Hey guys thanks for the review. Question can the trailer AND the rear basket be used at the same time? Thanks

Any recommendations on front two, rear one wheel trikes? I feel those will corner better and fun to ride.

I live in the city, and would really like to have an easier time using a bike for shopping, but man, the bike manufacturers just don't get one important detail: we need to be able to put stuff in a box and lock it on the bike. I'm not talking about a six pack; I'm talking about 3-4 bags of groceries, from multiple stores. As it is right now, I have to just go to one store at a time (I have flexible panniers), or hope that someone doesn't take my stuff if I dash into a second store. The thing, in my mind, that separates a bike from a car is simply a locking trunk. So where Rad comes in is interesting. The Rad Runner can be fitted out with a pretty good sized racktop box, and two side panniers, all of which can be locked and are sealed from the elements. There's also a center console that holds enough that it would seem to be worthwhile. But this really adds to the cost too. The reason I mention it here on the trike video is... what's up with this thing? A trike should be able to carry more cargo more stably, but I don't see how that would be done here. There's a nice low mounting point, but they don't make anything with decent capacity that will go on it. The Ballard bag is non-locking, and I'm not even sure if it can be used on this. So I'm a little baffled as to what this trike adds to the equation. Hopefully some day some manufacturer will come out with what I'm looking for. Think of an old Harley Davidson Servi-Car (the big motorcycle trike that the police and other tradespeople used to use). Something like that, with a locking and cavernous trunk, in a trike format, with electric power, now you're talking!

Sure seemed like that bike was loud when traveling near its top speed. Surprised to hear that wasn't a negative.

🐍 A torque wrench is only $20. You don't have to buy a Snap-On tool just to torque a bolt. $6 Loctite is more important than a torque wrench on PEVs.

I need to know the width of this trike so I know if I can take it through doorways. ???

Have this bike don’t buy this trike listeners. Battery is to small amp hours suck. Chain ring is to small like tiny. Seat back does not stay up it keeps slipping down. The trike is tiny. The wheel’s are tiny. The cap out on speed is 13 mph. The trike is NOT more stable it twist and bends. The coaster brake does not brake sufficiently. When using the coaster brake it causes a grinding, clattering and banging noise to occur. This is due to a adjuster sleeve that the chain runs through. It gets stuck. It gets stuck too when using the reverse. The trike is to wide it barely-barely fit trough a door, so you have to keep adjusting it trajectory or it gets stuck. When you use reverse the peddles turn in reverse (dangerously catches the foot). The list goes on. Also way, way to expensive I’m telling it’s a small trike- tiny. Peddles, small (tiny) chain ring makes you feel like a circus clown going down the street. Front wheel spins out constantly a larger/heavier battery would have helped to hold down the front end. The list goes on… I bought a RadMini in 2018 and love the bike so thought the Trike would be great stupid me. Like all companies when they get big they get funny. The guys doing this review need to be more honest in their assessment. I own this Trike I know this Trike and have a Juiced bike Hyper Scorpion 2020 as well as a Juiced bikes ScorpionX 2022. I know Ebikes their all a little funny (sell, sell, sell) you make ‘em work you replace parts for better-get the build you want. I get it but I don’t get this Trike. Pissed off and out a whole lotta money😤

Top speed 14mph I would imagine coaster back and disc front is plenty. Plus who rides top speed all the time? Mostly you'll be below this but even at 14 that's plenty of brakes.
@jimfielder

I totally disagree about coaster brakes being great. For older folks with mobility issues pushing downward with either leg may be a huge downside. I have issues with both knees and the coaster brakes removed the Rad trike for as an option for me. And why not a hydraulic brake? For folks with mobility issues having to do regular adjustments may not be an easy option. And the width, third issue. Not garages, that have a secondary door beyond the "car" door, will have a door that will not accommodate this width. I did purchase the Lectric trike after seeing another review of this bike and the Lectric - reasons - 1. Width - will fit both my house door and my garage side door. 2. Hydraulic brakes - front and back. 3. Size - it fits in the back of my short bed pickup without folding (the Rad is tooooo long.

Yep, at this size they should have gone with eABS/regen brakes instead.

I guess it depends on your handicap. I am 73 and I prefer the coaster break. I don't have any disabilities and a coaster brake is familiar to me since I grew up using coaster brake bikes.
@jimfielder
@jimfielder 7 месяцев назад
@@peterpiper487 that may work for you, but the audience for coaster brakes is smaller in the target group they are not really focused on. Those who have been active riding bikes since childhood coaster brakes will be very familiar with front and rear braking schemes.

Too underpowered. I’m keeping an eye out for an etrike for a client who lives around some steep hills. He’d need closer to 25-30 mph on flat ground for his area. I’ll keep looking.
@freshlycharged

Going 25-30 mph on a trike is fine if you are going straight, but it would be crazy trying to turn it at those speeds. They are mainly targeting people with mobility issues.

Try a recumbent trike!
@notsoanonymous2458
@notsoanonymous2458 9 месяцев назад
@@freshlycharged Of course. My point is that 25 mph on flat ground while on a steep hill with a battery at a quarter charge turns into 15-17 mph. I've ridden my Emove RR on the hills and it does ok. A less powerful and heavier vehicle with a heavier rider would struggle. I don't think a recumbent would be a good fit for him. If you guys have any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks and I enjoy your channel.

Actually they just dumped the price to $1299. And "backordered". I guess they got tired of getting their bum absolutely munched by Lectric's trike. You guys have turned into sellouts.
@TheBikemaster94
@TheBikemaster94 6 месяцев назад
That's the real price that its supposed to be in the first place , the lectric has a differential and hydraulic brakes so it makes sense for this one to be slightly cheaper. The cheapest trike ive seen was the 600 dollar Ebay special 10ah battery 250w but the frame on that was very weak Not designed to last. I would take those 600 and get the O14 Ebike instead .
