Yeah who needs trains. You can go to your meeting or date just in time by running too, only disadvantage is you will be breathing like a dog and sweating like hell. But no problem. And if you do your cardio enough you can run with your schoolbag 3 stations back home. Ok ok I will stop😐
even with all of those precautions, it's still public place, if he is injured it's on himself, but the possibility of injuring other people tho..? (don't use "you must be fun at party" to me please, lol. I'm just trying to make some senses here)
Just to provide some context this video was created to show an unedited split screen of the challenge in full to prove the video is real from boarding the tube to getting back on. The original edit can be found on our channel if you don’t like the 2mins of commuting at the start. Enjoy!
I like this version better to be honest. It really heightens the anticipation of the event to watch a man stare into the darkness for 2 minutes, knowing what's to come, and knowing he's probably thinking something like "I'm about to do the hardest run of my life…" Plus, you get to hear everyone clapping at the end. That part gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Tomorrow on r/thathappened: “A few years ago I raced the tube and won. Got off at Mansion House and sprinted all the way to Cannon Street and managed to catch the same tube I was on. Everyone clapped.”
I'm starting to think "then everyone clapped" is a lot more true than people om the internet think. I've seen people in transit clap for even the most mildy exciting things.
1. I don't like the music 2. First 2 minutes could've been 20 seconds 2. The most "amazing" part is how close the stations are. If it took the runner around 1 minute, it should be 300-400 meters
@@aaaaa7049.1 oh. My experience with the metro in Finland is that when i pay with my phone the ticket is usable for certain time. 1 day ticket costs 4€ and can be used in all public transport in Helsinki. If the conductor asks you for your ticket you need to show it but i have never seen a conductor there.
If you look, there are people in visibility vests at each of the minor intersections. I’m guessing they’re his friends, and checking the roads for him. For that last road, I think it might be one way, and so he only needed to check that one way
Salty Pumpkin thanks, I hadn’t noticed them. For me though, it doesn’t matter. It could be the calmest hour of the day and I’d still be stressed af about him not looking.
Watching the first two minutes is strange because you really get this weird tickly feeling in your legs and you can feel your heart pumping and you are nervous even though it's not *you* who is going to run... Great idea and very impressive how you can run so fast!
Reminded me of last week. I missed the bus I had to take to get to my train (it was 12km to the station). I jumped on my bike. And actually arrived just 30 seconds before my bus at the station. I almost killed myself cycling that fast. (It was for an important meeting btw, which I still missed because I jumped on the wrong train)
@@omarhuda4997 Nope, I did ignore red lights tho. To clarify, the first 7km is a straight road with maybe 4 stops. So that first part the bus is way faster than me. However the last 5km is in a dense populated area with stops every 300-400 meters (And a lot of traffic). So that is where the bike has the advantage.
@@janbamen3704 that's good then. Maybe you should start doing tryouts for amateur cycling competition during weekends. You seem to have the stamina for it.
I love this video and the song. A couple of years back when I practiced for my first half-marathon I always used to listen to this song as my first in the beginning of every run and it gave me so much power and motivation. Don't even know if I would've had the motivation to practice enough without this video and its song.
respect how he actually paid instead of leaping over the ticket gates edit: I’ve come back to this video a year later and this comment somehow has 25,000 likes
Good choice of stations. Covent Garden and Leicester Square are slightly closer but much deeper underground, not to mention all the tourists in the way...
mwjones99 "terrible road layout"! He came out of the station, turned right then left and went down one road! Hardly difficult. Also you can actually walk it in about 5 minutes so they train hardly goes up to any speed before it has to slow down to stop so he was hardly out running a 60mph train.
It’s awesome how everyone in the train (once they had been told what was going on) was so supportive at the end, and no one was grumpy or rude about it!
polar1234 Ugh, again with the sarcasm, I hate when people are sarcastic in a text because you can’t see their expression. And no, I’m serious (not being sarcastic).
