RACER: Nissan GT-R NISMO LMP1 CoTA B Roll 

I'm a Porsche fan, I want their 919 to win Le Mans this year more than ever. BUT with the unveiling of this car, I also want to see nissan do well. FWD, 1250hp, front/mid engined LMP1 car! How much more unique and exciting does it get than that!? Not the sexiest car but damn they're spicing things up for Endurance racing this year.

Ugly, maybe. But the car is growing on me a lot. The tech involved in creating this car is just nothing short of utterly amazing, and yes, I can't wait to see it race!

It looks like the offspring...if you mated a DeltaWing, Panoz and Viper! I agree with spyke0511, it's just different, not ugly. I like Nissan...its good to see them back in LMP1. It would be nice to see Mazda, Mercedes Benz and Peugeot back on the track too!

It doesn't take any guts to do the same thing everyone else is doing. This took guts. I give Nissan credit for trusting their engineers to try something mew even if it fails! If you ain't failing once in awhile, you're not pushing hard enough.

Looks great. Can't wait to see it in amongst the other big boys. Love F1 but it doesn't hold a candle to this anymore.

This awesome car reminds me a lot of the Toyota GT-1 another awesome race car it's also my favorite in Gran Turismo 4

My first thought was: ugly, maybe because of the unusual look. But the longer i stare at it, the more beautiful it becomes. I like hidden beauties.

Just in case people are wondering why it's that drivetrain layout. The engine is small with a shallow V-angle, the gearbox is mounted to the front of the engine and all the cooling (radiators, oil coolers, etc) are at the very front. Both sides of the car are giant funnels that swallow air at the front and channel it at high speed through the sides of the car and out the back above the rear diffuser. The whole aero on the car is one giant double diffuser. Hence the tiny rear planes on the wing. If the car was rear engined the radiators, engine, driveshafts would all get in the way of the airflow and the concept wouldn't work. It's a very risky idea and could either be utter genius or a total failure. You would only need one small leak in the paneling and the aero imbalance would be enormous. My only concern with this car is the tires. They are huge at the front but tiny at the back. Not sure how well these will last, we'll find out at Silverstone. As for the energy deployment the plan is to send the drive to the rear but it looks like it will be directed to the front axle for this year. Good Luck to Nissan for making such an amazing car. Oh and the guy who designed it was also the guy who penned the Deltawing project, need I say any more?! haha.

Ugly? No I would say it is a high technology race car just look at the engine and brakes or the whole chasis just crazy and what's more a 750HP ff race car this is one the future race car born there,congrats to Nissan nismo,damn japan is already in the future yo~nice work japan

Ahh Nissan, so much marketing, so much real world fail. Took a privateer team being your "customer" to actually build a prototype that can grab first once in a while.

Sadly this innovative car had no chance when they ran it without its hybrid system. Setting it up for failure, then sack the development team by email. Nice.

I wish Nissan all the best with this bold, out of the box design. I hope it does well this year, and I'm really curious how they will overcome the wear on the front tires

FRONT TYRES WILL BE WEARING OUT TOO EARLY!!! On the last two years, Nissan introduced "Delta Wing", a "full rear" project even for mass distribution. This year, they moved into a "full front" one. What are they thinking about? Ok, a full front means more grip on the front tires and a better direction, but... which front tire can last more than 30 minutes in a full front race car? I remember that in the former WTCC, Alfa Romeo was one of the best race car for qualifying, BUT their tires used to be burned after 2/3 of those "sprint" races... AND WTCC had less than 300 Horse Power, much less then the half of a Le Mans Prototype. So, what the hell? Can you imagine in a race lasting 24 hours? Nissan should be pitting every 15 minutes, which means 96 pits in the whole race... brilliant video, so with quite soft tyres Nissan can make a good qualify for Le Mans, but... race is another thing ;-)

if this car doesn't prove successful, it can always make a good Batmobile

Why don't you use a tripod? I suppose you want to be taken as a professional - than please carry and employ that tool. Yes, it's heavy, but you choose to do this job.

Interesting car. I wonder how those turbos, belching fire at night will affect the drivers vision? Exhaust dumping to either side of the cockpit (getting sucked inside). Looking forward to watching it run :)

ugly yet powerful and interesting design, FWD so that the engine can help the front tires to grip thus helping to deliver its huge amount of power. I wonder how will it manage to overlap the audi team because with that amount of power it must zip through the gas tank super fast.
