The selfless acts of the teenagers who swam out to stay with the children are remarkable. And such a speedy recovery by the rescue team is really awesome. I am so happy they were all brought back safely. We really need to hear more stories of good will and encouragement during these days of dreadful events and pandemics. God Bless each and everyone. Wow thanks to the young guys who actually spotted the children and then went to look after them till the Life boat crew arrived.. I really felt for the dad who I could see how much it had affected him. I could feel the emotion in his voice. So glad that we have brave men who go out in dangerous circumstances to save others lives... Thank you so much to all involved for the happy ending... Respect to you RNLI.. 🙏

I donate monthly. I sail the Solent and have seen you folks in action. I was talking with a publican in Cowes who had just served me a beer after a day on the water. I was telling him of an amazing rescue I saw whilst a yacht sank just west of Cowes. The guy pointed to his bleep on his belt. “That was you?” ‘Ordinary’ people doing extraordinary work.

Lets hope he wears a life jacket from now on. Would have sucked if the kids had to watch their dad drown and then got rescued minutes later.

I feel for this dad. I feel for his children. I am grateful for the excellent work the rescuers do. I can't begin to think of an adequate way of thanking those teens for what they did. Having said all of that, I get really tired of people that think they can go out with their kids and play on their own 'private island's for a bit. These are tidal islands idiots!! They are very well posted. Yet every year people get stranded. Get a brain in that empty space on your shoulders and pay attention. People do not easily survive these situations. Playing with Mother Nature can come at a great price. Imagine how those people on the rescues feel when they don't manage to save someone.
