Racer X Films: KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas RAW Supercross Testing Before Anaheim 2

The KTM group with their teams Red Bull KTM, Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas, and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rented out Hemet Supercross on Wednesday this week to get their boys some training time together. We were on hand to catch defending 450SX champion Chase Sexton, current points leader Aaron Plessinger, along with Justin Barcia, Jorge Prado, Malcolm Stewart, RJ Hampshire, Julien Beaumer, and Guillem Farres as they pounded laps out on the rutted test track. With the rain finally subsiding in SoCal, we're looking ahead to a wild weekend of Triple Crown racing at Anaheim 2.

Husky is having a rough year. Someone else pointed out the 450 squad has less points COMBINED that Hunter Lawrence. Hopefully they get snag at least a top 10 at A2

Yeah I watched RM Fantasy earlier, that stat is wild considering Hunter didn’t even make one main! Malcolm in particular has had some seriously bad luck… that has to change. Right? 👀

If he wasn't at least comparable, I wouldn't see him want to do 3 races or his sponsorship let him stay for a 4th race 🤷‍♂️🤘

@@tankeater I mean, isnt comparable quite a steep comparison? Dude was riding a month and a half Supercross while Sexton is the last year champion and did the fastest qualifier and lap race a bunch of times. But if he´s a second slower i´d say that is fantastic tbh, a second a lap slower would be around 7th ish

@@macedhx I'd look at comparable as in he's faster than Juju on a 250 but he loses tenths every section to CS4, AP7, and Stew... Stew is the prime example why you need race laps to see how you truly stacknup! Stew was destroying everybody in December on the test track. But he's like 40 points back after 3 🤦‍♂️🤘

I have always wondered why Barcia points his front downward so much more than other riders. Comfort maybe? I know I like to land rear first in almost all scenarios.

Chase's posture on the bike is so different from all the other riders. His head is angled down quite a bit more than average and it has to affect his field of vision. I can't help but wonder if that's why he's had some of the oddest looking crashes we've ever seen. Go AP!!!

Yup, I remember seeing a picture of him going through a corner and it looks like he looking at his number plate, can definitely see how that can cause crashes as you can't really see what's coming. It's strange though because one of the main things coaches tell you is to look ahead/look where you want to go. Surprised no ones coached it out of him yet tbh

It was said that Chase wanted to be the #1 guy and that's why he left HRC because of Jett and went to Redbull KTM. I know that was 1 reason they said but honestly you look at KTM and he may be the "#1" rider but u ask fans and they still love AP7 more then him because of how great he is with fans on top of being wicked talented.

I’m going to have to say this about Malcolm Stewart. He hasn’t raced a full Supercross/Motocross season since 2013. Until he races all the rounds of Supercross AND Motocross, I call him a sandbagger just trying to extend his career solely for monetary purposes.

That one things that’s gonna keep chase from winning is he’s just to damn serious 24/7 no longer having fun . Puts entirely to much pressure on him self when he shouldn’t. He’s rode Hondas damn near all his career give him a year on a new bike first then see about being so serious next year! My best advice don’t burn him out while he’s still so young !

Chases front end is the stiffest bike I’ve seen since JS7 days, there is zero flex. Makes you wonder why did they go from the factory 52 cones to 48 yet run them just as stiff if not stiffer.
