just ordered one this morning, got it on their sale for $22 with free shipping now to see if it can be opened up and to import a radio file from another radio so I dont have to build one from scratch this will most likely be a gift to a family member, maybe thanks for the cool video
I purchased the Baofeng -UV5RH from AliExpress. Couldn't find the CPS for it. Also so the GC-5 and I checked that manual. Turns out the UV-5RH and the GC-5 manual's were 99% the same. I downloaded the GC-5 CPS and it worked perfectly. The menu system is the same. The UV-5RH purports to be a tri-band. Output on 222 Mhz was not even close to 1 watt output. The UV-5RH comes unlocked, and is USB-C rechargeable. I think both radios are similar to the Baofeng UV18.
Nice. It's really impressive how it sounds. It's super easy to set up. One channel that I stored after I programmed it on the keypad got corrupted... Not sure how. It saved with all the repeater information and then the next day it was functioning as simplex. Haven't been able to replicate it. But so far so good in just about every other department. - Eric
