My son, being almost 2 years old, enjoys watching this stuff. He likes to help me work on my tractor. He's definitely going to build things when he gets bigger, I can tell. Great build, too.
I legit started making a Murray race mower after watching the John Deere video, it's got a 24 vtwin in it and eventually I'll put a peerless 820 in it,just wanna say thank you for continuing this series and inspireing me
my dad built this exact mower into a race mower in the early 2000s he put a gas pedal and bulit a cool trailer with a seat for us kids! it was a great memories from my childhood riding on it with him and watching him pop wheelies. so cool!
Nice! Mine was a lowered & chopped Rhino lined mid 90s MTD mower with a Briggs opposed twin I/C 20hp. I had ribbed golf cart meaty slicks on the back & red rims & whitewall tire paint. "there's a pic on my page" It was running a comet 40 series cvt to stock belt speed changer then rear end via a vertical jackshaft & pilowblock berrings & a u shaped pice of heavy sheet metal bolted to the frame under the dash. The battery was mounted in board the frame just behind the right footboard & I used its old tierod ball pices as chargeing lugs sticking out the side to clamp Frankenstein cables on😁. Should of ran a belt from jackshaft to smaller pulley on rear end derectley & got rid of the other stuff as it did'nt go very fast. The 20 hp would of been Wild with headers! "also on an old dunecycle or sand buggy too"✌👍
It's crazy that people are putting V8s in riding mowers now. I was scrolling through RU-vid videos a couple of weeks ago and this guy was running a big block Chevy engine in his. It wasn't lowered, but it was crazy fast
This is sick! Planning to get a Craftsman GT and turn it into something like this! You should keep the single broken running light, gives it character.
I have almost the exact same model Murray. I had problems years ago with the 12hp so I swapped in an 18hp OHC and a metal deck idler. She’s been working great for years but starting to fray a bit. Thinking of making her a racer at some point.
You guys did great job!!!!!! I love it!!!.. however you made it more difficult. The pieces you cut off the rear just needs to be moved up and re welded. The front just make a new pivot hole moved up the same amount you cut out the rear( more for a raked look). It's not as low but super easy to make a couple of them and race with your friends.
Guys awesome video it’s looking sick, I have literally done the complete opposite with my Murray ride on, these things look so much better when they aren’t used to mow haha
Howdie awesome workmanship keep it up your on your way out joined for fun and adventure mighty fine Gentlemen ya got this l,m doing Crapsman with v8 auto lowered and modified a little l,m your Dad's age 66 ha ha still got the kid in me so giving it a shot looks cool 😎 so far from Canada 🇨🇦 SK later keep it up 😊
Awesome, thanks so much for ideas, I have an old Craftsman I picked up for a project like that but was stumped on how to get it low since its so different from everything I see, except this one is pretty close to it
After seeing this Ive got the itch now😅. I have a 48" cut Lawn Machine with a 16.5 hp engine that i bought 10 yrs ago sitting in my garage. I traded a wore out 12hp murry and 100 bucks for the Lawn Machine. It was to big for my yard, and i spent more time backing up and going in circles, just trying to mow my lawn. I figured out it was quicker to cut it with the push mower, so i parked the rider. All it needs is a hot battery and a fresh tank of gas. I took a few laps around the neighborhood on it two years ago. Im 60yrs old now. I may not lower it, but my old ass is going to have some fun! Thanks, guys, for the motivational video!
Hey Guys Your doing a Good Build ,Why don't you Cut and raise the rear tow, Up a 1 inch and re-weld, If 1 wheel drops in a hole,it will do damage.the tractor.
nice im making a racing mower but completly from scratch from two different mowers ive stripped them all down ready for the build when is the next part coming out
Doing all that extra work when you can just get different tires and not have to crazy mod anything. It might not be slammed but you still can actually race and off road it with ease.
Dude I'm working on the same mower if it's the same it's got a good perless 812 I think and I'm running a weed eater 1 8.75hp and a 110cc Chinese 4 wheeler front end set up with no shocks I think it will be fun
It never ceases to amaze me how people can show how smart they are with building good contraptions only to show their true stupidity by drilling holes in metal pieces using a drill press but holding the pieces with their hand and not secured down. Absolute stupidity!!
@@mycustomgokart And die with no fingers? Nah, I'd rather bypass the pain and loss by being safe. You wanna run risks with power tools? Be my guess. Just don't make a video of you losing them (fingers).
I actually have an answer for this. Use a 1 inch or 3/4 straight axle and run chain drive to whatever motor you choose and run used Tesla cells. There's guys on RU-vid who build electric go karts
