Rachel Zegler singing Somewhere from West Side Story

Rachel Zegler, who's playing Maria in Steven Spielberg's new West Side Story film (out December 2021), played the role a few years ago in Bergen Performing Arts Center's Performing Arts School production while she was in high school. She was 16 during this performance, in the summer between her sophomore and junior years.

So it’s clearly two different girls singing. And neither of them is the girl playing Maria

No, you’re right, it’s the two women that you can clearly see at either side of the stage

Yeah Maria usually only sings at the very end

Her voice is just okay-it’s shrill. Our HS performed WSS. The Maria was so much better

Maria is not singing here, it's the girls on both sides of the stage. Rachel was a little off in this performance but watch her in the movie, she's perfect...or a bunch of other stuff she's sang online
