Mitch, PLEASE take a break.. I also need to eat you know, and all your amazing deck techs are NOT helping.. I did lose weight though, so thanks for that? i guess?
I feel like a Blackblade Reforged would fit in real nicely with this deck, considering the amount of land ramping it'll be doing and the aggressive strategy it wants. Slap that bad boy on Radha and start one-shotting the table!
I mean, on one hand all it's doing is making sure Radha has one stack of her ability all the time On the other hand, *it's making sure Radha has one stack of her ability all the time*
@@connorl0204 But that's all that Thrill of Possibility/Tormenting Voice/Cathartic Reunion *are.* They're spell that Rummage and Cantrip. You end up with the same number of cards in hand as you did before you cast the spell.
Jered and Ashley Severns looting is drawing then discarding, giving you the option to take whats best and pitch dead cards. Rummaging is discard then draw, meaning you have no choice but to make due with however dead those new cards may be. Mitch was inquiring if there was a name for a spell that rummages but still cantrips. I.e. thrill of possibility, which costs you the spell itself as well as one card to draw two cards.
@@willmyers9013 Sure. I also don't want to go out of my way when they're not being talked about because they're, to quote, "boring and I don't want to." Especially when for the last 2 years it has been discussed. Especially when it would take a negligible amount of time to just say that he put those lands in, given the speed at which he does them anyway. Something like Rogue's Passage is a legitimate strategy for this deck, but it's a boring land, so we'll glaze over it, yeah? Again, in a deck tech where lands matter, I think it's a bit reasonable to expect the land base to be discussed, and a bit unreasonable to expect to dig for it.
At 12:34 The Enchantment doesn't grant hexproof because it's not functionally similar. You can enchant an opponent's creature preventing the opponent from targeting it; if it granted hexproof it would prevent you from targeting it.
Canopy Cover Ruling: This is not the same as hexproof. If, for example, you target one of your opponent’s creatures, your opponents won’t be able to target their own creature with spells or abilities.
Nice one Mitch, love your (Ultra) Budget deck techs. They were the reason i came here and why i'm still here ;) I also appreciate the reduced speed of you talking!!
TenebraePatruus Faithless Looting IS actually looting, because looting is draw-then-discard (whereas rummaging is the other order). Red does normally rummage, because it’s supposed to discard first to be a little more chaotic, but Faithless Looting is an exception to this pattern
I pulled lotus cobra and phylath last week and it prompted me to build a deck very similar to this. I finished it yesterday and I’m testing it out tonight with my group!
Hey Mitch! You should do a video on how to budget upgrade the Zendikar Rising Commander decks! Since they are $20 MSRP you could do $30 of upgrades and keep it in tune with the rest of the channel!
2:40 and as always, first up, there's the actual star of the show, with me! I can get you a land out on Turn 2, and that's exactly what we want to do. As of this posting, my lowest TCGPlayer market price is $3.35 for my Commander 2014 printing. Please give me a proper reprint.
Bounce lands (even slow ones like Karoo lands, I think), fetches (you don't have to cut an arm and a leg, there are Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse), Drownyard Temple probably and the MVP land for this deck which many players are probably unaware of: Ghost Town.
Wayfarers bauble is literally just a meme at this point, you do not run it when you have access to green. Mitch is just taking up like 4$ of the budget for no reason lol
This card for as cheap as it is just feels like it does a lot and has a lot of potential. Opened one in a pack and even though not worth any money, it just feels like a great card
Canopy Cover doesn't have Hexproof and Flying in its Oracle text so it won't be affected by cards that remove Hexproof and Flying from your permanents. Such as Archetype of Imagination or Archetype of Endurance. Or Shadowspear. P.S. We haven't seen you combed in a while, your hair is a real mess!
how is it whenever I think of a deck to build you come by like a day later with a full decklist? Anyway love the deck and I'm sure il be buying it soon and finding my own ways to upgrade it as well.
Yeah, I have a zacama deck and I'm really thinking this could easily go into the 99, on the lower end of the curve. If someone wants to deal with it that's one less card the opponent has.
Kodama's reach is arcane though which makes it strictly better (there is no downside but there might be an upside once in a full moon). Magic players tend to be perfectionistic so yeah, that's why it is slightly more expensive
My lgs gave me a funny look when I asked for 14 Vastwood Surge.... Needless to say, I have too many decks, for example: My Radha is built slightly differently although it does contain a lot of the same cards. Although it is also a little pricier than $34, but less than the break the bank's $100. 1) Haste anthems so the beast tokens can attack the turn they come down. 2) Ashaya, Soul of the Wild - turns all non-token creatures into lands too so even more landfall triggers. 3) Beast Whisperer (And similar type cards) - card draw 4) Ancient Greenwardern - self-explanatory. 5) Azusa, Lost but Seeking - more lands. 6) Moraug,, Fury of Akoum - um.... yea...
Guys, i'm sorry im new to mtg. I have one simple question. Are these budget deck a bit competitive in the contest of local tournaments? cause if i check top commander deck, they cost around 500-2k dollars, which is very far from the price of these budget deck
These are casual decks. But tuned. He has a video about that I think? Anyway, it's a solid deck but will not win reliably in cEDH (competitive edh) format. Anyway what that means is they are great decks for the average person. If u are rich or want to win tournaments you may want to start with saffronOlive decks and go from there. He has his decks on mtggoldfish I think.
Newest Radha has already earned her place as my current favorite commander. Another budget card I’ve found to be good with her is Into the Wilds. Since you can always know what your top card is with Radha out, it can make it easier to make sure you get that extra land on board in your upkeep
You should have added Moraug, Fury of Akoum for extra Combat phases and Azusa, Lost but seeking, for 2 extra land drops. Both are around 7$ and Moraug might drop in price since Zendikar Rising just came out.
Really nice deck tech! I was musing about making a gruul commander deck, I may draw a whole lot of inspiration from this! Also, love the puns. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.
Literally just built a deck around her! Glad to see i hit several of the same cards, though I've also added in a +1+1 sub theme that gives Radha reach and trample (Longshot Squad, Bramblewood Paragon, etc), so if she can't go through it, she'll go over it to inflict Commander damage!
I was considering putting together a landfall commander deck. You just saved me a bunch of random searches. Thanks. Looking forward to playing this once the current zombie apocalypse is over and I can go to my LGS.
Hey Mitch, there is a specific card I'm kind of surprised you didn't add from Commander2019, scaretiller. Sure it's not a power house or anything it's a great budget card. It can get you lands from your graveyard and from your hand onto the battlefield. I play in a fairly high-powered meta and I have never put the on to the battlefield and not gotten use out of it.
You usually put Edge of Autumn in green decks but is it really that good in this deck? This deck seems to accelerate way past 4 lands then it's a really dead card.
Well, great build, fastest growing MTG channel, all good. Except the beard, that one still has ways to go. You can't just come from that unfurry place and take over giants like Saffron Olive, not without much growing effort!
discard to draw is rummaging, named from the rummaging goblin. I am surprised there aren't some awaken cards to turn those lands into creatures. pretty sweet deck.
what about ashaya for the extra land synergy and the fact that out of nowhere if you have some creatures or even better a scuteswarm in play you instant go to town
I love Radha, even made a $25 budget build for her on tapped out to start with. She is a blast, some other fun things you can do is buff her up and then use cards like Gravitic punch or Thud and throw her power in peoples faces. I also like putting Snake Umbra on Tunneling Geoped so every land drap draws you a card for each opponent you have. Deck is so fun and with Zendikar rising coming out theres a lot more fun options out there.
