@waquzy I disagree man, Nadal was weak today compared to the other matches. First couple of games he served well, second set roger just threw away. He didn't return well or have good shot placement
@jfilms6106

@waquzy That's bs. He didn't play as well. I've never seen him lose so many long rallies with Fed and he explained why.
@babaken2002
@babaken2002 5 лет назад
@waquzy He was completely honest; he mentioned being worried about his back hand and that didn't give him the freedom to hit his forehand as good as he wanted. It is all because he was playing Federer that he didn't want to make a mistakes. That shows he respects the quality Fed possesses. Nadal was clear about not returning serves well compared to Fed. I'm a Nadal fan but I have huge respect for Fed. Hope he wins on Sunday.

He seemed anxious out there. Played way too defensive and tight for a lot of the match, except when he entered desperation mode. It still wasn’t a bad effort on his part, Roger just played out of his mind. Hopefully he can bounce back at the US Open and get his nerves on non-clay surfaces against top players under control. One thing’s for sure though: the field is having major trouble even taking sets off him.

The media is just the WORST... Perhaps we should change the strategy and just remove them from the press conference altogether. I think that there should be a live camera to record it and then have the younger tennis players who are coming up to ask them questions. That way the next generation can really learn about what went right for them, what went wrong, what they were feeling and how they handled the moment and situation. We'd probably get some really great insight from the players themselves and then these up-and-comers would learn from them... and so would the public. Half the reason we want to watch the press conferences is to learn from them and be inspired from them. Not some fake or non-relevant news stories that are used as click-bait. It is insane, cause from what I see, as Roger ages, he is becoming even more better and unstoppable at tennis and not having his age catch up; as Nadal ages, he has become way more stronger; and as Novak ages, he has become a stamina machine with power. Like, i feel bad for the new comers or even anyone apart from the big 3! These 3 having been battling for over a decade within themselves and no chance for anyone else. I can't imagine the day when someone becomes the World No.1 and it is not the big 3. Definitely history made then and the longest top 3 to be standing strong. Probably the only sport that has 3 Goats which are debatable. Definitely a blessed era.

Federer long returns in nadals serve were the key of the game and also the swiss capacity of winning long rallys. Nadal didnt play bad is just that federers level was insane... by a nadal fan i hope federer wins this sunday.

Win or lose a class act !! Roger was just better today ! Both GOATS !! So much fun to watch them. When they go it will be boring. Give Rafa ( Roger & Novak) for answering the same questions over & over in really good English. We have baseball players in this country who need a translator!! VAMOS RAFA !! Le Mejor !!

I wonder how we could petition this?

That was a watertight victory by Roger. Sadly, Rafa's review is very precise, more importantly, is honest! So many times they've played, but this one should have surprised Rafa because: 1. Slower condition of the surface often mentioned, which is a favorable setup for Rafa, 2. Age, & 3. Injury-free & combined with these 2points, this time around momentum seemed to mount in favor of Rafa. Roger is crazy!! This conference demonstrates clearly great, unusual dedication to his business, very professional attitude, extraordinary quality in this player, particularly when he Lost!

@jfilms6106
@jfilms6106 5 лет назад
Rafa is old too and had a below average season by his standards on clay after getting back from injuries. Fed had an easier draw than him too and can play a lot of quick points so age doesn't factor in. It's a myth the surface is slower if that was the case then Rafa would be able to return better than he did today.

Can we just say that one match does not define a whole career. Rafa is not simply “claydal” he is one of the greatest ever alongside Novak and roger. People need to stop separating one when they are all unbelievable in different ways and on different days. Today Rafa was 70% in level but against roger or Novak it’s not good enough. Likewise when the others play Rafa and Rafa is on top form
@agentbuizel9875
@agentbuizel9875 5 лет назад
Rafa is one of the best to play on any surface, for sure. Some of the years he had, 2010 to 2013 I think especially, he was incredible across all surfaces. With his injuries it never helped him but he will always be an amazing champion.
@edwardbingley5788
@edwardbingley5788 5 лет назад
AgentBuizel I think that people are always so quick to criticise. Nadal is one of the greatest ever. Not just clay. And it shows that today even on a bad day and when Federer was firing on all cylinders that nadal could still put a good fight. I think he’ll be disappointed because for me he should have beat Novak last year. And I agree that today he was far from his best
@sebulban
@sebulban 5 лет назад
70% ? Please... Rafa was playing great. Roger just took the time away from Rafa and didn’t allow him to settle. 2nd set went to Rafa because of Rogers unforced errors. Overall they both played great

His backhand let him down enormously. No one can beat Federer with a forehand alone. And Federer was in God-mode for the majority of the match. Well deserved win for the Fed Express.

Rafa played so defensively today except the last game. And what is this obsession of staying so far from baseline even on 2nd serve. It only works against other players not against Djokovic & Federer. Coaching team needs to look into it. Can someone get my message to Rafa directly. I'm struggling to reach to Rafa.

Wrong analysis! Rafa is one of the best tactical players of the game. There was a graph showing that Rafa stepped back a feet, for Roger's second serve in the 2nd set, it gave him more time to attack...it paid dividends and he won the set. Very rarely does Rafa lose a game because of wrong tactics, he addresses it immediately. There are many things we don't notice.
