Removing the radio out of my 2014 Lexus IS350 to install the Android interface module.
You can use this to guide you to remove the radio out of the 3IS for other reasons as well. It is the same process
For removal of radio, it is good to have your basic tools such as sockets,. rachet and screwdriver, BUT also a good plastic pry tool set.

The Android Interface seems to work but with a quirk. The mouse seemingly have a mind of its own and moves by itself if you try to leave it on the left side
Currently working with the manufacturers Engineers to resolve this. Will keep you guys updated in another video...Hang tight.
I came across this Android interface from company Lsailt , Thought i'd take the dive and give it a try.
Ran through the Installation manual with the broken English and got the gist of it. I get what needs to be done and how it operates.
They claim:
-That there is control of their system with the remote joystick we have in or navigation equipped vehicles.
-Steering wheel controls to change tracks in Android mode
-Does not interfere with factory back up camera.
-Aux mode switches to the Android interface automatically.

Okay so my screen gave out and I think my oem head unit got fried or something. In order to replace it with a used one, would it be the same process as this?

Yes your stereo has to be working for this to install and work . It's a add-on, not a replacement

Hey my radio went out or something my navigation system and music won’t turn on anymore the screen is just off. My backup cam works and I think it’s the radio, do you know for sure if I’d need a new radio? -Thanks

@@mz41155i have the same problem , Lexus is notorious for water damage in oem amp which caused the radio receiver to not work , factory repair options would be get a new radio receiver which is 1600-2000 depends where u get it from , instead I got a android screen for my 2014 IS but after a couple days the audio stopped working , now I’m getting a new 4 channel to replace the factory one but you will need a crossover because the knobs and buttons won’t work anymore, this option is way better than just replacing the radio and u get a new screen and a better amp and will cost u less in total!

No aftermarket replacement solution currently that I know of. As for another OEM replacement, I would make sure you getting the same part number just to be safe

Thanks for the video. I’m trying to replace the analog clock & ac vent assembly on my 3IS. Your video almost goes to the point I need. Have you ever removed the AC/ Heater unit directly above the stereo? I couldn’t tell from the video if there’s any screws holding it in or if once the radio is removed, it can be simply pulled out. The AC/ heater unit is the last thing holding my clock ac vent assembly in place.

You probably want a refurbished one..used one may have issues also. 2014 model year stereo were notorious for having issues

Hi. i've been trying to fix the radio on my Lexus since the GPS software seems to be broken, Dealer dont gave me a solusion.anyways, im hoping for a way to bypass that and be able to use the stereo on my car, either with a phone or with something like you showed on this vid. ( i dont have access to radio or Screen Settings, it reboots eveytime is loading GPS )

You need a replacement radio/navigation then. What I'm showing in video still needs a working stereo for it to work

I've been wondering the same thing( having the same issue with my 14 is 350). Do you suppose this would work with a radio that has power but isn't functioning properly?(not turning on/rebooting constantly) Wouldn't the android radio receive power anyway because the harness is plugged into the android radio before going to the oem radio?wouldnt you be able to just use the android system separately from the oem radio?

I've installed mine, unfortunately I ordered a different unit, I did want the one from Erica Tan or same as yours. Mine doesn't show car information on the right, instead a clock which isn't always correct, I've changed to mph so the dashboard says it mph but it's actually kph. My remaining miles shows up on the right hand, but when on lexus screen the right side shows it in kph. Aux sound is terrible unusable, so have to use BT and there is also a delay, this has also stopped me from linking my phone to the car for calls. Some time on my cluster the nav will stop, this in the past use to help for speed cam warnings, when this doesn't show it also stops displaying which audio am in, eg aux, bt, dab. I've contacted seller but nothing has been done, I've noticed a feed back on his page form last year which and he responded to the seller about a possible update, I've asked the seller for a refund but he says he'll try for a update. Alibaba don't except PayPal and I've been told its hard to get your money back, if a fix isn't done nor a refund in the next week I'll be telling everyone to avoid. I know the mxc and navi radier for the lexus are good units.

Once you have Radio out, the HVAC is just a quick pull to remove.

Hey, after installing this have you noticed the unlocking of the car and smart unlocking has become delayed? When I press unlock on the fob it takes a good 4 to 6 seconds before it unlocks. Locking the car is fine works straight away

I didn't have this installed for long and switched to GROM VLINE2 after. My issue was only with the mouse joystick misbehaving function, I don't recall any issue with remote FOB function

My neighbor's Lexus has a rotating display screen at the top of the dash, it got a small flat mason jar lid stuck in it and won't rotate any more, Do you know how to remove it? I think it's a 2015.

Yes it makes it easier to get your hands in there to run the cables

I dont know if you had this problem but the wiring. How you manage the to get the wiring from the stereo to the back of the screen because my lexus is 300 had a like a cover blocking the way for the wire to come through from the stereo?

I use a wire fishing tool but it's best idea to actually remove glove compartment to help run the wiring

Not sure what you are asking. No security code required to swap the radio in the dashboard. There isn't really any coding/programing required like European cars to swap things in the vehicle.

Quick question brodee when you hooked your amp up where did you ground it. Cause I was in the trunk, and couldn’t find a bolt that I could ground it too. Just figured you knew I ‘m getting ready to put a sub and amp in my car so I was curious.. do you happen to have a wiring diagram fro the stereo as well?

There's plenty of 10mm bolts back in the trunk you can undo and use as a ground. Just make sure you grind paint off under the bolt before using that point as a ground

specONE I think I know which ones your talking about. Did you have to use a converter for your amp too? Which wires do I have to tap into? or can I use RCA cables for the factory radio?

You will have to use a line out converter and RCA to amplifier. There is no way to hook up RCA to a factory radio. I suggest looking on clublexus forum for information on where you can tap into

what size nut driver did you use @5:55 i tried 7/16" but it doesnt latch on perfectly

10mm bolts are being removed. Can't use a standard nut driver, it has to be metric. All fittings on a Japanese car would be metric
