All these are in the British military, they are supposed to be trained in the use of military weapons, unless they are orderly, working on medical or food distribution, if she was train with military weapons, how can any carry out racial discrimination against you, with weapons in your hand. Strange,
@@thecaptain4184Are the weapons meant to be turned against your colleagues or used against the enemies of Britain? If you are bullied the normal thing is to report to higher authority and if they do nothing ,as in her case, you quit.
Unfortunately, it is not only in the army, I bet even in the GOOD Morning Britain studio racism is their... only few (1%) white people have a slight idea of being treated like you are not human...
This is the key reason people of colour declined to join the armed forces in the UK. It is not an isolated case. A common issue that refuses to be eradicated within such institution.
Britain is easily one of the least racist countries in the world. Can u guess which country’s routinely don’t permit different races to be in government or in police? Can u guess which countries will put up prices in shops as they see ur skin colour? can u guess which countries routinely road block u and ask for a toll just because they see the colour of the drivers skin? …. So please don’t go around calling Britain a racist country when it’s easily the lowest on the list. And you will no doubt pretend the above examples of racism is just fine when it’s absolutely not. Racism is weaponised in Britain and in certain countries it’s a daily practice that’s expected
@@Fab666.Are you a personal of coulor if you are not you will never know what you will never face only People of coulor can comment for a facto, sorry dear Sir ir madam
I am a teacher and I experienced unfair treatment and bullying by my seniors. When I complain they behave as if I'm delusional. It is painful, and we are not delusional
In my years in the profession, I know I had to fight three times as hard as others to move up the pay scale. The worst for me was the once patronising statement made to me. It started by 'We don't see you as......' That actually has stayed with me. The very young NQT in me was scared to say how I felt in that moment. The now mature me would never have stood for that nonsense! You are doing a great job!
As a British Army veteran, I’m not surprised. The only option would have been to change units or transfer to a different regiment, but there would be no guarantee that the same thing wouldn’t happen again. The military recruits normal people from across the country and some of these people bring their racism with them. I’m glad she got out when she did and I hope she can find a sense of purpose in a new vocation.
@@oldneo4309 absolute facts. The Bible says "their words were smoother than butter but war was in their hearts". Nothing will change until our people unite and move on one accord
So proud of her, we know racist always deny racism, and claim it’s not real. When it clearly is, one step at a time as Toni Morrison said a few generations in the future this ideology will die along with European colonialism ideology.
No one claims this. Only yt people claim this. Most non-yts will tell you that there is, but there is less physical threat than other places, still it is there.
What i find disturbing is how members within the army were able to focus on discriminating against someone instead of simply training our arm forces to be the best thay can be.
Of course they have and they don’t care, the military claim they see the need reform it’s sickening. I would go out of my way to discourage any black or Asian person from joining the military. They tried to erase the names of black and Asian people from history, totally disrespected those who sacrificed their lives for the British empire but it’s no surprise when you look at our so called tolerant and kind and welcoming nation

@@TheGame-l2f I doubt that 'bullying' is exclusive to a particular race and can imagine a red haired person receiving worse treatment tbh. But they do recruit people from overseas. "Commonwealth soldiers are, and always will be, an important and valued part of the fabric of the British Army".
She was naive to join the british army. If you are of caribbean or african heritage you'll never fit into the british army . However if you are of european heritage , we'll that will do nicely your one of them.
But if she was born here and lives here, if her desire was to be in the army then why not? Racism needs to be dealt with we can’t keep brushing it under a rug.
@@DesertflowerASMR You are 100%. Life is all about choices . If she or anyone wants to join good luck to them. I know their is good and bad in all races. Thank you for your reply.
Are you mental. I have served 10 years. The army is extremely diverse, and incidents of racisem are rear. What is described here, I have never seen. My non white comrades are equally respected. My current RSM (a prestigious role) is a black man.
And you wonder why black people as a collective are aloof when it comes to the the armed forces and police. When these institutions don’t serve us. Anyone will go where they are celebrated and loved and leave where they are tolerated
These institutions don't serve me either, I'm white. A lot of these institutions are rife with bullying, especially the NHS & Police. No one in the U.K. should be surprised by this story, we have politicians openly slating people from minorities in the media. We need to do much better as a society. The way to fix racism is to properly educate future generations. It's absolutely pointless trying to solve institutional racism from the top, especially from inside these institutions.
@@K0BRAH95 Do you even have any idea what "institutional racism" looks like? Because it seems to me like someone asking their black colleague if they want to go for KFC together after work is "iNsTiutIonAl RacIsM" nowdays
But because you suffered in silence and refused to call out The Army top officials now others are still going through this. We need to root out those racists who have infiltrated the Army, Police, Navy and Air Force. This one is with the Captain. I'm not saying The USA Army is not also a racist organisation for black and brown people who want to serve their country, but that Captain called those racist out who put their marks on walls and lockers of black people. That was what zero tolerance in the USA Army looks like. What will the English Army Captain do about this?
One Word a black person should not accept is aggressive. this word is meant to silent Black people feel like standing up for themselves, the word aggressive come out to Silent you
Are you referring to him speaking for his family? I think he is mature & informed enough to not apply generalisations to any race, tribe, wherever. Not all French are Lovers and goumets'... Not all Welsh can sing. Etc.
The painful thing about this is we have Gurkas who sacrificed their lives for the Monarchy, let alone, other African, Caribbean Indian nationals who have served....time for our military to accept people of colour.
Shaggy the musician served in the US army and fought in the first golf war. He said he experienced racism from fellow soldiers even while in the trenches of war.
Not surprised. Not just the army, the RAF, and Navy too. There are a minority who will physically and verbally ACT on their racist tendencies but there are even far more sympathisers who will watch quietly, NEVER come to your defence when they see something WRONG, make excuses and gang-up i tried winning them over by being overly nice and losing myself, my uniqueness, changing my accent, liking their food, entertainment, in the end, i couldn't lose any more of myself
This is exactly why family always told me and my kin, don’t serve in the military, “we aren’t welcome”. It’s sad to see this woman, who they obviously exploited to gain minority applicants, was treated so poorly for trying to serve our country. This only encourages the narrative that if you’re part of the ethnic minority, you aren’t welcome to serve your country. Same as why I would offend some if I said I’m English… it’s only melanin! It’s about time those xenophobic people accepted that we belong here too.
I’m just glad she got out alive. This is our everyday experience with white British people. Even in the legal profession! It is despicable and beyond unacceptable.
It’s so normalized. You don’t like racist abuse? You’re being unreasonable and making a scene. Minority groups say it’s this way, all their propaganda says it’s the exact opposite. I stopped believing the attackers’ words 😂
The military in general seems anti people who aren't purely ethnically English. I looked into joining the RAF as an officer when I finished my degree, but was told that I was not eligible for the role (as well as the back-up role I was interested in) just because I had also held another nationality. I am born in England and have always had British citizenship. Post-brexit, I claimed dual nationality through my mother to get an EU passport and be able to travel more freely. Despite still maintaining British citizenship, I didn't have the ability to apply for the job just for being associated with another country. I guess I dodged a bullet seeing how this poor woman was treated by the army.
Theres racism inthe NHS too we all know this i was told to go back and nurse my mother even though i have been in the UK since the 60 tis so what more i had a lot of racial abuse but i just got on with the job disgusting people
Because THERE’s NO BLACK IN THE UNION JACK 🇬🇧 . You are a guest in this country no matter what you do Racism isn’t going away it’s actually getting worse .
My surprise is that she is surprised. How can she be expected to be one of them when she is of african / caribeean heritage. Look in the mirror. She doesn't look like them and they dint look like her . They might like you or even love you but you'll never be one of them unless you are of european heritage.
To my all my blackes brothers and sisters this hates from others race for no reasons will never change and dont expect it to change no matters how they smile at you so be more strong and go for more education .they will keep their eyes close for ever but it changing soon not too far .
We KNEW Kerry-Ann! Us black and mixed race Europeans we know, which is why most of us DON’T join the army or the police forces in our respective countries. I’ve gotten enough of it as a teacher every single time that I have worked with anglophones. I ONLY work in continental Europe now because of that; In EU countries my EU status protects me from the rampant racism of the anglophones (Americans and Brits mostly, and precisely), because they know that they are not the ones who hold the advantage here, not after Brexit, not anymore. Don’t get me wrong, their arrogant, racist vibes are still obvious, but they are less let’s say “daring” and emboldened in continental Europe, because they can actually lose their jobs here. Good for you that you managed to keep enough sharpness, in the midst of all the abuse and gaslighting, to have made a record of it and are now denouncing it; you are a pillar of strength and bravery. I’m sending you much healing sister, because I know (first hand) the toll that it takes. I lived in England for three years in the early 2000s, left there a lot of money in student loans, which I will regret for life. Those were the absolute worst days of my life, it’s an incredibly toxic, Godless place, shockingly so really. I really regret not having left immediately after I was done with my Master’s, and I don’t intend on ever even setting foot in the place again. I feel for the British minorities. You are not wanted, you are tolerated at best, and I am glad that you are finally starting to get a voice and calling it out. Do not put up with it any longer, do call them out! Their time is up.

Much respect for her, and some measure of respect for the British military for being one of the only armed forces on Earth to have just enough transparency and oversight to allow the wheels of justice to turn..
I remember telling my mum when I was a young girl I wanted to be a police officer and she told me not to. I was 8 years old when she told me that, years later now as a black British woman I now understand. Sadly they will never take accountability because they honestly believe they've done nothing wrong. Also "person of colour" Rob? How rude and racist, I am not a colour and to address me as such is saying that I was meant to be white but ended having brown skin.
she thinks shes telling the world something new. All black people already knew this, for some reason she thought it would be different for her. Oh well.

Cant wait to see all the excuses brits make to excuse/explain this away. I will say you all are more creative at your excuses than my fellow Americans. I will never understand immigrant families joining the British Army…that’s insane, giving the history of the country. Also, if you do no see anyone else that looks like you there … do not join, do not stay. Very weird that she chose to stay there for years, often the case with people that have low self-esteem. No way you can have pride in your work when they hate you as a woman, and as a non-british native.
Why should we be limited as black people to do what we wish to do?she had every right to join the army if she wanted to. Let's stop blaming victims for trying to live their best lives and focus on exposing bigots and bullies in society.

People preach by mouth to love one another but the reality deep in the heart is different, why
Racism/tribalism is a worldwide phenomenon which has transcended all human generations. Biblically, Moses' relatives chided him for marrying an Ethiopian (Black) woman. Unfortunately, it will not go away. I pray for strength for the victims of racism/tribalism worldwide.
Moses wife was not part of the covenant this is why and , Moses’s sister was turned “ white “ with leprosy, until he ( Moses ), pleaded with God to spare her life.
And remember God struck Moses’ sister with leprosy for that to the point where Moses begged God to spare her life and that’s what God thinks of racism 🤷🏿♂️
Bless her heart, she endured a lot. But to combat that kind of behaviour you need to “aggy”, dominant and alpha to survive. You have to show them what you are about, basically. Not soft.
