This is one of my least played Radiohead songs. Not because I don't like it but because it's one of the most powerful pieces of music I have ever heard and I want to try preserve that feeling it gives me for as long as possible.

Never fully appreciated this song until it popped up at the ending of I Origins and I just broke into tears and could not stop for 5 minutes that ending smashed me over the head and didn't let go.

Literally the best song that ever had ended an album

I recently revisited this album after hearing that an ex-girlfriend suddenly died in her sleep. This was one of her favorite Radiohead songs.

I wish this song was 3 hours long.

Despite being released eight years apart, 'Creep' and 'Motion Picture Soundtrack' were written on the same day. The latter song existed for many years as an acoustic bootleg before it finally surfaced as the pedal organ-led closing track on 'Kid A'. text: NME

I want to die to this song, every aspect of it sounds so beautiful I want to make sure it is the very last thing I hear before I die.

On the last day of my fiance's life, we sat outside and sung this song acapella together on a beautiful June day. The last day was magical from the moment I first saw her till the last time I saw her alive. We were happy and in love and excited because it was her birthday and I had just picked up Moon Shaped Pool. We were going to celebrate together that weekend. I still miss you Claudia.

This song originally had a third verse, you can hear it on some of the old acoustic versions from the 90s: Beautiful angel Pulled apart at birth Limbless and helpless I can’t even recognize you I think you’re crazy, maybe I will see you in the next life

there is no other way that radiohead could've ended Kid A this song is absolutely perfect and it feels like the closing of a book on the perfect album.

Thom Yorke has always been good at turning the most simple lines into heartbreaking-wreckingballs but "I think you're crazy" tops the lot, by a long way.

I think the feeling you get in this song is the same feeling you get when your soul transitions to its next life.

I get chills every time I imagine listening to Kid A when it first came out...especially because it's after OK Computer, which is such a mind-blowing album, your expectation would be no matter how much you loved Radiohead, you would never imagine that they would release another album on the same level...and then Kid A..just..holy fuck. I remember the first I heard this album, I thought to myself "how the fuck can music be this good".

When the harps come in its pure bliss and I start smiling like an idiot. I love you Radiohead, thank you for continuing to make beautiful music.

There is this album, it's full of electronica, uncoventional rhythms, cryptic lyrics and all this stuff and then there is this last track, more simple, Thom's voice is so close and I always get goosebumps... This is a masterpiece *-*

That moment when, after years of being aware of a song you've heard on an album you've played many times; you suddenly HEAR that song for the first time, and it hits you like a brick. That was me not too long ago.

This song helps me get where I belong.

The beauty of this track is its sense of pain and loss. Despite whatever it means, a loss of innocence, a death of a family member or a break-up between two lovers. I personally am vibing with the lover interpretation. The last line of seeing someone in the next life is indicative of a karmic connection, usually karmic connections are unstable and continuous if it feels like they did not fulfil their purpose behind the union. Thank you Radiohead for making this song so I can cry to it like a little baby when I am all alone in my house and no one can see me. Need to let it out somehow and this is helping.

Apparently Dave Matthews said of this album: 'There's a point on the album Kid A where I start feeling claustrophobic, stuck in a barbed-wire jungle, and then I suddenly fall out and I'm sitting by a pool with birds singing.' I remain convinced that moment is at 4:32 - it definitely sounds like a hidden paradise being discovered.

2:17-2:35 gets me everytime, so beautiful.

Still can't believe he wrote this when he was 17 years old. Awesome!

Last month I lost my childhood dog, who I've had for nearly 10 years. The first time I listened to this song after her death, I cried uncontrollably for about an hour. The song didn't really click for me until I truly knew what grieving felt like. I've had distant family members die before and I remember them fondly, but this was something different. My dog was there for every high and low point since I was 8 years old, and at my lowest point in life, she passed away. This song really does feel like the final moments in your life before you take your last breath, and it really fucked me up once I made that connection. Thank you Radiohead for making such gorgeous and depressing music, it takes alot to make me cry nowadays and you did it with a single song.

I was standing in the middle of a lake on a starry night and listening to this masterpiece just staring at the sky feeling so insignificant

I was so loving Fake Plastic Trees piano version on Westworld, when about 10 minutes later we get a Motion Picture Soundtrack violin version. With that combo, they could have spent the rest of the episode filming a tumbleweed blowing around, and it would still be a 10/10

One of those underappreciated songs that can't be out in a box. Always one of my favs.Just listened to the bit at 4:20 while staring at a candle in the dark and it was beautiful how the flickering seemed to sync up with the sound.

It's like Sigur Ros and Radiohead formed together and made this beautiful piece.

I've never heard anything like this, the desolate lyrics and uplifting strings make for a very chilling effect.

My opinion differs from everyone about what this song is about but there is no clear indication to what it could be. I believe that the women he loves sends him letters as some sort of romantic act. However he doesn't understand the purpose he knows its truly foolish. He tells her I think you're crazy and to wake up because it's all lies. He says sleeping pills and cheap sex because he doesn't find the light to his life and doesn't find the answers to his understanding, he doesn't feel satisfied, he feels disappointed. "Ill see you in the next life" means he hopes it's better in the next life. He just hopes for a better life that makes more sense. Romance, relationships, and life aren't truly represented like how they are in the movies, reality is sadly disappointing. The way Thom conveys this feeling is just something no one else I believe could achieve.

The most beautiful song ever recorded, by far. Nothing makes me feel shit like this, it's the only piece of music ever to be able to bring me to tears. Whenever I feel really down, I put headphones on and play this on max volume with my eyes closed and it just takes me somewhere else

For me this song is about a person who you love, and she committed suicide and you want to follow her to the next life. In the end of the song during the silence, the character died and when it comes that kind of string section at the very end, the character found his beloved one in the after life.

The lyrics are just something else. I don't think I've ever cared enough about anyone to relate to this song completely.

There are few songs that rattle me to my core, but this is one of them. I had heard it when I purchased the Kid A album a while back, and heard it, thinking it was nice. Months pass, and then, after listening to Sail to the Moon by Radiohead on repeat, this song popped up when RU-vid was autoplaying, and I remembered it, but this was the first time I truly listened to it. It is a great piece of music, and I am glad I understand that now. It was also like friggin 5 am when I was hearing it, and I could not sleep for an hour. I just kept thinking about it.

I heard an instrumental version of this and it made me feel a certain emotion and ponder a very specific message. I then listened to the Radiohead version and read the lyrics - the song is about the same message and emotion I felt. Now that's musical talent.

Story: All i need - weird fishes - motion picture soundtrack A man is deeply in love with a woman but they have a poor relationship which affects his mental health. He suffers from depression and anxiety and starts wondering "why should he stay here" and trying to escape from life. He does hit the bottom and escape by committing suicide in the end

years of living with my abusive parent and finally having moved out finally being my own person finally having no restrictions no judgements no sleepless nights knowing they will be there in the morning finally free and listening to this song makes me feel like i have blissfully made it.

there isn't really any other song in Radiohead's repertoire with a similar sound to this one (dream-rock, shoegazey style). They should try it out again at some point!

After watching the movie I feel like I relate to it on some level, I am talking about those toxic relationships, I guess we all had a girl like that, that fucked us up, left us broken, why do we love broken girls so much, that in the end we become broken ourselves cause of them. There is no happy ending with a girl like that but for some reason she's all u can think about.
