These garage builds are so badass. I love how it shows people that their older dirt bikes can still be excellent. Keep these garage builds coming. It's seriously wonderful content! You guys could incorporate the filming of the build itself too!!
I would never buy the Taiwanese wrench rabbit kit, but use oem parts. The wrench rabbit kit works ok when crank is trued and balanced and installed by a pro mechanic, but most of the time, there is issues with them because people don't take the time to make sure its right with crank etc and boom, but do hear some people like them. Weisco is worse with there cranks, is also made in China or Taiwan.
rebuilt my 98 yz125 craigslist buy with a wrench rabbit kit. never trued the crank, just threw it in straight out of the box, 10 hours of keeping it pinned and still no problems. I don't think all of these magazines would use the kit for their project bikes if they didn't work. 99% of rebuild engine problems is due to installation error by people who call themselves mechanics. At least you mentioned people don't take the time to check it, i'd argue they don't even lube it prior to installation, install it WITHOUT beating on it, actually check the clearances with shims, and maybe break the poor thing in prior to holding the throttle wide open.
