Rachel: Barb Showed Us What We Didn’t See 

Barb was waaaay out of line. Rachel...I'm surprised by your take on this. Did you consider what Madison just went through? And she still said yes to showing up? Main issue is Barb's codependency with her son. This is NOT her decision...and until he learns that in his life, he will have relationship problems. Time to cut the umbilical cord.

According to Chris Harrison it wasn’t Madison’s fault that they didn’t come in for 3 hours. And she didn’t want to meet his family if they weren’t moving forward.

Sorry but I have a close relative who is exactly like barb and they have a tendency to exaggerate and fabricate stories to suit their needs and control situations as per their liking. I have lived with and seen all these traits... for example the loud hysterical crying and then turning it off on cue. It's just manipulation tactics. Maddy could have addressed it but I have a feeling she was kind of frozen and wasn't comfortable with a back and forth....another possibility is that these issues may have been discussed numerous times before hand and she decided it was enough and she simply wasn't going to address it anymore.

The problem is not what Barb saw or experienced with Madison. A grown woman, mother and elder should not behave that way, it's very immature and tactless. If she had issues, voice them like a mature adult. Barb claims to love he son and want the best for him, but she embarrasses him, claps at his demise and nods in agreement when he's being read for filth and basically called a "boy"? Are you really defending this lady? Wow!!

She met them at the beginning of the season, and she's also not in charge of the production of the show and the camera people so I feel like she had no control over that

I have 2 daughters and a son. I would not want anyone to embarrass my daughter like that on live tv. And if someone didn’t love my son I would question why and if it’s valid (like sleeping around within days of proposal) - I would actually side with the girl and then tell my son- well son, your other ex made a great point “your actions affect other people.” Learn from this mistake and stay single for now.

Rachel is doing a lawyers twist. None of that justifies ripping apart a 23 year old on live TV. I’ve been upset and outraged at people before. If I haven’t had a chance to sit down since the whirl wind of events took place I would be a grown adult (I am a 29 year old mother of 3) and keep my mouth shut until I’ve had an opportunity to address her in private.

I'm a fan of Rachel, but I didn't like how she put all this on Madison. Even Chris Harrison said the 3hrs was caused by production & the fact both Pete & Maddison needed to hash things out. She's basing her recap on what only producers showed. We don't know all the details. I feel Maddison is getting the short end of the stick here.

I agree with Rachel 100 percent. I don't understand why people worship Madison and think she's the victim here, while what happened to Hannah Ann is the same thing that happened to Becca and people are just ignoring it

Not to mention, the parts when she was clapping when her son was getting told off by Hannah Ann. So distasteful in my eyes. I have a son and would never treat him that way. Discuss how you feel behind closed doors or don’t say anything at all and let him make his own decisions in life otherwise he’s going to hold that against you in the future. I’m shocked you back that sort of negative behavior coming from someone who just sat on the same stage and talked about bullying and how it affects people.

She’s exaggerating. Imagine how Madison felt, she was already doubting their relationship because of everything that had been going on so I get that she didn’t want to go inside and talk to them. If I try to put my self in her shoes I wouldn’t want to go in either. How am I going to sit there and express all this love I’m having for their son when all this other stuff is going on. She was just being honest and true to herself which is also exactly why she broke up with him. She’s doomed if she doesn’t want to go in but she’s also doomed if she goes in and is honest about her feelings. Barb is in the wrong here. I want to see her in Madison’s exacts shoes and then say her opinion.

Completely agree with Rachel on this... unfair to attack the mom like that. Madison is so inexperienced in relationships that is shows, she doesn’t know how to handle the parents, you need to understand that these are the parents of your partner not your own, and if you want to really have a relationship with this person you need to contain yourself a little bit and show respect even if you don’t agree with them. She should have just apologized for making them wait and for the confusion this had created and try to move on with Barbara.. why not just say..”it was a difficult moment for me in Australia, I was confused and emotional, I’ll try to show you that I do love your son and I hope we could turn the page”...why not say that to the mom!?!?

Nothing about Barb ripping apart Madison is justifiable. Madison might have been nervous - imagine if you just got engaged to someone and their mother just tore you to shreds in front of a live audience. That’s not an easy thing to respond to. I think Madison did a great job holding it together on tv - if it were me, I definitely would’ve been crying at that point. I love you Rachel but just because you would’ve defended yourself doesn’t mean it comes that easily to everyone else.

A mother in laws job is to swallow and support The first time she met Maddie she was head over heels about her. The reasons Maddie left in the first place was because of all the crap barb put into her head.

Madi met her on the first one on one and she loved her there! Sooooo there’s that! I’m not sure why they keep saying that she needed to meet the parents. And Madi did say she loved him. It was shown on air..... maybe she didn’t hear that part.

Rachel has so much confidence that it turns into arrogance.

The family saw way more than the average viewer and anyone in their shoes would want their child to be loved and not taken advantage of. A lot of things are not adding up with Madison. Also, production can do whatever they want when it comes to story lines and I know how production works and I've seen contracts for reality tv that say video footage can be used in a way that may not pertain to the original content, meaning they can splice it up or use it in a different way. This happens all the time and I completely agree with Barbara's feelings, and yes she did have poor delivery.

Thank God, I no longer support Rachel Lindsay. I cannot believe, that I put in so much work fighting for her and Bryan's love, during and after her season. Biggest mistake of my life, lots of regrets.
