - causing some further severe complications. It is nice to make videos which show to people how lovely pets bunnies really are, and how they are, but this kind of videos might encourage for example children to do similar tricks, without understanding the possible consequences. Rabbit healthcare is not too widely understood among people, and even if small amount of banana from time to time as goodie is not too dangerous, I would prefer to use actual bunny food on videos (a lot of good quality hay and small amounts of green leaves and herbs suitable for rabbits. If needed, also small amount of pellet) to increase knowledge and proper feeding. Also for example carrots, seeds or apples are not suitable for persistent rabbit diet (too high on sugar or fat).
And the answer is a big Nope! Pigpoke reminded me of my cats when they have a wet paw---carefully cleaning themselves! Hooman, if you should feel the need to try again, remember to add the produce first, then the water---much less mess from displaced water flowing over the sides.
Poor sweet little Pigpoke how could you resist him begging on his hind legs for a piece of banana? I am not surprised he would not go near the big dish, as he is a most intelligent rabbit and I have heard that water submersion is very dangerous for a rabbit. I think the experiment was to see if Pigpoke could manage to take out the baby bananas out of the top of the dish, without getting wet. Unfortunately baby bananas do not float I am surprised Pigpoke did not drink more of the water in the little dish. I would have thought he would have been very thirsty in this hot weather. If there had been slightly less water he would have drunk some and eaten the pieces of bananas. I love the way Pigpoke stole the berry from the Container before his Dad had a chance to put some in water, for another experiment. He looked so naughty as he stole it and I swear he looked like he was laughing at the end of the video. I love Pigpoke and his Bunny Attitude
Rabbits are very scared of water . without taking bath every morning it looks so clean . They use their saliva to take off all dirt from their silky fur easily by licking constantly.
I didn't think he would. I knew he'd grab the bananas sticking up out of the water though he can smell those. Bunny hop hops rely more on scent then they do sight. Can't really smell through the water he just smelled the water and not the completly submerged bananas.
So did he figure out how to tip over the bowl to get the bananas yet? Also, I wouldn't blame him if he pees all over you out of spite. Rabbits can hold a grudge forever just waiting for their chance to pee on you or eat all the furniture legs when you're not looking.
He can definitely smell the banana and understands that it is under water, he is avoiding getting his whiskers wet and avoiding getting water up his nose.
