That is true. Im biracial my mom is black and my dad is white. I remember going to see my dad several years ago he moved to Spain with his new wife and I went to go visit for a couple weeks. My dad likes to drink and one night he was drunk when he was blitzed he told me a story of when my mom would call up to his job and harass him an whatnot, he told me just before he got off the phone with her he called her a N-word bitch. Quoting the fifth commandment, the apostle Paul writes to children, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother'” (Ephesians 6:1-2). Parents are our first personal and tangible (and unavoidable) encounter with the rule of God over us. Its hard most days but I still love them both I just wish it didn't hurt to love them. It's not the black girl's job to help rehabilitate her. Almost 20 years ago, as a university dorm desk staff, I got into a similar incident with a very drunk student. He cursed me out (not racially though) and proceeded to fight me, before slipping and hitting his head on the pavement outside the door and knocking himself out. A 911 call and an ambulance later. It would have been a further punishment to have to interact with the dude afterwards. I forgive him because he was obviously drunk, but that doesn't mean I wanted to interact with him ever again. Students have been expelled for less, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over this girl getting expelled.
I really appreciate your sharing the desk monitor's TikTok reaction video, HBCU Spotlight. It really brought home the impact of this type of disgusting incident. Her recounting the awful abuse she took and seeing the impact it had on her is far more powerful than watching the entitled aggressor carry on. The media has made a lot of this story not because a black woman was called a bitch and N and bitten, but because the white person was beautiful and entitled and captured on video. I would imagine this type of victimization happens daily given the matter of fact way the desk monitor recounts this hateful event. I imagine we don't see these regular occurrences on the news because they are not as salacious or have camera ready participants. If you are a person inclined to see other races in a negative light, put yourself in this well spoken victim's shoes and ask yourself why you cannot empathize with her, if you can't. What is the hidden hurt or shortcoming you harbor that makes it necessary for you to hurt people different than yourself? What pain are you salving by asserting unjustified dominance over someone different, weaker, poorer, dimmer, etc. than you? Honestly answer this question and you will cease being part of the problem and start to become a solution to it.

I'm sorry. I try so hard not to judge people but when it comes to a lot of the white people I've met in my life, they're all friendly and nice until they get too comfortable or angry. Then the hate and racism comes out. My son's father would be that one guy who'd say, "I'm not racist. I have a black girlfriend." Or "you people are too sensitive." Or "if our baby has any illnesses when he's born it's because you're half black." What's sad is that this treatment is so common for some people (like me. It's awful how they both were treated but the fact they handled the situation the best way possible should be recognized. I’m ethnically Hispanic but a white woman who has been called the N word many times by drunk patrons that or an n word lover. I can’t imagine how traumatic that incident of being attacked and called that word must have been for Kylah. Good evening What happened in UK is terrible. It is not a reason to choose a college to further your academic or athletic career. I totally disagree with the racial comments made by the white student. I pray she can get help. I am sorry and hope the black students who were physically and verbally abused will get the care they need. This is a terrible situation. But we cannot react with equal radical conversations and behaviors. It will distract our ability to discuss our differences. I disagree with using this incident as a platform to support another radical agenda that really has nothing to do with this incident. We all have to be the change that we seek in the world and push back the darkness of racial discrimination. We all …white and black are intertwined in history….what impacts individuals directly; effect us all indirectly. Extreme opinions on both sides of the racial discussion will continue to divide and not unite us.

Still, as a white person who can only imagine what the impact of racial prejudice feels like, I can only suggest that we - meaning white people overall - have been tepid in our response to acts like Rosing's.
