You watch Rafa playing you see greatness. But when you listen to what he says, his mentality, humbleness, relentless positive thinking and the love inside of his heart…. Then you understand Greatness
Never see Rafa play so calmly and not celebrate points like how he used to in other matches. He simply put those emotions aside and played like enough is enough. I'm not going to loose one more final here
He said to the press (to the spanish journalists that asked him) he didn't interact that much with the crowd because he didn't have the strength anymore, that he was very tired. He also said in spanish that he didn't celebrate as he's done it in other occasions because of the same, he had no more power in him. Congrats, Rafa!
@@waterfire339 I figured that much. I kept remarking how incredibly calm he was but I figured it was bcoz he didn't want to expend too much energy on court and needed to channel the enough to focus on each point!
I am a grown adult and I cried like a baby when Rafa won the final point. No words to describe how much Rafa means to me, how much of a role model he has been to me, and how happy I am today. VAMOS Rafa!
6 months out of the game, gets Covid in December plays a small tournament a week before and is now the undisputed greatest player of all time!! Just incredible!!
In the end I think Rafael Nadals legacy will be the role model he is to the real spirit of human achievement. How to succeed and overcome with honor and humility. To keep what this means in perspective. A genuine thankfulness with no puffing up. And the love of the game. To heck with GOAT this and GOAT that. His character is what makes him a real champion.
Without a doubt, Rafa has the most class of the 3. Fed had gotten better over the years, but his early years of arrogance are hard to forget. Exceeeeept, when you think about Jerkovic, you forget that Federer was arrogant at all. Jerkovic and the word "class" should never be put in a sentence together again.
I did too.i couldn't help myself.i couldn't watch it as my heart wouldn't take it.i was on my knees when he won.my hubby was keeping me updated..such a wonder guy and what a come back.
I could not watch after the second match then I consoled myself by saying he has nothing to lose. Picked to other channels asI was so nervous. When I went back, he was fighting in the fifth set that’s when I watched the full match.lose boom he was fighting I; the fourth set. Man you gave us
Fed fan here. If anyone says Fed, Rafa or Djokovic is the GOAT you have to respect their opinion. All 3 are true greats and amazing ambassadors of tennis. We are all lucky to witness these legends. Rafa deserves this title, what a warrior!
Thank you for your comment. I still don't understand why people feel the need to write negative comments just because their favorite didn't play. Someone will always beat someone else, that's life. We will never change other people's perception of who's the best.
That’s exactly what I keep saying. I find the goat debate so trivial. All of them have records that won’t be broken in our lifetime. Instead of enjoying the sport, people argue over who is the greatest. 🤦♀️
Im a Rafa fan and i agree with you. No more comparison. Let's Just be happy we are bless with such a historic era witnessing these three greats doing what nobody thought could do. It's mind boggling at this point. Wow.
Every time he wins I call my daughter to share the big joy we had because we both love this guy. Today, even if it was totally unexpected, we have, again, enjoied this new title and mainly the big match.
You know what, I've been his fan since I was so little and now I'm 28. Your comment remind me of my childhood memories of my love for the game watching it for hours along with my dad cheering for him. He is a fan of Rafa too. 🥰
My all time favorite player.. 5.22hours of amazing game.. What an energy from a 35yrs old man.. Congratulations and well done Rafa.. Cheers from Malaysia.. 🎊🎉👍💪
I realise that in sports terms 35 years of age is equivalent to being a grandpa but I keep finding it funny when people say it like it’s near the end of a man’s life 😅
Not only is Rafa a superb and amazing athlete, warrior, and champion , but he is also a modest, kind, sweet guy who is not arrogant or full of himself at all. He talks about the important things in life, acknowledging the huge losses of so many due to COVID, and repeatedly said he’s grateful and feels lucky to be where he is along with his incredibly hard work and amazing talent. A great perspective. Vamos RAFA!!!!!
@@oloos8787 Medvedevs inexperience? He’s arguably the best player in the world currently, grand slam winner and finalist. Nadal was incredible today, even Medvedev said that. Nadal hadn’t played in 6 months and has a chronic foot injury to boot. Don’t be bitter.
i‘ve been a rafa fan for all my life, and i have never seen a more commited competitor. no words for breaking his australia curse. he has had bad luck here so often, tonight seemed to make all the pain worthwhile. i love you, champion
I think everything that needs to be said has been said so I will just say congratulations to Rafa. A fantastic sportsman who is admired all over the world for his hard work dedication to the sport

Unbelievable how he has won both his AO titles. Both 2009 and 2022 involved two five setters each time. Skill, sheer guts and longevity considering he was ready to say goodbye this year. Unreal and yet truly inspiring. Most importantly he has won the career slam twice. Truly rarefied company
He has had so much adversity at the AO so it was justice that he finally had something break his way at this tournament. His physical and mental toughness won him a match that he had no right to win. This is the stuff of legends.
Rafa's career transcends tennis. It teaches us about life in general and that's why I'm one of his biggest fan since 2008. I would love to see him play at least a few times before he retires.

Glued to the tv screen for the whole 5 hours and 22 something minutes. This was the demonstration of everything that make us love tennis. Competition at the highest level, emotions, excitement, crowd passion, but most of all what talent, resilience and grit could achieve.
It was a tear jerker, epic ending. Thank you for giving so much to the sport of tennis and to millions of your fans. Thank you ❤️ 🔥. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦.

What a comeback victory!!! The win predictor showed 96% Medvedev - 4% Nadal at the end of second set. Your victory today is a perfect example of what self belief, desire, dedication and determination can do. Vamos Rafa...
This Australian open has been hounding him for so many years, atlast he got it..congrats to him and his team...he is ultimate fighter the tennis has ever produced...
@@zazu9117 you are free to get vaccinated or not but there are consequences for your actions. Let's see what the French and US government do because as it stands only vaccinated players will be allowed.
As a Spaniard, thank you Rafa. I have no words once more. Thank you for giving us what we were really lacking this days, a bit of hope. Cheers to you, rest well and come back safe, we miss you.
Being a champion is about losing with grace as much as winning. Nobody beats Rafa in being humble after losing, especially after his tough losses to Djokovic. His win here takes me back to the epic 6hour match against Novak in Australian Open years ago. It was Rafas time this time. Wether he won or lost today, still a great champion.
.... and also the greatest and most important rolemodel for every youngster in sports to learn about Fairness, manners, smart and respectful behaviour, ..... the list could go on and on
As a Roger fan, I’m happy to see Rafa win this one. And I adored his honesty at the end, of course you want to be the player with the most titles, it’s only natural for a competitive sport, but the way he goes around that and his career is truly inspirational. Congratulations, Rafa! 🔥
Hey..I'm a Federer fan too but really admire Nadal..Not only is he an outstanding athlete, his humility and earnestness is truly remarkable.. I'm glad Federer and Nadal fans are not spewing hatred and acknowledging their greatness.. Both of them have utmost respect for each other.. Fans should do the same..
I tell you what, I have my reasoning to say he’s the greatest but my main reason is he has something in him that very few athletes have and that is what I like to call “scary killer instinct” Basketball- jordan Hockey- Gretzky Baseball- Hank Aaron Football- Tom Brady Boxing- mike Tyson Golf- tiger woods Tennis- Nadal He’s got a gift inside him where he can reach a level no one can touch. That’s why he’s the goat to me.

Rafa won because he did it his way... worked hard to be where he is. A great champion. Got nothing to do with God and all that crap. Take your fairytales elsewhere......
I am a Rafa Fan! What he has achieved during his career is unbelievable, what Novak and Roger achieved is also unbelievable…They have been around for almost 20 years and I understand that people cheer for them…but I really don’t understand the attitude of the crowd. It’s one thing to cheer for Rafa and another one to be rude to Daniil. He didn’t deserve that…he played great and both of them deserved to win. So congrats to both of them. Rafa is a legend and I hope Medvedev will become one!
Congrats Rafa! 👏 The match was truly amazing...the heart, determination, and fight you showed was remarkable. I was near tears during match point...credit goes to Medvedev also. Have no idea how he was able to maintain his composure with the entire crowd rooting against him since the opening set.
Congratulation Rafael Nadal, my Hero and Inspiration of life, so proud of you. You are now definitely the Real Goat of Tennis with 21st Slam that you earn with passion, fighting spirit, and relentless energy, after got serious injured and covid 19, you still Made it. Just Wow. You finally get the second AO title 2022 in the third time Lucky after two unlucky loses when up a break in the fifth set in 2012 and 2017 (what a Miracle coicidence this happen every 5 years 🤭).. Thank you so much Universe for granted my praying and accepted my offering, although I gonna lose my one year luck just because I really wanna Rafa to win the title, but it's worth it and gonna pay off with the forever happiness memory about Rafa's Victory this year, this memory gonna cheer up the rest of my life. Congratulation Rafa, The Absolute Goat of Tennis. ❤️👍
Unbelievable match. Incredible comeback, not just in the final but in general after the injuries. Amazing. 21 GS as the first and the rivalry continues. This should even somehow motivate Novak to get vaccinated if he does not want to miss the chance to play for the 21st slam this season. We'll see. Congrats to Danil as well, tough that the crowd was so against him and the little kid isn't dreaming anymore. I hope gets mentally as strong as Novak and will overcome this and also get some love from the fans in the next tournaments, he is a great player, fighter and also a champion. Let's go
What a comeback Rafa, it's an amazing effort , the sheer skill and guts has brought him to where he is.. at top. Congratulations champion Rafa. Eager to see many more feats, God bless..
Congratulation King Rafa. What an epic final, what an epic fight. Hope u can still play for few more years. For years, u've been an inspiration to many, & hope u'll continue to inspire us 🤴🤴🤴
It's amazing to know that it's 3:00 a.m. in the morning, and Rafa's (and also Medvedev) doing the presser. He's as professional as it gets. Congratulations! on # 21 GSs and # 2 AOs. He's my GOAT, btw.

Congratulations Rafa! You are the embodiment of the indomitable spirit of humans in sport. True champion. Nobody deserves more than you. I am so happy for Rafa…..He’s been my favorite and the reason I love tennis so much…He’s a fierce warrior and yet an incredibly humble and genuine ambassador for the game of tennis !!! Well done Rafa !!!!
Im a Rafa fan since 2005 .. I'm glad to see him still winning like this. Vamos Rafa 21 GS is unbelievable.❤ Now my request to all of you go check medvedev interview. It's so heartbreaking. Why does the crowd have to be rude to him. Medvedev sounds like he wants to stop playing Grand slams. "The little kid stop dreaming".this is so heartbreaking. The new gens need encouragement. 🥺
I completely agree with you. While I enjoyed Rafa’s win, Dani’s loss and what he faced today was heartbreaking. Medvedev is an amazing player, and a very humble guy. At the end of the day, he’s human too, and nobody deserves boos and jeers. I hope he gets the love that Rafa and Fed get on court one day. He totally deserves it.
I think they are not against medvedev but they are admiring Rafa and Roger at most. When he played against felix or stefanos the crowd was cheering as much as for the opponents
@@vamosdaniel22 I completely agree with you on that. But when the crowd cheers the opponent on a crucial point that you end up losing, like that missed volley from Dani, it does take a toll on you emotionally. Maybe if it were anyone, even Tsitsipas or even maybe Djoker, they would have had to face the same reaction from the crowd. But unfortunately for Dani, he first had to face this when he played Kyrgios and then with Rafa, it did affect him.
Sad, yes, but while the tourney spokeswoman is speaking, he shakes his head derisively and keeps sayin "boring, boring." It is hard to sympathize with that kind of immaturity....
Nadal THE BEST!! What a winner!! A couples a matches ago he was down on the ground with stomach pain. Today he is coming back and wins! Exceptional player! HATS OFF!!! El mejor jugador del mundo!!
Rafa you are amazing. Your talent and your fighting spirit are just too incredible for words. Watching this match I just cannot believe the shots you made. You got robbed of the 2017 Australian Open trophy because Federer called a medical time out just as your momentum was running away with the match. I watched all your matches in that tournament. That was wrong of him to call that timeout to get a rest and devise a new strategy as you waited on the bench. He wanted to win so bad so he did this to you. I’ve never forgotten it. I’ve never liked him since. You’ve been my favorite player since I saw you play at age 18. Best of luck in the French to get #22. You’re the best that’s ever played the game.
What made this win significant was that the oddsamakers favored Medvedev significantly higher than Rafa from the very get go to win. What was most discouraging for Rafa was when he lost the first two sets of the match. To then achieve victory after winning the following three sets in a row at a Grand Slam is incredible.

Epic match! Rafa is absolutely incredible in every way. I’m so happy for him. But at the same time, I just listened to Daniil’s post match interview and it hurt my heart. He’s a wonderful guy too and I admire his fortitude in withstanding the onslaught of negativity and often nastiness from the spectators. It was shameful. It’s one thing to root for your favorite but quite another to vociferously root against his opponent by cheering his mistakes and booing him at every turn. I admire his composure because he played an outstanding match despite the vitriol of the crowd. Rafa will always be my fave, but Daniil just earned himself another BIG fan.
When you won the 20th, sweeping clean your biggest rival - that was the pinnacle! I promised myself that I am not going to expect anything else from you; not going to stress over your matches; but... Look where it took us last night: to say that I was literally pulling my hair out, and my wife couldn't watch the match after the second set is such an understatement of the emotional rollercoaster we went through - not in my entire life I would be able to comprehend what you went through last night, and what your parents and wife went through. In the end, both my wife and I was in tears, on the floor, emotionally drained, at 2am in the morning. Why? Cox we knew how much you deserve this victory! I hope you would have time for a great family life, just as the champion you are. Thank you!

Rafa’s interview was emotional. To me, you could tell how profound this win was and how serious his last few months must have been to get through more than ever. This Gladiator has seen some battles I’m glad he’s on the best side of them today. Keep up the good work Rafa!
What an emotional and inspiring match. It's almost superhuman the way Rafa fought back to win the match, coming from two sets down. It was vintage Rafa in the way he tackled those crucial points, and played one game at a time, refusing to concede. Unbelievable victory. Congrats to him and his team.
Rafa congratulations. u were magnificent today. Best tennis match I have watched in a long time . U were pure magic.Glad u were not playing against Roger. Nadal, djoko, and federer are my all time favourite tennis players, and im sure that were not gonna witness again a battle between 3 iconic players getting the best of each others on court, but man this warrior rafa, what a beast, a fighter, warrior, say whatever u want about him, but his mind set has to be learned in schools and universities, what a champ 🔥
