HE'S THE KEEENG OF THE STREETS, HE'S GONNA BOOT YOU AWAY! I know the songwriter was Spanish and probably didn't have the clearest grasp on what sounded "right" in English, but the idea of that particular line (or just "boot you away" in general) as sounding tough or intimidating is just...amazing.
so many memories, I grew up playing this game in the early 2000s ... in fact our childhood was: arcades, punk rock, modified scooters and rounding up some money by making deliveries with pizzas.😂
Oh, Galeco, the company making the games we find hard to like yet no reason to hate. They were like the little engine that could when it came to making the most of generally limited resources for their arcade boards and more often than not the games looked very impressive. Radikal Bikers was and is no exception.
Another notable thing is that they were one of the very few companies outside the big ones (Capcom, Sega, Namco…) that made their own custom arcade boards rather than developing games on preexisting ones. This is both very notable and a big pain in the ass for preservation since some of their games (like Ring Riders and Extreme Luge) can’t be properly emulated on Mame or similar emulators and even games like this suffer of glitches and graphical errors that aren’t present on the original games.
i remember back in the day playing that arcade, every time i've got a power kick, was more interested on destroy everything otw than going to the goal lol
Oh man I remember staying a few times in a hotel in Ibiza when I was around 10. They had an area with a couple of arcade games, and this was one of them. Never beat it, but had fun trying.
I miss the era of games like Medievil, Spyro, Radical Bikers, Jackie Chan Stuntmaster, Driver, Oddworld...Not to mention Metal Gear Solid, FF VII, Silent Hill.... The late 90s/beginning of 2000s have been the best era of videogames.
Damn i remember this game was kind of UFO sitting next to SEGA Model 3 and Namco game, but pretty fun and impressive for a Spanish company that design himself there own arcade board, it looks like any Voodoo 3DFX game on PC back then.
If Crazy Taxi or Jet Set Radio ever took on pizza delivery job... I'm surprised this wasn't some crazy spin-off from SEGA. Remember playing this a couple times at a hotel. Must have been a tournament trip or a vacation. The first time was simply figuring out how to move the bike (try turning on gas, idiot) and crashing into incoming cars. Never got my pizza delivered, but they were good times regardless. There was also a Time Crisis 2 arcade in the same building. It took me eight credits to beat it, but that was probably the first or the second arcade I had ever beaten (along with Crisis Zone.) Later on I could beat CZ without taking damage... with some luck I might be able to 1cc the other Time Crises as well. Edit: Did Crash Bandicoot just rob a bank? Apparently Crash Team Racing wasn't enough to pay the bills...
>>this is isn't some crazy spin-off I mean: Did you heard "Smashing Drive"? It's basically same games - but premise is different: In Radicak Bikers - you're a Pizza Courier, in Smashing Drive - Taxi Driver.
@@ДаниилСтепанов-р1и Yes, Smashing Drive (also from Gaelco) is a spiritual sequel to this game. But something about this game made me think of Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio. As it turns out, Radikal Bikers actually predates both of those games.
This is a game that _aggressively_ wants your money. I watched LordBBH play it on one of his streams, and the computer smoked him every single time. I can't decide if it was balanced this poorly on accident or if the designers just figured gamers would just keep dumping quarters in like suckers...
When i was young my family where on vecations on Mallorca and the hotel had an area with two arcade machines. Tekken 2 and this game. :D I spent so mutch pesetas playing those two arcade machines because it was so cheap. :) Never got past the third level, tough. :P
13:46 This is a certified hood classic, what da dog doing, AM-, twenty one, ayo pizza here, taco bell sound, only a spoonfull (that cartoon running sound on the background made me write it)
I found this game at a mall local arcade of Ananindeua(mty neighbor city) and I'm pretending to play it,I have some questions: ✓Let's pretend that I start from Diabola for example,I beat the stage, will the game push me into the other circuits in the same credit? ✓If I start by Margherita or Capricciosa routes, will happen to do all trio of stages every single play?
The video is upscaled, but the game is still running at the native resolution. It actually is possible to play this game at a higher resolution using TeknoParrot, although that wasn't an option back when I made this video.
@@arronmunroe Thanks, i know it's playable also on Teknoparrot, but I would have preferred upscale internal resolution it with MAME, but this is not possible. Thanks for your reply!
This was with MAME. Optionally, you could play this game with TeknoParrot so that you could play it at a higher resolution than 576x432. That wasn't an option back when I played this.
