Imagine if a song like this got re-released now, with some airplay. So much better than pretty much everything else coming out. Maybe, we could just start in January of 1990 and release all the songs in order, again, and see what sticks?
Have you both not listen to the words of this song! (Nobody wins!) The music industry is in the hands of the powers that be! ( biggest cutthroat business on the planet!!@ Teresa UK 🇬🇧 😢😢😢
Oh yes. Radney Foster was one of the best songwriters of that era. He could sing, but he made his living selling his songs to other mainstream artists. There are several other examples I'm just too tired to remember.
Dwight Yoakum isn't true country; he came along after the crossover in 1990, although he DID do a duet with Buck Owens in 1988 ( The Streets Of Bakersfield).
I said I hadn’t heard of this guy in a prior post on another song I liked… I’ve done my homework now, the man has earned his seat at the table, thank you Radney !!
He should have as much likes as Chris Brown and Justin Bieber. C'mon people like this song because we need this kind of music back in our world. With so many couples cheating, getting caught in family court and divorcing, we must all find the LOVE again in our hearts for us and our children.
This has always been my most favorite Radney Foster song. My Dad was a big Foster & Lloyd fan when I was a kid. That is where I 1st heard of both Foster & Lloyds music. I've always been a big lifelong fan of theirs thanks to my Dad. Thanks, Radney for awesome songs like this one. It is a Classic & you are a Musical Legend. :)
Loved this song so much back in the day. The whole CD was phenomenal. Honestly, my favorite cut was probably "Louisiana Blue." Lo, forgot the girl removed his specs. Can't take the glasses off of Radney Foster. That's like removing the glasses from Harold Lloyd or Buddy Holly. Radney, James House and Skip Ewing three of the best and most Underrated Singer/Song Writers ever. Was a huge fan of all 3 of those guys. Who was that Gal, Jennifer Connely? Sure looked like her.
Excellent singer-songwriter all those years ago and to date. MCC had the good sense to sing harmony on this song way way back too. Good call! Wonderful guy too.
I had the honor of introducing Radney at an in-store gig about eight years ago in my community radio days. Cool dude, can’t describe him better. If I ever rank my favorite country singles of the 90s, this one’s a contender for pole position.
I can't believe this song ended up foreshadowing my own existence. Didn't have any experience with anyone upon first hearing it, now feels haunting having lost my first, and what I assuredly thought to be, only love.
14 year old me didn't think this guy was "cool" in the 90's because he didn't wear a big old black cowboy hat. Later discovered what an amazing song writer he is, and so talented and hot that he didn't need the hat.
This guy along with several other Texas grates in this era the music was above and beyond but never forgotten even though it did not get it's just recognition
Love this song. I was in a 2 yr relationship that was not good for me or her. We both did and said things that was regretted til this day and you know what's messed up is that almost a year later after seperating. My heart still drops and my eyes still tear up when I think about her. Out of the relationships I've ever been in I actually still love her and miss her dearly every day. Like I tried dating since we went our separate ways and all I can still think about is her! Oh god how I wish I could turn back time. I honestly would be the man she deserved and needed for the rest of my life 😥 I LOVE YOU SHERRI LYNN VASQUEZ/BRANNON AND I ALWAYS WILL. I HOPE YOU ARE OUT THERE SOMEWHERE HAPPY AND FULL OF LIFE 🙏🏻💯
Some of the Best musicians in the Lone Star. Del Rio 1959 will stand & hold its place in authentic certified bona fide country. These guys/gal are the Real Deal. They know their craft. Thanx Radney & crew. ☝🏼⛪🙏🏼⚾🥎🎸🚀🚚😎🕶️👓👍🏼
This was a great & awesome song of mine when i was a kid :) It was played on the radio on a station i used to listen to on 98.5 KUPL when I 1st heard it :)
A catchy "feel-good" kind of song !!! Saw him in concert; at the time was part of a duo act... "Foster & Lloyd". Along with Restless Heart, opened for Hank Williams Jr (1988)
I remember hearing the song in 93. The song was in 93 and 94. The song does the back ground vocals by Mary Chapin Carpenter. I miss Radney and Mary. What happened?
First time I heard this song, I noticed the female voice at the very end. No mistaking who it was. Kim Ritchey also does a duet with Radney that is worth a listen.
