"The way I designed this originally, that it would be accessible very easily" (disassembles the entire back end of the mower) LOL! Just bustin' chops. Keep up the good work. I wish had your resources. I've been working on a mud mower for three years and I don't have it running yet. Marriage life
I wish I was that far in on mine I’ve got a shit gear box and apparently there hard to find manual gearbox’s on Australia 🇦🇺 ❤your work mate keep it up
The only thing I would have done differently is the fenders. I would have rounded them to hug the tires. Front fenders too. Regardless, it still looks awesome.
I have done some of these also and i had the same Problems with the Motor and the Gears and at this Point you can not weld it you need another one. I wish you good Luck from Austria
Only gel cell batterys cN go on there sides. Your battery is going to have exposed plates mounted that way. I don't expect it to last long. But very interesting build.
hi... me again... about the transmission... in part 2 you said the housing crack because of the gear selector but where is the crack its the differential... gear selector is on the front... mostly sure the housing open again because of the way you weld the gear... those gears are made with metal powder they broke easily and don't realy like to be weld. there is a way to lock the diff with the gear by welding the teeth but i prefer a straight shaft
The initial crack was from assembling the transmission incorrectly. It put too much pressure on a gear, causing the crack. When I tore the transmission out, I discovered that the gears you mentioned, did in fact cause the breakage. We welded the gears together apparently without much penetration. The first crack in the case defiantly did not help, allowing the case to flex.
Hey Jake, I'm building a drift kart and I was wondering if you had any recommendations for what seat I should use, preferably one under a $100. Thank you
