As a classic Test Drive Unlimited fan, I hope there's still offline single-player. The problem with games that are "always online" isn't that I don't have an Internet connection on my computer, it's simply that I still want to be able to play the game after the servers are shut down however many years from now. Just as I can still play the original 2006 Test Drive Unlimited in 2023, I still want to be able to play the 2024 version of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown in 2041.
I agree. The problem is that many players of today's generation don't see/understand that. They think that because they have a good internet connection it is a guarantee that they can play the game forever. They start crying when the developer pulls the plug on the servers after a few years and their favourite game becomes unplayable. But many people don't think that far ahead and only notice when it's too late. That's why having good single-player content is so essential.
For those who are into online play, Ivory Tower have that covered. Those players aren't going to give TDU SC a second look. Just look at the reaction to Motorfest gameplay vs to TDU SC gameplay. TDU SC simply can't compete. Nacon have to go for the features that Ivory Tower had to leave out. Personally, I loved Motorfest after playing the beta but some features were sorely missing, like an ignition button, rolling windows, manually activated wipers (on older models) and convertible tops, a custom music folder or playlist, custom day/night cycle with the possibility of syncing it with my local clock, custom weather cycle, player homes, etc... As amazing as Motorfest was, I'd settle for less of what it's great at in exchange for features that will allow me to enjoy driving my way, the way TDU did.
Yeah makes sense here and well said, I think it's safer to avoid the online only thing, however considering there is ranked, and ofc online racing, they have to do well with reducing cheaters if this isn't online only. That is what made TDU2 so piss poor in the online scene, especially in the CRC. Cheaters were also the reason the servers went down when TDU2 first launched. It's going to be an interesting thing when the game comes out. I hope they can make everyone happy (which is impossible anyway haha) with whatever decision they go for.
@@TheAlexVII I get it but, as an offline single player kind of guy, people who cheat online aren't really relevant to me and I feel measures taken to reduce or eliminate online cheating shouldn't preclude having solo single-player offline. They should just have offline single-player with a separate progression from the online career or sell an offline-only version for those of us uninterested in online play.

I think nacon and KT needs to improve the marketing of the game and listen to our feedback were giving them because that's the only way the game can succeed. The whole racing community needs to improve as a whole as some people take the criticism too far
It’s not just the racing community it’s the gaming community in general it’s the comparisons to other games that have gain a massive amount of mainstream success. These same people weren’t doing none of the comparison stuff when those games first dropped or when it was in beta stages. People in the gaming community need to stop comparing games and look at a game for what it is and talk about the weaknesses, strengths and what they can do to be better for what they’re trying to do. That’s the problem too much of this comparison Bs I tend to do it too from time to time but I’m not serious. I’m just talking to myself the problem is people come online and put comparisons online and have people taking it literally. Then you have people create a negative narrative on a game. It’s one of the reasons why so many AAA games don’t even have to try to make good games anymore. It’s because fans help them to do destroy the competition. Gamers are their own worst enemy you cry about every AAA game being soulless and not caring about the games like they use too but every time someone tries to take a step and make a better game. Here you guys come instantly comparing them to the biggest games in that genre???
I absolutely still cannot wait for this game and even if the connect wasn’t executed the best, it doesn’t mean the overall game will be bad. I just want this game to do well and have extended playability. Sure KT and Nacon might not be the at the level of AAA games. However, I think in many ways we’re underestimating them. They’ll have to think outside the box to make their game stand above other popular racing titles. The biggest improvement needs to drastically be marketing. I feel like this game is still nearly a secret EVEN after the connect event. Needs a serious revamp with trailers on RU-vid ads, revealing gameplay and specific details and the social aspects of the game at the very least. I’m still extremely hype and ready for the beta and to purchase the game.
I believe what's essential right now is improved communication and possibly giving a sincere ear to those who genuinely want this game to reach its highest potential. Developers should not let negative messages like "this game sucks just because I said so" bother them too much. These kinds of messages are often baseless and fueled by irrational negativity, lack of knowledge or just pure ignorance. Those criticizing have most likely no idea how the development of a game works and wrongly label their "feedback" as "constructive criticism." I understand that expecting top-tier results from smaller game studios in these days might not be realistic (looking at you, Baldur's Gate 3), we really should avoid setting our expectations exceedingly high. However, it's important to know that these developers own the rights to a game / make that once redefined the boundaries of racing and gaming as a whole. Consequently, the developers (must and) feel significant pressure and tons of burden if they screw it up. Yet, insisting on more improvements solely for nostalgic reasons might not yield positive outcomes. If necessary, they should also be allowed to extend the development period, focusing on both thorough polishing and adding meaningful elements that involve the community in this process by seeking input, rather than hurrying to release a product that requires frequent patches and will face... an eventual abandonment, just like it happened to TDU and TDU 2, where both were just products of greedy companies whose prefered to kill the games instead of extending their support. Still, very good products, but... something that should never happen to any game, at least not so quickly after its premiere. And yes, I know that demanding "oh, I want this, this and this" is cool, but it isn't the right way to go. If I wanted a game that has NFS Porsche's handling, then.... I would most likely install and (try to) play NFS Porsche. If I wanted good sounds, I would probably install a game that has those good sounds, same goes to the game looks. But I hope that the new TDU will make at least some good compromises on that field in its development time and connect these elements. And if they do that in a good way, it'll be better for both sides.
One thing I don't like about nacon listening to close to the community is that there's no vision for what the game is supposed to be, I think they should listen to the community as long as it doesn't go against the original vision of the game's creative director.
Agreed. It’s also worth noting not every idea has to make it into the game or makes sense from a development standpoint. Maybe it’s not even possible or within the scope of the game. I think communities should influence the game in a way that isn’t detrimental to the overall game.
Yes and I hope that they realise this and try not to please everyone. Of course they're probably not used to this much of community engagement but I'm so glad they are taking in opinions and suggestions because not every developer is so transparent with their community. But personally I agree so much with losing direction because I feel like for example no man's sky the original game wasn't supposed to be about base building but eventually they added it and so many features that people asked for and although it's nice to have them the game completely lacks direction in my opinion and it's just a huge combination of different gameplay systems that kind of feel almost overwhelming. And none of them are particularly excellent, although good. And in return exploration, which was major theme of the original direction, was neglected and not really paid attention to anymore.
Really hope that TDUSC will do good. Really waited for a game like that for a long time and maybe it will add Hong Kong to my travel bucket list, like it did with Ibiza and Oahu :D The TDU Connect was not good. The idea to have a chill session, maybe would be good, if it would be closer to release, maybe including community members via discord and so on. You did a far better job of a first gameplay reveal. The key word here is first reveal. But the community could really do better. I know that gaming and automotive communities in the internet are very toxic. But even for the low bar - the response was crap. Especially with "Vivian", obviously she is a stunning woman, but some comments I've seen are creepy AF.

You can't remove features from a game in a sequel. The player base and reviews will always point it out. Instead of making empty headquarters for the streets and smarts, they could have put the effort into making 4 houses. Marketing is non-existent.
Removing the HQs is basically removing another feature from the TDU franchise, clubs, which is something a lot of us still want. There’s a ton of TDU features, they all take time to implement and develop. The time it takes to make houses with the necessary features is also more complicated than the HQs.
Houses were in tdu1. It's a core feature of the franchise. The hotel rooms already have some of the features that are useful for housing. Anyway I don't want to hate on the game but tdu without houses is just not tdu. That's all. Marketing as always been bad with all tdu games. Tdu1 probably got the most marketing as it was an early xbox 360 title.

@@sophisticated I agree houses are essential, but this was the compromise I think they had to commit to considering this entire game is crom scratch. They won't have time to do everything and I understand that, which is why i say the hotel + garages is an okay compromise, for me at least until we see houses. I'm hopeful that this game is going to easily be the best arcade racer since tdu stopped, as I have been repulsed by seeing the crew motorfest (the crew 2.5) and how little of an improvement it seems to be. We need a proper driving game again 💯
About pedestrians, the city on HKI is definitely a place that would feel like somethings missing without pedestrians. However, TDU2 never had pedestrians either. So in my opinion a better thing would be to increase traffic especially in central areas. The city should feel alive and busy. But pedestrians would definitely add life to the city.
Fans really need to do better, thats for sure. But unfortunately you cant make everyone happy and there are going to be people complaining about everything. Unfortunately some fans are just toxic af. No matter what developers do.

I saw the reactions to SC gameplay streams, and then I saw the reactions to Motorfest gameplay streams. The least I can say is that it's going to be an uphill battle for TDU SC. Their best bet, at least to avoid a humiliating rout, is to postpone release until people feel MF fatigue. Otherwise, few people are going to give SC a second look. Motorfest's weakness comes from its online-only, one size fits all, dumbed down approach that made The Crew impressive at first but quickly underwhelming after a few sessions. Personally, I only want TDU 1 with customizable day/night and weather cycles, a focus on driving immersion, not racing, and to be left alone, not swarmed by other human players (probably the one thing I really hated in the MF beta).

the thing is, listening to the community is not that simple. There are many heads, many requests, if you blend all the requests and come up with an average you end up with soulless games like horizon and the crew. Sometimes it's best not to listen to the community and just trust your vision for the game. That's how masterpieces are made.
Agreed! Not every idea will fit the scope of the game and sometimes, devs can adjust ideas to fit the direction of the game. It’s up to us to give feedback and ideas, the devs know the game more than us, so they do the rest :)

Hopefully, if things go as planned and they plan to expand the map, they can maybe consider Oahu and Ibiza yet again. That would be really nostalgic going back to a 1:1 scale map of these two places.
Honestly hope their will be customization on this game. And not just the generic customization of games now a days although they are important for personalizing your vehicle but real world customizations with every detail of a vehicle. From customizing or personalizing guages according to whats available in real life to shifters. Placing handbreaks from next to you to next to the steering. Replacing the shifter nobs or handrbake handle. Adding gauges in the vehicle and gps so that the hud can disappear if you so chose. I know this seems like a stretch but a menu for the radio to place where youd like to hear the radio with headsets whiles hearing the engine in the front and hearing the exhaust depending on where the exhaust is placed. Adding neons in the interior. This game is possible of being the best real life simulator not just for racing but just driving in general. This could be the game we go back to 5 to 10 years from now. For the dream cars we wish to have in real life and how itll become in comperison visually and using tuning specs. To the dream cars we all know well never have. Honestly this time between graphics vs gamplay were all in. If this game can focus on what your able to do whiles keeping true to its real life components. With their next game. Theyll have the foundation for pure graphic esthetics. Whiles copy and pasting the accessability and phyisics of the current game living up to its realistic standarts. And the only thing the developers would have to concern themselves with at the time of the next game. Will be keeping up with the technology that will be released at that time. If this doesnt sound like the absolute best way to go about this game with every update being a genuinely new way to creat accessability like changing a shifter, placing a handbrake. The difference between using straight cut gears and the sound that comes from it. Learning the specific way you use straight cut gears whiles driving with a steering set up because their is or itll not go into gear. Its a gearbox that needs timing and force. This game could end up developing the technology we use to today like force feedback on a shifter. I dont think people realise how arcade games slowed down the way we think and feel things. I truly believe that this game solely because of how realistic it is so far could push an industry just by simply exploring the small things other games have failed so often doing.

To come home and put on some music weather it was a bad day or a good one. To choose to drive slow and get lost in the car sounds and interior in its openworld that could hopefully be expanded overtime instead of companies just making more games and loosing more people in the community. Letting the game evolve as gta online or asseto corsa with its togua maps or underground 2 remake maps and all the others. If this game could evolve the way one would imagine a racing game could. This will be the best game to have ever come out. The potential is there. Its present as we speak. Launching the game doesnt end that potential thanks to the technology now a days. What more could one get lost in if a game gives accessibility to make something yours whiles keeping it so increadibly realistic and yet emersive and having the option to push it to its limit in a straight line or corner. Feeling how the power pushing the car forward whiles knowing the outcome is completely yours. We used to fall inlove with a game in our childhood and get so hype because you drifted around a corner perfectly whiles everyone else looses there mind watching knowing that it was all you controlling a car and knowing that car out the love you have for it. You cant get that from an arcade game. It takes actual understanding that games dont offer anymore because of this split between sim and arcade. Like i said the potential is here for any kind of driver. Theres enough arcade games out there to keep plug play handling players at bay and hopefully far away from here till everyones here and they start catching on if this game moves forward in this way.
Trolls in the gaming community are terrible they help destroy the competition I want to play more games besides Forza, NFS and The Crew. I want to play a game outside the of the normal racing experience. This game has its own lane I hate people comparing games to the biggest games in the market. This game would be the GTA experience outside of the crime aspect it would focus solely on the cars and driving part of GTA that GTA doesn’t do particularly well because it’s a hyperrealistic open world crime simulator. Both games have similar aspects but it’s two totally different games. GTA is a hyperrealistic open world crime simulator. TDU is a hyperrealistic open world car simulator. The word that separates both is crime and car GTA has always been dedicated to the crime aspect of life. TDU has always been dedicated to the car enthusiasts side of life.
right now there are a lot of racing titles overshadowing TDU SC but mark my words its gonna be a LONG lasting game. i can swear on that, from what i've seen in TDU2 they are WAAAY ahead of the game.
I mean - they have a roadmap of what to do. TDU2 was great and there was a lot of things I wish I could do more in it. Houses are missing and hopefully coming - cars don't have their respective spedometer in third person etc.
In fairness, their game is launching in like 2 weeks, but Ubisoft will always have a larger marketing budget available for a game compared to Nacon. Though I'm sure when we are 3 months from launch, closing in on a week before launch, we'll see a massive difference in marketing.

I won't like this test drive if I can't do this: As soon as I enter the game I want to be in my apartment with a panoramic view and luxurious furnishings, then I go to the garage, once I have chosen the car, I go around with my avatar, open the doors, turn it on and go (after reeving the engine ). Once out I ride around Honk Hong and then take the uphill roads towards the center of the island. Then I'd go (still driving) to a dealership to fix up the car to buy, then realize I'm poor (casino's fault) and go racing and do boring stuff. For me this Test Drive has enough aspects to make up for the differences between Ohau and Ibiza's TDU's. How you play defines the fun you get, so i'll be with the sharps.
Great video Alex well said , Nacon needs to start stepping up in terms of communication but lately i seen some delays and they are all over the place releasing games ,so something is up internally. The discord to me at this point has become a hype and hopeless place , no updates ,news nothing , so I'll keep my activity to a minimum , keep up the good work bro (NeoIX)

I've been playing pausing on every part of tdusc noticing it's individual detail on every building and it looks very well detailed on nearly every building. I've also watched a lot of Hong Kong real life buildings finishes and styles of each building in you tube and tdusc has done a very comparable look to real life honk kong. It just needs people and stormy weather adding in. Midnight club los Angelis put pedestrians on in 2008

I think it looks amazing my biggest concern is license plates, because it really doesn’t feel like I own the car when the license plate says “TEST DRIVE” ruins the immersion

The Crew 2 has pedestrians and yeah this is pretty necessary for the type of environment that TDUSC is to feel real, more so than modelling/texturing detail etc. They're the type like in Crazy Taxi and Midtown Madness, the jumpy kind, which is great. Mhm will i buy a game without pedestrians? It's possible because like Forza Horizon and earliier TDU games don't have them but also things are moving on, we have had a decade plus of really expansive open-world adventure games with driving which set expectations... like i want to have more reasons to buy the game and be immersed in the game not fewer :D Another suggestion i saw is that people want to see NPCs do activities and react to driver like in Watch_Dogs series where they whip out a camera if you do something weird, but that is... well Watch_Dogs games lean heavily on environmental AI and the complexity of the systems their engine offers is immense (and more often than not goes unnoticed unless it goes wrong), so it may be a little far fetched to expect a little driving/racing game to go all the way there. But as an aspirational goal perhaps something to keep in mind.
That immersion of seeing NPC take pic of my cad (I think I saw this in gta too) but I’d love to see something like that, makes the whole world feel so alive

Keep up the good work for those People, we do appreciate it! As for tdu, pedestrians would be indeed a game changer. It would also be cool if you could customize your garage, into some kind of giant mancave. Hang out there with co-players, maybe add a minigame like a dart, biljart or pinnball machine. To keep a highscore competition. I do like the idea of bikes as well, but prefer street bikes. Japanese and italian Sportsbikes, some oldtimer classics, and even chopper styled motorcycles to hang around, hong kong island.
Man see this is what I mean! Imagine being able to customize your garage or arrange your vehicles in a certain way instead of slots in the garage. On one hand I wish we had houses at launch, but on the other I am excited to see what KT does with houses in TDU SC! Tdu2 was supposed to have house mini games too

Alex, you seem honest and your intentions are good but honestly I am not sure that Nacon/KT top management deserves that trust right now. The history showed that they tend to be out of reality (Gollum, Blood bowl, AFL, and so many games). But I hope you will be right at the end. Plus, it's hard to judge communuty reaction when even the publisher is really far from being clean. The virtuous cycle needs to start somewhere.. By the way, do you think that summer strikes at KT will impact the release of the game ? Tricky question, I know...
thank you! And that's fair, can't speak for the other games honestly, just TDU SC itself. The strikes were 1 day walk outs based on what some site said, and they only did it twice so I doubt it really affected much. The union hasn't posted since last month so I assume it was resolved, or at least hope it was.
Because many people simply don't know anything about game development but think they do. Graphics are usually the last thing to be polished. I'm not a developer either. But I am very interested in that subject and soak up information where I can. People should perhaps first get a better understanding of something before they start ranting on...
I'm not going to lie when I saw the gameplay footage I was praying that the nostalgia would resonate within me, it did when you guys were walking around the interiors of the buildings, I could hear that TDU2 jangle when you are walking around your crib, but as soon as you guys started driving unfortunately there was nothing, it's hard to put my finger on it but maybe the too futuristic UI elements that make it feel like the game is set in cyberpunk, coupled with the camera angle that's too low compared to older TDU titles. If they can't do something as simple as make custom speedometers for each car, then is it really a TDU game, are they doing what Eden did?
If someone wanted to be cynical they might claim that no season pass is a sign of continued issues with future planning given the current commitment to release dates and newsletters. It's unreasonable to expect monthly content updates from a game this large beyond emergency hotfixes.
Hahaha indeed, and as for updates, I think 3 months of large content is fine, but we need smaller updates in between to keep it going in fairness. Doesn’t need to be anything big.
I hope it will have very similar physics as Assetto Corsa. Id like free reign on customizations, and a big drifting comminuty like Assetto. Also lots of touge racing with competitions
Devs need to listen to the community and gamers need to create real criticism. They need stop just getting online talking and typing nonsense. Sit back and think about if you were creating a product. You put it out in the world you think you put your all into that product and want feedback. Everybody online is calling your product trash it’s dogshit and it needs to be like this company’s product. How on earth are you supposed to gain insight on those comments? You can’t that’s just people hating on your product. Now if someone starts talking about the weakness and the strengths in your product and what you can do better that’s totally different. You can learn from that you can’t learn from people just calling your stuff trash and comparing it to the biggest company closest to your product in their eyes. It works both ways Devs need to listen and give the community what they want because you can have a vision but at the end of day your fans are who are playing the game everyday. If you put some out and it’s not what they like the game will flop because you didn’t listen to feedback. State what you want to do as Devs and the community give realistic feedback based on what the devs vision are it’s that simple think before you speak think before you type destroying smaller studios online is why AAA studios don’t even have to try to make good games anymore fans destroy the competition for them.

Nah bro this game cannot be bigger than motorfest in anyway. It doesnt hold the potentials. I have played test drive series. Motorfest has alot of contents and features to beat any racing games atm. My hype for this game since last year was killed when i saw the gameplay. Racing games has evolved way more than what we saw
You've summed up pretty well why I don't count myself as part of the "community" and don't want to. I just want to enjoy my favourite games. I have nothing to criticise about the graphics of DTU-SC. Many people unfortunately confuse graphics quality with game quality. A game can look as pretty as ever. If the gameplay is no good, you can forget about it. As far as the Steam forums are concerned, you can pick any game you like. Some idiots always find a reason to push their political ideology. Be it the story of TLOU, the character customisation of Forza Horizon, or whatever. These are just two examples of games I've seen.

It seems TDU SC is following its own league once again, which so far is good, it's how it should be! I have really high hopes for TDU SC man, especially seeing how it evolves a year after, 2 years after, etc!
Was the tdu SC reveal event good marketing? Not really, it was a bit too chaotic and maybe didn't show the game in the best light possible, but as consumers that's not what we should be after. It was a good and honest event showing how the game plays in a non controlled setting, and I think it did well. It looked good graphically in my opinion, the world looked good and the gameplay systems and level up things looked engaging. I'm looking forward to it. One thing I'm worried about though, where is August newsletter or are there not gonna be any?
The gameplay in the background and the mustang screenshot made me want to play TDU SC. Weekly screenshots should really happen because they'd make me and many other people more hyped for the game. The community's reaction is also really funny, almost everyone just complained about the graphics everywhere and just called the game shit. On the youtube chat, on discord, on twitter and probably even on instagram. I don't really understand what games these people play where they're just gonna call an already graphically good looking alpha game shit because i think it does look pretty good, and they have about 6 months to still improve it. But if the game is good which i think it will be, i don't have to care about those comments anyway
If there will be an option for using clutch, car start/stop, car delivery missions, hitch hiker missions, I’ll be happy. Like the missions can come after launch, but the clutch system really should be there at launch. What that dude said about RDR2 is such a load of BS. Some peoples children. Personally, I enjoyed the showcase. Was it perfect? No. But I think going down the path of being extremely negative and trashing every little thing is pointless, childish, and as a long time fan of this series I was disappointed to see people being so wild in the comments. Dev moral is an important thing and we should be gassing them up so they actually WANT to deliver the community the best game possible. I think this toxic negativity in the gaming community in general just needs to stop because it's giving spoiled child. @@TheAlexVII yes definitely, me too! The way I look at it is that gamers technically are not owed these games. In a way, these companies (especially medium and smaller studios such as this case) are taking on a huge financial risk by deciding they want to deliver a game to the community. I think people need to keep that in mind.
Alex only you've seen other parts of tdusc playing the game I can't follow how much still needs to be done to finish the game it's my first choice of game I'd love to play only to put up with the waiting I've got starfield I'm playing 1st September also Forza Motorsport 4th October. It's too long for me to wait for tdusc not knowing if it will or won't come out march 2024. I'm guessing the nacon have made it too hard for you to truly say how finished or unfinished tdusc is. There's one person who waited too long for starfield I don't know him only he died of cancer recently. I've been playing games since my late 20s I'm now 64 years old.

As for TDU SC, I think the current release date 'Early 2024' (was it early or spring they said I forgot lol) but I think it's possible they can get the game to a point where it's good there. I don't see a second delay happening honestly, and even financially and marketing wise, I can't see them delaying it again
I've seen what I wanted to see from trailers, letters and gameplay and I like it. At this point I can forget about this game and wait until it's release, because I absolutely trust KT on this one, and also because time feels slower when you're waiting for something to happen.
I think Nacon should hire you as the community manager, I swear if you deliver the communities messages and requests to the game and provide these updates, the game would destroy the market. Pitch yourself and this idea to them.

I feel like we should just ignore the people who say it looks like a mobile game or how it's worse than mario kart running on their grandma's toaster. You can make up this shit infinitely and in the end youre saying nothing, and it should be regarded as that. It's just unwanted noise that someone's writing because they have a bad day or want to get attention online or they are frustrated that the game doesnt meet their unrealistic expectations at an alpha stage. I don't know the reason for people writing shit like this but I don't think it matters and it should just be ignored. And I am still blown away how people can say the game looks bad graphically. I genuinely think it looks better than FH5 which I've played at ultra settings at 3440x1440 resolution. I get that people have different opinions but I cannot understand it. Only thing that's worse is maybe the draw distance. But yeah. You should also take some examples of constructive criticism and positive comments in your video so we don't focus too much on the negative. Maybe people will then also understand how being a reasonable human being is also an option.

I think 3 months before launch is when they really show us what’s up with the marketing budget, but for this moment I still hope they ramp it up a little more
Not gonna lie people need to calm down with the idea of constant updates. You don't need any kind of updates every 2 weeks or even monthly. You just need a solid game with enough of a good atmosphere/premise to keep you playing. This is why the old NFS games worked so well. 3 months updates is perfect. It works excellently for TC2. There's no need to constantly need stimulation. If you are playing the game 3 hours a day, take a break and play or do something else; come back to it and you'll have fun again. e.g. if this game has excellent multiplayer racing, you could spend a lot of time in that. You don't need constant updates for a good platform
For a game like TDU in fairness, I think having at least some smaller content in between the big content drops helps. I mean literally every game is doping that, including TC2, and even TCM when it launches. Not asking for much, but even like some clothes and cars in between the big content drops is fine.
I hope that they take something like horizon’s driveatars (but not so erratic) just so there is interactable ai (as on you can convoy) and maybe offline car meets in single player for people like me with shit Australian internet

How do people interpret "no season pass" as "no microtransactions"? If anything, it's the opposite. If that's supposed to be a several-years long live service/MMO then they want a constant stream of revenue from it. Which means, instead of paying like $30 for a year worth of content, you'll be paying a few bucks for every single piece of content they release - a car, a bodykit, an event, or even a set of cloths, a haircut, or a house. As for "new content every 3 months", let alone "large content drops every 3 months", - how can anyone expect that when they can't even release a single damn newsletter in three months after promising it once a months.
newsletters don't really have a correlation to the content drop updates but I can understand your worries, only seeing it done in action can set you in a better place in fairness. As for MTX, they won't do stuff like that, I'm certain of it. Again hard to say without seeing, but hopefully you see when the game launches

They didn't keep their promise for something big, like a release date, and they also didn't keep their promise for something small, like a newsletter once a month. It just tells me that they are bad at making promises that I can trust and their "we will" is more like "we wish", so everything can change at any moment.

No, you can't do that. Just because my opinion on the game differs from someone else's doesn't mean that I and that person don't know what we, individually, want.
Yes I can agree with what you say, I meant it more in generalisation in terms of people saying they don't like the roads on the map, or the map is trash, etc etc. When the map itself really isn't all that. It is small, I can agree, but it isn't trash because of that.
