Most of the league didn't think Giannis, Adams, or Gobert would be this good. Practically everyone passed on them! Now, would have preferred McLemore or Noel (both busts) but Len was considered for the #1 pick. Him falling to 5 and being selected wasn't the worst thing. He just didn't pan out.

Calling it now, Bamba will be a far better center in the nba than Ayton. I think Doncic Bagley Jackson jr and Michael Porter jr will end up having much better rookie seasons

Love when analyst talk about drafts and go all the way down to guys at the end of the first round to state a player should have went ahead of a guy. Even Giannis, I don't recall ever seeing any scout or franchise saying he was going to be a star, just that he had a lot of upside. You can't just draft on upside, and there is no way of knowing guys like Gobert become stars. Always nice to talk about drafts with hindsight, as if anyone in the world, other then these guys mom's, would take them that high going into that draft.

Looking back on it..I get the sense like Luka's team didn't want him to get drafted by the Suns or Kings. They wanted to avoid those two team and end up in Dallas. They wanted Rick Carisle,they wanted Mark Cuban,they wanted that organization...and they wanted that storyline from Dirk to Luka.

First off TJ Warren was definitely NOT a bust. Second, as someone who lives in Chandler, AZ. I'm not from AZ nor am I Suns fan but I CAN tell you that if the Suns pick any other players other than Deandre Ayton they will regret it. Thats not to say that the other players suck because they don't. I just really believe if they pick up Deandre he and Devin Booker together will be a force I promise you. Along with Josh Jackson coming along nicely. This team will mirror the Shaq & Pennys Orlando Magic teams. Edit: Luka is clearly the better player right now, he is the most NBA ready but as far as a better systematic position filler that would fit better with the Suns talent right now? Deandre Ayton. Suns need weight on those boxes down low anyway, Tyson Chandler getting old.

This video became unwatchable after the T.J. Warren comment. That was a great pick. And on top of that, Alex Len was disappointing, but so was all the other picks the suns could reasonably see as options that year. It was a weird draft for sure.

You know what that's a good idea to slow tanking teams if your in the lottery 5 years in a row they should lose the next first round pick the following year just one.
