Earlier today, Flight Lieutenant Mark Long, the Typhoon's display pilot, had warned the lack of wind would make the aircraft "crazy loud" - and as the sound built into a thunderous roar you could see people start to cover their ears.
Honestly, nothing beats seeing the typhoon in real life. Nothing can compare to that beautiful thunderous roar as it passes by amd the way you can feel it through your entire body. Breathtaking.
It’s an incredible aircraft. It was the best bit of the 2017 Scampton show. The pilot really tore it up and you could feel it in every cell of your body. Just awe inspiring.
It is literally thunderous. I wouldnt agree about a rafale being as loud. Near but not as. Airplane wise its as good as...id say an f15 is louder than a typhoon though
This has to be in my top display of the Typhoon. Superbly thrown around the sky with skill. Plenty of tight high "G" turns, vertical climbs and high speed passes. This aircraft never disappoints at a display and the noise !! Only trumpt by a Vulcan for the hit in the chest by sheer volume but it does come close. I could watch this all day if i had the chance to see it live again. Top gun got nothing on this one though I havnt seen Maverick yet but that's only make believe on film. I'll stick with the Typhoon, it still gives me goose bumps each time i see it in display.
Another great filmed video. If I were filming it'll be out of focus and missing most of the performance... Skills in filming are greatly appreciated 👍🏼😊
Another fantastic vid, Elwyn - Cheers for posting. I was there for the Typhoon display a couple of years ago and it was incredible how you could feel your chest rumbling and rattling every time it made a pass. We can all read the stats but until you stand there and watch it "in the flesh" and marvel at the incredible rate of climb, you can't fully appreciate what a brilliant machine it truly is.
Superbly filmed. Cloudy background is very nice. As if I was there myself. I saw the Typhoon during its first public flying display in Britain in 1996 (Farnborough) and also had the opportunity to sit down in the (mock-up) Typhoon for a few moments at Farnborough in 2000.
I work in an industrial estate half a mile from the main gates at RAF Fairford and I too can vouch for how flippin' loud this thing is! It also seems to defy the laws of physics, I was amazed at how this very heavy piece of kit decided to re-invent the laws of gravity.
listening to this in max volume is like your really there watching the typhoon do some great manoeuvres and the thrust of this aircraft is like 10x more powerful than any aircraft in the world and I saw this aircraft at the Clacton airshow 2016 last year and we saw half of its display then the fog came in from the sea and we didn't see the end bit so this is exactly the same sort of stunts this typhoon produced on RU-vid that we missed halfway in the video. What an aircraft :D
Glen Cameron not anymore 😊the F 35 lightening two dominated these in trials earlier in the year, in a war like situation trial the F 35 had a hit ratio of 9:1 against the typhoon, typhoon is still a beast though
What a load of bull! Please reply with a link so I can see this because it is absolute bull. The f35 is a bomber the typhoon would destroy it in air combat. Forget all that stelf bull aswell typhoon would pic it up and take it down the f35 is a slug
Jay 89 www.autoblog.com/2016/05/16/the-f-35-lightning-ii-beats-eurofighter-hornet-denmark/ That's one link I found - your welcome for more, this was at the red flag 2017 war exercise - it's not the f35 it's the f35 2 - the new one - I'm in the royal navy and was in the Falklands last year where they have typhoons and the squadron who fly them even said these new f35s will be great, the kit inside the typhoons are 1980s!
Say what you will about the F-22 but this aircraft seems to me to be able to do stuff no other can - some of those manoeuvres seemed to defy the laws of aerodynamics! Its agility and power is phenomenal, and its avionics almost supernatural. And it's very beautiful...
Stunning display and brilliant camerawork, Elwyn. I subscribed a good while back. Enjoyed this one. Wasn't a fan of the Typhoon when it first appeared but it's grown on me since. The Phantom is my all-time favourite machine though. Look forward to seeing more of your great work.
Still my goto Typhoon display this... not just that it's down the road from me but the display itself...it's aggressive and we've lost some of that I think in the last couple of years. The camerawork is incredible on this.@@ElwynR
Stunning footage, that lighting as well at times is amazing. Great job keeping up with the Typhoon as well, I have tried to film it before and had to give up! Enjoyed.
Awesome display and fantastic video my first Southport Airshow just happened during my last UK trip the Sat show & weather was great but the Sunday show was cancelled as the weather forecast was not good, they sure got that right it was a shocker checked out of my hotel a day early and headed up to the Lake District on a very wet Sunday.
That acceleration at 6.50 is breathtaking, and into the climb...you dont realise the altitude its gained in 10 secs. Must be near on 8000ft. When elwyn zooms out it puts the typhoons rate of climb into perspective!
Amazing video, so clear. I love typhoon with the gear down against the sun about 5.17 .... and you know what's coming ... reheat, gear up, vertical! This video is only outdone by aircraft performance. Superb.
I love e the plane because of the noses it gives you when it flys past and I love it because of how fast it goes past you and I would love to see it at RAF cosford again great stuff
@@marksudlow5083 u good? I said that it’s not the plane that is good, it’s the pilot. If you put that pilot in a mig 21 it would be the exact same as the typhoon you silly boy🤣
i watched the typhoon at torquay yesterday i was on a boat so was very close to the typhoon, this video doesnt give justice to the noise it makes i had goosebumps all over just watching this, i tried to film it and it was like playing twister on a boat, you done a great job filming it
kspolo smith We use G suits. When they are pulling positive G's, the suit inflates and prevents blood from going into their feet and legs which would cause them to lose consciousness. I am in training for RAF
well done mate , filming that took a lot of skill , I tried and mostly failed to video this on Saturday , just got a few short watchable clips , what camera did you use ?
Absolutely stunning footage! I salute you! I wasn't there in 2016, but i have been wowed by the Typhoon at Southport many times, over the years. She NEVER fails to impress. Nor does she ever fail to get the hairs on the back of my neck standing to attention. Lol! Even watching this clip had that effect. Thanks for posting... \m/ (:o)
Love the typhoon me my all time favourite followed by the tornado GR4's.go the airshows on the Saturday then on the Sunday I wait on the banks of the Mersey to watch it scream past, what a sight that is.
Thanks, great video Elwyn - was there - at front, down from pier - even with speakers turned up full - the noise isn't same when you actually hear it live, awesome.
Just come from festival of flight biggin hill.... This plane is insane.... Can't explain the feeling as it roars over your head..... Pure euphoria.... Breathtaking
