One of my favorite drummers because of his not too flashy playing, yet memorable drum parts, and he’s just a humble and quiet guy and I admire that. He’s influenced a lot of my playing with electronic music and odd time signatures.

Every member of Radiohead is a master and Selway has a decent sublety to contribute to the song. They create an immersive musical experience and there's no need for them to show off and that's what I like about them.

You talked about Optimistic. Phil Selway toward the end of the song was just awesome. One of his best. Yes, and that rolling tribal beat goes well with the rolling Mountainous landscapes in the background as you're driving through the desert. Was hoping you would mention that part of the song too.

Solid video. Great selection. Like every member in that band, Phil is extremely talented. His creativity in his drum style is incredible. His timing is unbelievably solid. He can play along with drum machines perfectly. That's not easy. I know when the band shifted styles from OK Computer to Kid A, it was challenging for some of the members. I'm sure it was for Phil. Not knowing what his place would be in a band with drum machines... But man, did he rise to the occasion.

I wonder how much you like the 2nd basement session for TKOL with Clive Deamer from Portishead and his Jazz band it sounds like nothing I have ever heard from dual drummers before the Percussion is amazing in the entire session.

Dude, you absolutely know good music! From The Beatles, Hendrix, Radiohead... Not sure if you get into the Grateful Dead, but if you haven't listened much, check them out. Also Medeski Martin and Wood!!! Billy Martin is an absolute beast!!
