Creative incubator and artistic community Black Iris Music Collective is joining forces with sister company White Iris Records-hailed as "tastemakers" by Vice/Noisey and one of the Top Ten Independent Record Labels in Los Angeles by LA Weekly-to release the self-titled debut EP from Realities on 9/24.
Realities is Matthew "Cornbread" Compton, member of acclaimed rock duo Electric Guest and active composer and performer for the Black Iris Music Collective. Compton collaborates with a number members of the Black Iris community for the Realities EP, including Luke Top of world music-infused psychedelic pop group Fool's Gold, Rachel Fannan of rising LA band Only You, Alex Lilly of Touché and Matt Popieluch of Big Search. The EP is available for purchase via iTunes.
Based out of Los Angeles' Echo Park neighborhood (with satellite studios in Richmond, VA and Brooklyn), the Black Iris Music Collective composes and records music for film, television and advertising by way of a community of composers hailing from a cross-section of the city's critically acclaimed music scene. Black Iris recently handled the music supervision for IFC's hit series "Maron" and composed the music for Canon's Emmy Award-winning "Inspired" campaign (which also featured Only You's Fannan).
