Every time I watch this I get so emotional and proud. My mum is the redhead and the last time she ever sang with her brother was this. It's so hard to watch but so beautiful xx
🥀Beautiful Song Brilliant lyrics, vocals and music with meaning of unconditional love within! I bought Gerry Raferty album back in the 70s or mid 80s and I've always loved his song's. He was such a beautiful person to write song's like all the ones I've heard. God Bless you 🥀✌🥀☝️
By listening to Gerry's songs, you can tell how much emotion, perfection and feeling he put into his songs. I play Gerry almost every day....collection of his CDs in my car & always listening to music in my house. I would have loved to have met him. Brilliant music is timeless. Rest in peace sir.
Overwhelmingly sweet and beautiful. The past day or so, I've been learning about Gerry Rafferty's career and listening to all of the songs that I never heard before. This tribute is so wonderfully touching. I don't suppose there is sheet music for the vocals available, is there?
In the late 70’s, I bought both LP’s for City to City and Night Owl because I loved to listen to Gerry Rafferty sing. My favourite songs of course were Baker Street, Night Owl and Family Tree. My wife of 51 years passed away Sept 27th of this year. On You Tube I came across this song sung by Gerry’s family. This rendition touched me even more because it was his family singing it and it is what my family and I are going through right now- MEMORIES if my wife. R.I.P. Elaine
Ken Kort may you find confort in your heart. I am 61 and been listening to Gerry Rafferty since 1974 when he was a part of Steelers Wheel. Your Elaine is in the arms of the angels.
This is possibly the only song that I have heard that has the same effect on me every time I hear (and see it ) sung by the family, there are many people here in Australia and around the world that share the pain of the loss of Gerry Rafferty far too early.
Watching these clips just reinforces what a respected musician and person Gerry must have been. I love his music and it will live on for a long time to come.
Yes it's melancholy yes it's beautiful 😍 love Gerry rafferty I listened to this album over and over whilst suffering severe homesickness it was comforting in some strange way thanks Gerry ❤️
Very Touching to see the family sing this song!,Just listening to the words one can get a very large sence of depth in this song!.Gerry was a wonderful writer/composer..His Music meant so much to many and will for a very long time! !..)
I cry like a fuckin baby every time I hear this song (I'm a 47 year old man) it just makes me sad for Gerry and his family because he ultimately let the alcohol win, or the alcohol beat him, beautiful song.
A friend brought City to City to a party about 1978, once heard I was hooked on this incredible talent. Night Owl was of course bought immediately. 8 track tape!
Tonight our light will shine.... if ever we needed light to shine it's now. I have so much respect for you all singing this at the memorial concert for Gerry Rafferty. RIP Gerry - much missed.
