Foreigners have trouble understanding the heavier Indian accent. So you have to mould your accent otherwise you wouldn't survive. It's very natural and common to do it. And she's been in the UK for many years so it's obvious that she would pick up the accent. Also, her movie Postcard is one of the best movies to come out of India. But obviously it's not a commercial movie. Success and brilliant work are mostly mutually exclusive in India.
This woman is intellectual, clear about her perception and knows her own self from the core.She wants to do her job all for right reasons and thats very attractive.

People are commenting about her accent. I think they don't know that your accent changes according to people you are surrounded with. Her husband is European so her accent is bound to change unless she hates the UK accent.
her parents are super rich so could afford experimenting Bollywood and acting as career . ordinary marathi guy's and gals struggle like hell to get free seat in engg medical college .

It's true tho. Tabu, Vidya, Priyanka Chopra, Richa Chadha et al are the ones supposed to be celebrated for their acting skills. But mediocre actresses Deepika, Alia, Kiara, Katrina are at the top of the foodchain in Bollywood.
To become a bigger actor, you have to be accepted by the masses. She is a good actor, no doubt, but most of the masses go to watch a movie for entertainment pupose...her style of work is different...hence i dont see the point why she is first of all using that accent...and also claiming that being thinner is a way to be popular... Its the public that makes an actor a star....

Vidya Balan is an exception not a rule...just because we have one full figured actress who made it big does not take away inherent value of anything she is saying here.... liposuction to the inch of your life to appears slimmer, skin bleaching ,botox, lip fillers and what not to look and fit a certain way while being mediocre at your craft is a very real thing in movie industry. Radhika is a beautiful woman but she doesn't exactly fit in that mould or doesn't seem to want to...that's what she is saying here

@@noonesd5 With all due respect...you said the same thing as i did and just framed it differently... stereotypes are based on the lines of general observations of what is happening or what has happened in the past ..yes vidhya came and achieved everything and rightfully so but it came with her fighting against the odds, lot of criticism, her incredible talent and her being aware of the fact that she indeed does not fit into the beauty standard of bollywood her and it took her a long long time before she achieved the desired success and on the other hand pick any other talented actress who was perceived as conventionally Beautiful let's say Deepika Padukone one movie and it made her a overnight star....Vidya is far superior when it comes to acting but she had to prove her worth time and again to gain the kind of recognition she has today. Sure it paid off but not everyone is that lucky. These stories are one of a kind. So that makes her and exception not a rule.
Vidya Balan also didn't get as many roles as she should have. she too has complained about her weight being an issue in the industry. Her acting in Bhool Bhulaiya was outstanding, yet she didn't even get nominated.
If we think about Vidya Balan,she developed a reputation after Dirty Picture which was very niche for a heavier heroine and not everyone gets that kind of a role.Without that movie she would be probably doing side roles by now in mainstream movies.Sad but true.

She isn't. She lives in the UK. She's married to a British guy. It's natural that the accent is affected. She has a hybrid accent, you can hear a bit of the Indian accent as well. She isn't being fake. She's being what naturally is her.

It is a common industry knowledge that Ms. Runout got Radhika out from Queen through Vikas Bahl (a proven pervert). Radhika was the original cast and Anurag kashyap's first choice.
