The RAD R-1 has been a running shoe on my radar for quite some time and I've finally put in enough runs to build out my review on this shoe.
I'm what you'd call a hybrid bro AKA someone who likes to lift, cross-train, do CrossFit, and run on a weekly basis. The R-1 Runner has been a solid shoe with a stylish look for my runs ranging from 1-5 miles.
In my RAD R-1 review, I'll discuss all of the key details you should know before investing in this shoe.

Overall, I've enjoyed the RAD R-1, and outside of running, I've also used this shoe a lot for walking and travel.
The midsole is plush and comfortable, the appearance of this shoe has a simplistic yet future-esque vibe to it which I also like.
I think as a generalist running shoe for runners wanting a more plush neutral model, this shoe makes a lot of sense.
Do I think they'll be the best running shoes for speed work and marathons? Not necessarily, but those are asks a lot more specific.

The R-1s have been my favorite daily trainers right now. I agree they aren't the springiest but I think I prefer the more stability feel these give. I have the same color and my toe bumper is still firmly attached.

I’ve run into the RAD lip issue on the trainer as well on 2 different pairs. To their credit they are good about replacing and are clearly aware of the issue so hopefully it’s replaced in both 2nd iterations

Hi Jake, I am very curious about your opinion, since I am struggling to find my next Crossfit shoes after a Nano X2. Normally I chose my shoes based on the insole length. Which is 28 cm in my case. I bought a Nano X2 few years ago with 28 cm (actually its a US10, EU43), then I decided to upgrade on X4 this spring. And I chose the same size as I did with the X2. It was too tight so I went up with a half size (28,5 cm, US10,5 EU44,5) which was comfortable enough but by the last rows of the laces and the tounge were still pretty tight. After 2,5 month of daily CF use, one of the upper-inside shoe lace holes torn. I was very dissapointed... Then I bought a TYR CXT-1 with a 28cm insole length (it's US11, EU45) which was way more bigger than my foot. I sent it back inmediately. I bought 2 CXT-1s, half size smaller and one size smaller compared to my first pair of CXT (currently I waiting for to get them). Since your shoesize is US10 which is close to my size, I want to ask you what size you reccommend to me if I want to buy a R.A.D One. I am very intrested in the RAD, but since I live in EU there is no possibility for instore size check. Based on my experiences mentioned before I want to avoid multiple orders.

Go 10 in these! IMO, going off of pure length in sizing charts can be finicky since each company uses different lasts and sizes. Can always give you specific advice as you need it!

The lip issues is a concern for me. I think if you're paying $140 then you shouldn't see wear and tear after 30 days give or take. Same issue I have with your last video on the Metcons and durability. I do like the look and style of that white colorway. I'm really liking a lot of training and running shoes in all white.... but this shoe is hard pass for me. I'm looking for a training shoe I can deadlift in (400-450lbs) and Squat in (315lbs-350lbs) but also can do sprints in and 5k's about 3 times a week. I'm going through your catalog of vids and it's helping me out a lot. Thanks for the review my fit bro.... I mean friend. Keep up the great work with the reviews.

I'd look into the Inov8 F Fly if those are your asks - I've pushed that shoe in all of those verticals and they've been exceptional. Will have a narrower midfoot, wider toe box, though - so keep that in mind depending on your fit asks! Thank you for checking out the content!

Totally different feels on feet, imo! When I'm trying to go zoom zoom I've been reaching for my Bostons, but when I'm doing chill paces I've been going R1s!

Can I ask for a shoe recommendation? if its ok with you guys .. I do MWF jog 5k then do snc training (bench, deadlift, squat, lunges, Bulgarian split squats and Olympic lifts etc) and jog again 3-4k in the afternoon and TTH I do sprint workouts around 30 meters with a 2min break in between fo about 20mins then I do plyo and Hiit workouts and box and ladder drills, I'm currently using Nike Pegasus for my jogs and sprints but I go barefoot during lifting and plyo cause the Nike Pegasus feels unstable when I lift which is not even heavy around 250-275lbs at max or maybe its just me that think or feel its not stable, I decided to put on shoes in the gym after I had a little accident that convinced me its safer to wear something while at the gym but I dont know what shoes to get

@@thatfitfriend thank so much for the recommendation, im sorry I forgot to mention I have a slightly wide food and a slightly bigger feet bridge and im kinda flat footed are these shoes fine? im considering the Inov8 fly as it is much much cheaper atm than the nike free metcon 6
