He's made history. No one can beat the new record of 22 major trophies. If any, it must be Djoko. Humanity should wait half a century to see a greater clay emperor to show up.
Of course he wants to win more titles and secure his position as goat, he is obviusly lying in that regard. He wouldn't be risking his health and foot just for the love of the game, simple as that.
Mental approach to the game is important. Nadal is not lying in what he said because that's what he has in mind. Other players may have their own mental approach or the mindset. It's a choice to make for convenience purposes. In any case, Nadal must have thinking that no matter how much the health risk is, it hasn't reach the level where he has to forget tennis.
I am a 82 years old great mother who has been following Rafa from day 1! I am so proud of him in everyway. I pray that young boys and girls will see his love for the game, his honesty, and obvious love for even the ball boys and girls. He is truly an example to all of the sports world!!! My prayers are with him in the future decisions he has to make.
You are such a sweet person, full of respekt for Rafa. I am 70 and as well a fan of him, since I first saw him, when he was only 17. He is such a good player and a kind person. Wish you all the best for many more years 🤗 🌷🌷🌷
Norma Burnham absolutely agree with you. I too am privileged to be in an era where I have seen this talented human being play & carry himself with grace, dignity & humility. It all comes down to family. God bless them always.
It's pretty amazing how he remembers every moment of the match point by point and every winner and mistake he made. He is like scanning the entire game all the time. What a mind!
If only everyone in the world were as humble, honest, straightforward, hard-working and grounded as this guy, this planet wouldn't be such a messed up place. Is there a better role model for anything, anywhere on Earth than Rafa?
How can anyone ever talk smack on Rafa? Such a honest, thoughtful & awesome human being, I hope Rafa can win more slams & the 2024 Olympic Gold, the Olympic tennis will be held at Roland Garros
He has had several confidence issues over the years- largely centered around his injuries. What will always be 100% is his effort level. A lot of athletes are hard workers, of course, but nobody gives more than Nadal.
Congratulations Rafa 22 Slams 14 French Opens 4 US Opens 2 Australian Opens and 2 Wimbledon Championships Olympic Gold in Singles and Doubles what a legend.
What a wonderful human being. Rafael Nadal is the best tennis champion ever and a great example to all humanity. The "most important thing is the daily work". We all live by his wisdom. Always very intelligent and courteous.
Rafa's mood was like mine watching ESPN's broadcast, i was like "can we just enjoy this victory instead of speculating about his retirement or whether he'll play Wimbledon? always the same pointless comparisons and worst case scenarios, which is ok i guess, but he just won a major title through particularly difficult health issues, it should be celebrated instead of pushing nostalgia and killing the vibe. Rafa reminds me once again to stay positive through every difficulty and just in general, i'm in awe today by what he's accomplished, and i hope he can keep going for at least another year, and even if he doesn't he'll remain one of my biggest inspirations, if not the biggest. Vamos Campeón! we love you 💖
The most… loveliest tennis player in this tennis universe … of course with my dearest love the same love for these both.. with Roger Federer.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌈🌈🌈🌟🎈
Nadal is a superman. Can not believe what he has achieved this year. Can you imagine the mental fortitude this guy possesses. There are no words to explain Nadal as a whole package. A great human being and a what an attitude he has on everything that he deals with. There is no comparison that one can think of in the tennis world and other sports world who could match with Nadal as a role model. This person is simply gifted with so many good things about him. So happy when Nadal succeeds. Nadal keeps inspiring everyone. Nadal is the best there is today as far as celebrities go.
What a gracious and human being. I love Rafa for the human being he is first ; before the tennis! He is always praising other players. Have never heard him talk about his prowess!
Rafa, thank you so much for all you do, for all you are, a true, one of a kind inspiration and dreamed example to all generations in every aspect. How privileged we are to have you. What a role model. Bright, ever lasting shooting star in firmament. Congratulations champion.
Wheelchair tennis player are better than all healthy player....shame how no one comments on them and no one come to watch them. The stadium is empty. Wheelchair tennis player have the greatest passion...Salute Nadal, Nole, Fed but they cant compare with this kind of people.
@Rafa undisputed Goat I'm sorry you don't know what you're doing. Humility is to receive praise and criticism in the same way. Bewar false gods and Dont argue rather beat yourself up.
My favorite part during the English portion was when the journalist from the Washington Post asked Rafa about his game plan during the final and Rafa said "Thanks for asking about tennis." 😂 The rest of them were too obsessed about Rafa's medical challenges and his retirement.
Maaan... Is so sad to see him talking about retirement because his body is obviously in very good shape outside his foot problems.. it's not like he is too old to play.. but yeah.. I wish that the doctors can figure it out.. love you Rafa! stay strong!
Love how he gave the Coupe des Mousquetaires Trophy a little pat again after the press conference, like a little ‘goodbye for now, I’ll see u real soon’ gesture 🥰🏆
THE ultimate and true sportsman, professional, and gentleman. The definition of enjoying the competition for competition sake. Giving it his all every single chance he realizes he's fortunate to have been blessed to play. Taking nothing for granted. Respecting the sport & his competition. All of this about Nadal's work ethic, passion & results defines what a "GOAT" really means to us. But to him, he's just enjoying every second of it with grace & humility. Thank you Mr. Nadal. Healing graces & blessings to you.
The Absolutely Greatest of All Time, Rafa puts his PASSION ahead of his LIFE, no debate needed. We could never be grateful enough for what we re witnessing. Just enjoy #22
Being mentally and physically ready to compete in any sport are basic attributes...all sports people are always susceptible to injuries, both mental and physical...dealing with personal life as well as ensuring their bodies are match fit are daily challenges for all. Some of us are lucky, some are gifted, some try harder, some are chosen and some are just talented beyond realisation. We're just so fortunate to witness greatness from Rafael Nadal and we can all learn from his life experiences to improve our own, may it be only a fraction of what he has achieved in life. His positives clearly outweigh his negatives. One of the greatest sportsman ever!
@@izm4028 For me there are no apparent negatives to Rafa, although we all have some... personally I really respect his attention to detail such as placement of his water bottles, pre-serve ritual, foot sweep of the baseline on clay plus many others...all of them make Rafa the person he is...respecting ones individuality is the beginning of learning how to adore and respect other people which in turn will make us more aware of ourselves...I know it's not a philosophy lesson here but from my perspective learning about how many elements are collaborated to make us what we become and progress is a fascination.
I already commented on another video but on the off-chance Rafa might see it here I say again: I ❤ this man! He possesses the best qualities of a sportsman and a champion --- grace, dignity, generosity and kindness to everyone from his opponents to the ball-kids. He maintains control and temperament every match; I've never, ever seen him abuse his racket or scream obscenities on the court. AND, of course, he's a veritable tennis beast on the court -- a machine! I will watch any match he plays and I'm thrilled for this supernatural 14th win at RG!! I say again, I ❤ this man! Take care of yourself Rafa! Vamos!!!!
He's the only G.O.A.T.!!! 22 Grand Slams over all.. 14 at French Open!!! Thats insane!!! Thanks Rafa for all you have done for this sport.. you are a legend!!!
@@BogdanPW641 you are right buddy.. now its Novak over all but at RG its still Rafa and you see i wrote it one year ago so our discussion is senseless anyway 😂.. have a nice day 😎🍻
I have been a Rafa fan since he came to the scene. His humility when he wins or when he loses are very commendable , a great trait for a GOAT. Thank you not only for all that you do in the tennis world but also what you do with your charitable work. Stay healthy and happy.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Rafa’s prowess on the red dirt is unmatched. It’s amazing that he played without being able to feel his foot. That makes his accomplishment even more unbelievable. I pray that God will heal his foot so that he won’t have to be injected with anesthetics just to play tennis.🙏🏾
Mueller Weiss syndrome never heals. It never goes away. The question is how many more months can Rafa play ? Because eventually he can get fully disabled from his foot and then he will have to announce his retirement.
Amongst all personality traits of Nadal I want his mindset. You can train the body to world- championship standards but only a chosen few own and nurture what put gods apart from the rest: a bullet- proof mindset.
He crecido viendo jugar a Rafa.
one incredible Tennis Player and Gentleman. Always humble and so down to earth. Dedicated to his sport. no excuses for a loss and never any pounding of his chest in a win. Pure role model for all the young ones following in his tennis footsteps. Such a pleasure to watch him define his Sport. the GOAT .
Rafa said, in essence, is that it took a village for his great achievements. His great talent and desire to play the game and win, were only part of his career. VIVA RAFA!! VAMOS!!!
Wow, unbelievable what this man is up against and continues to prove he is the 🐐! Today watching him play was so awesome! The way he was hitting his shots and not committing too many errors there is no one on tour that would of beat him today!!! We'll definitely miss this wonder player /person when he retires! Gracias vamos Rafa!!!
@@aleksastojanovic8629 OK I'll give you those points, but your taking in the fact that Nadal unfortunately has had more injuries and didn't participate in more grand slams and other events. Rafa head to head has a better record than Joker. Joker loves to play the winner and it shows yelling obsenities at fans and breaking rackets. When have you seen Rafa does those antics. NEVER TRUE professional on and off the court.
@@JoseMendez-qk6jm why is that important that with brake tecketd? Nole is so good person he donated million for covid serbia , million for covid in spain , million for covid in italu, donated money to australia , and rafa is not good in each score (nole30-rafa29) you cant say rafa goat against this numbers man
What an achievement, Rafa, congratulations, you have as many RG titles, 14, as the number of Grand Slams Pete Sampras had combined (AO+Wimbledon+USO....no RG though) in his entire career...wow...
Congratulations Rafa. The talent in you, the hard works you put in and determination are God's work & gift you carry so well with humility as well as love for tennis & gratitude. So proud that you are so humble-such a gentleman. Thank you for letting me witness your great talent you give us fans so selflessly. Please stay forever young tennis needs you. Get well soon ❤🥰
Absolute pleasure to watch this man play. I love Roger and will love him forever. But Rafa's grit, passion and determination are unmatched, and he shall always remain the source of resilience for me in my life. Thank you so much Rafa for being an inspiration.
Hope no one’s missing the fact that he won the tournament with a foot asleep! How on earth do you do that? I can’t even stand without support when my foot is asleep!!! Good lord! Imagine what he would have achieved if he didn’t have this issue his whole career!!
Your health and happiness is always the most important. As much as everyone and I want you to play Wimbledon, please do what's best for you so you can play longer. Good luck with the treatment, Rafa. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Rafa deserves to win 2022 French Open. Very humble but tough. Congratulations and hope you can still play 2 or 3 more years. His tennis legacy will live on forever.
"Nunca soñé con conseguir todo lo que he conseguido". Eso es lo que sucede cuando día a día se trabaja para el éxito, no para superar a los demás sino para superarse a si mismo; el resultado es lograr cosas que jamás soñamos, hacer que la realidad vaya más allá de los sueños. Y esto es lo que inspira este señor Rafael Nadal.
To ALL Nadal haters and naysayers, #14 🏆 is dedicated to you guys. Against all ODDS, Rafa overcame all obstacles thrown at him. One-sided draw, having to play at night session that he didn't want, having to play 4 top ten players on his way to the final. Message is quite clear: NEVER count Nadal out. RG is his castle and he is STILL the UNDISPUTED KING 🤴 of Clay! At 36yrs old, winning another RG title after the pundits, tennis experts/commentators, Djoko and Fed fan boys etc all wrote him off. What an unbelievable achievement for the ages. I would suggest to those Djoko riders who keep claiming NOVAX is the GOAT, you all need to bite it and STFU. Give all the excuses you want for Rafa winning his 2nd GS of the year, His racquet 🎾 is doing all the talking....and Rafa is not done yet! 2022 = #22 GS 🏆and counting. 💪🇪🇦
I don't have TC & I was lamenting over it being able to see History. Thank you, Peacock for streaming this final!!! I got to watch and cheer & celebrate! Congratulations, Rafa. Well done.
He said he can't remember whether Euud won any practice sessions! When they asked the same from Ruud he said he never won any practice match against Rafa!. That shows how humble Rafa is and doesn't want to make things uncomfortable for Ruud and he didn't celebrate much after winning. Because of Zeverev and Ruud is a close friend and Rafa didn't want to hurt Ruud's feelings!
Dear Rafa we love you so much and want you to go out on a high at the top of your game!! Please retire while you’re on top. Don’t let lesser players get a “scalp” against you in future slams. This is a beautiful victory. Respect how much your body has given you! Please retire, for our nerves - we live every point with you and always have! It’s exhausting! Haha! Enhorabuena!
Rafael Nadal is a Gladiator. The fight is more important than the trophies. His passion for the game is now unparalleled it serves as an inspiration not only for a tennis player but to all sportsmen and the public in general. But at the end of the day, the most important thing is how great a person he is. Humble and always plants his feet on the ground. We must enjoy his remaining years on the tour.
For all the fans would be interesting to get the spanish part of the interview translated,he enriches some answers. For example,he has explained that in RG2016,following some problems on the wrist,he forced the doctor to inject him anesthetics against medical opinion, and it resulted in a mayor injury, causing him to retire. Being as humble as he is,I think he doesn`t want to focus on the risks he has taken, but a proof they have been big is that he will not repeat it in Wimbledon, and believe me,if Rafa loves one tournament,it is Wimby.
¡FELICITACIONES RAFA!!!!!! 14to Abierto de Francia. 22do Grand Slam. G.O.A.T. ¡VAMOS RAFA!!!!!!!!!!!!
The guy has just achieved an historic win and the first 18 mins is questions about his injury and speculation about his career. Guy is so patient! Also love the comment: “if you are not surprised to win 22 grand slams you are super arrogant.” That’s why he’s appreciated so much. Listen and learn next gen!
RAFA, the NIMSDAI of tennis. Love you Rafa since 2005, wish you and your family happy, healthy life. You have been a source of supreme inspiration to this generation. Hope you keep on going and win more Grand Slams, and even more laurels. 🙏🙏🙏
What must be disconcerting and disheartening for the competition is, despite all his stellar achievements, Rafa's motivation to still strive for improvements in his game which has already earned him a phenomenal 22 major titles.
Eres un enorme orgullo para España. Te admiramos muchísimo. Eres Grande, Rafa. GRANDE! 💪💪👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇪🇸
I will miss nadal when he retired. But, his health, foot are way more important. I wish Rafa the best on whatever he dose in life. Congratulations on GS22.
Congrats on RG14 and GS#22!You are one of the greatest ambassadors for our sport always! I remember watching you on Transworld sports in 2004. You then appeared in 2005 and the rest is 22 GS! Vamos forever our legend!
Congratulations Rafa for everything you achieved in tennis. Keep giving us happiness in tennis court. You deserve more titles. Good luck. Iam following you since when you were young. Congratulations again
36 years young, he couldn't have hoped for a better birthday gift than to get his 14th French Open crown and 22nd slam overall. He's no longer the king of clay, he is the clay master. I just hope he can stay healthy enough to tie Margaret Court with 24 slams, and then set the record with number 25, within the next two years or so
Somehow do not appreciate the line of questioning by most journalists. I mean he won the slam 14 times. Just goddamn celebrate it instead of injection this injury that.
I've been a tennis and cycling fan ever since I was a kid and to me Rafa Nadal is the best sportsman ever in history. His "never give up" attitude and his mental strenght should be studied. It is always a joy to see him overcome games which anybody else would have considered lost. Congrats on his 14th RG and againg. Only but the biggest admiration one can have for a sportsman. Chapeau! Rafa.
