Raccoons are confused, but visit me 

Look at them! My heart is breaking because they are so skinny and have no food. Winter is coming in a few months. What could we do? Their natural environment was being destroyed in order to create dwellings. They need at least 50 acres of land to locate food. We need to amend the laws. We need the leader to agree to help wildlife in need, or we need a wildlife sanctuary with a variety of trees that can provide food for them. They won't be able to survive without food. If you move, the raccoons will miss you. I pray that your mom gets well soon.

Well the good thing is they look ok so they're finding enough food. Still heart-breaking for you to see them. Glad you were able to plant fruit trees, your neighbours are probably busy filing airspace violations against pigeons right now to notice. You're right about getting that connection with animals, it's important. Too much misinformation out there. We're all part of the same family, all mammals.

This just choked me up. I'm sorry you are going through this, it's just awful. I just put out a couple extra scoops of dog food and nuts for my raccoon friends, in honor of yours. If I were you, I'd get those big bags of unsalted mixed nuts from Costco and just scatter them all through the woods, around and in the logs, just everywhere. That way they can search around for them, find them at differnt times, and you're not standing there and feeding them. They do look thinner. I hope they're getting water somewhere. Ugh, this sucks.

Hopefully opportunity will knock & help you out. If you get lucky don't hesitate too long. There's a man in Hayward, WI 5hat has a variety of wildlife & pets. Maybe he may have some ideas? I can't remember the exact link, Bob & his white Goose George should get you started. He seems to keep busy not only on his projects @ home, he also works with auctions. As much as I love to see Cutie and the gang, my heart just breaks for all😢. Thanks for sharing this experience, it was obviously very difficult. Tears for all.

😢 You have our support but you definitely need someone in your corner that supports your humanitarian efforts and can convince either your city council or the civil courts to at least allow you, if nothing else, to resume supervised visits (wildlife expert; animal control), to feed and interact with x number of raccoons in a given area for a given period of time until they are no longer dependent on you for their basic survival needs. Mediate a solution! 😢

Society says we aren’t to feed animals in the wild. Feeding them makes them dependent on us. BUT I feel there should be some compromise allowed at least in places. Such as designate certain areas as human friendly animal parks where animals are wild in their habitat and are NOT confined but fed a measured amount of healthy food (they still get most food from foraging) where we can touch the animal and sit with them. Instead society will jail animals in zoos or have us drive through an animal park feeding them through open windows. It’d be awesome to walk through a park and sit on the ground and have a ground hog come up to you or squirrel, etc. A neighbor 30 years ago had pets from the wild as a child (illegal) and said how groundhog was the tamest. He’d had squnk, squirrel, racoon, etc. always found as babies.

This is heartbreaking... I'm sorry this happened. To avoid such situation, I'm not going to create any close bonds with the raccoons that I meet, ever... unless I had a pet raccoon, but this is not allowed in my state. Who knows--perhaps the law will change. Hang in there, Mr Oons, the world moves forward and there is a better future there... 💚💚💚

How come they can have bird feeders? Won't they attract squirrels & chipmunks? Horror of horrors! Very different situations same feelings! I've been having to do things like empty all cabinets for pest control, & just to keep you busy, strip beds down to mattress every month. They recently are cleaning & painting the outsides of the buildings &wanted residents to wash their apt & cement. No big deal! Yeah? I spent 2 hours making food for myself + a few other chores. I was so exhausted I slept for 2 hours! OK! Now for the punchline....I'm disabled, live in a handicapped unit,....What's wrong with this picture? BTW if you even THINK I'm going to end up in a hospital (been there, done that) pass, or worse options. Heard of a Country song "Ocean Front Property"? Oh, a more famous one, a special Bridge in NYC!

Your video proves how much they love you, not just for food but your company!!! I often had disagreements with people about this very thing! Of course they are food motivated, but it goes much deeper 🤍 You mentioned your mother being ill. My prayers for her and your family. I lost my mom in December and my 18 year old toy poodle in April. Mr oons perhaps 🤔 if your able to plant 🪴 somethings that are perennials and produce natural foods in your yard like grapes 🍇 blueberries 🫐 strawberries 🍓 raspberry and sunflowers 🌻 they might return. And technically your not feeding them because they would be foraging naturally..just remember that when it come to grapes it takes about 4-6 years before the plant produces fruits 😊
