This has long been my favorite of Rachmaninov's Preludes and one of my most-loved solo piano works. I've now heard this and the recorded version, and both are wonderfully lyrical and tender. Nobody plays the piece so movingly. Thank you, Mr. McCawley.

Just wonderful! You are a professional, dedicated, concert pianist. Only the highest praise is accorded to you. I'm glad to stumble upon your own website when looking for Rachmaninov Op 23 #2. I remember you from the 1980's entering the Leeds Piano Competition, or it was the very late 1970's. I might even have a VHS video recording if it. I shall explore your your website when I have a moment. Thank you, just great! Perry (London)

I think this is my favourite of Rachmaninov's preludes, and this performance is just sublime. Wonderful.

Very beautiful. Your sound gave me comfort. I am lucky to have found you on RU-vid. I went to your concert when I had been living in London 20 some years ago. You played Mozart. It was very refreshing and sparkling.

Mr.Leon McCawley, SO SOULFUL AND WONDERFUL AS ALWAYS, MAESTRO!!!!! Thank you for your magnificent playlist "Rachmaninov Piano Music", for all four my favourite his great Preludes in excellent your renditions, of course, my new big "like-thumb up-upvote"33 for your sublime interpretation and again I added your video to my playlist "My Favourite Classical Music" (already I have 53 videos on my new playlist "Mr.Leon McCawley"), btw. I don't understand, every day I listen to your different performances, but the number of views is constant (about 28.300 views, why?), probably RU-vid takes time to "refresh" it, again my best regards from Poland, have a happy week. Aah.. gorgeous, thanks so much Leon! I well remember that bottom D in the left hand, and having to travel two octaves up in every bar... I remember mastsering it after some persistent practising blind. Will you not let us hear a couple of the pieces you would have played yesterday..? Please? xx

Thank you so much, Siva! Well, I listened to your request and have posted some of the repertoire on here that I should have played at Wigmore Hall earlier this month. Hope you like them! xx

This is my favorite Prelude from Op. 23 and I think you captured it perfectly. Incredible touch, emotion, lyricism, and restraint. Bravo!! Leon, perhaps I could suggest that you create an Instagram to reach a wider audience--the world deserves your music. So glad I discovered you!
