Rachelle is such a gem even if her style isn’t for everyone. Fearless and the perfect example of what true jazz and the blues are. Not following typical song structure, improvisation on the spot, and not caring about sounding “ugly”. She’s literally just letting the music flow through her and take control.
She is a vocal beast and a musical genius. Be careful when you give an experimental, fearless spirit with a voice like that a good jazz education 😂 Honestly, if someone wants to discover all the extraordinary sounds a human voice can produce, they should just browse your channel for a day.

You must be young. Rachelle is famous and very. She came out in the 90's and was the hottest thing in music. However she left the industry because it was not a fit for her. So she just started doing gigs and festivals in various counties. Your welcome.

I remember watching her on Soul Train in the 80s. I was in elementary. But I knew what good singing was. I remember her saying that as a child, she spent lots of time in nature. She would imitate the sounds of nature. It's clear today. She sings with her whole being. No auto tune like the "artists" today. I still love her as a 46 year old woman.

Rachelle, in my opinion, has a Ph.D in vocal acrobatics. Her approach and the way she feels music is apart of her performance. Even if it takes her through her full range and tricks. I don't think her performances are ever boring or the same. I had the pleasure to see her live once and she's like poetry! I appreciate you appreciating her! Always been one of my faves she broke free from the industrys grip after her first albulm..... she wen through hell get out of her first contract to have full creative control of her career, her look and style ....notice she got rid her that relaxer they put in her hair ...this is why she is not a superstar ..she explained all of this at one of her early concerts inwen to early 2000s

fun story - i was walking in georgetown in like 1999, went down a back street that happened to be where blues alley was. A very cute, little woman (like 5'1) walks past me and gives me a beautiful smile and says warmly: "Hi, How you doing"...I spoke back in customary DC greeting (which is matching energy), gave her a smile and said : "fine hunny, how are you". she passes by me and i say to my friend walking with me: "she looks familiar"...why I turn around and see the sign above blues alley that says: FEATURING TONIGHT RACHELLE FERRELL...I lose my shit! IT WAS HER!!!! She's long gone by the time it clicked!
I want to like her because her instrument is so extraordinary and I love vocalist who can deliver live but her vocal acrobatics take over any melody a song has and it becomes a distraction
