The commentary on the women’s racing is superb .I have spent many hours watching men’s events this year and after one event I have learned more about the riders in the women’s peloton than I have learned all season about the men’s .Every rider on the screen is named and their nationality and team given %Unlike the men’s commentary where I learn more about the commentators than the riders .

why women's grand tour so small? i am assuming it is 9 stages. i know 21 stages might be too much but 9 is so low

Probably because of budget. And also, women cannot do the same amount of exertion that man do, nor should they.

@@gmm9200 Women actually do better in longer runs (like ultra marathons) than men, so it's likely not that they can't do 3 weeks since also their cycling stages are set to be shorter than the mens'.

⁠@@taq170321maybe thats true, maybe not, but they do the same averages on a 15km ITT as men on a 200km race. You cant compare it + the quality would be lower if you let them do more stages.

It's because the audience is smaller, so the sponsors don't pay as much money, so the budget of the race is quite a bit smaller than the men's, which means they can't afford 3 weeks. It's 8 stages BTW, not 9. If you need to assume something in cycling, then assume that a stage race ends on a Sunday and count back how many days until then.
