Thanks for posting this video I'm sure it's a real pain. Planning on doing this job to a all original low mileage 76 Gran Torino which is virtually the same car I don't want to remove the column if not necessary and you prove that so thanks for posting this.😁👍
That is a very good catch, I was in the mind set that that is what those smooth pins are for. But those are useless if that cage isn't keeping the steering shaft centered enough. I will make a follow up video of me reinstalling that cage! eventually....
Is your replacement part a Lares 203? A reviewer on O'Reilly says that this part didn't fit his 1977 Bird. I need to change mine and would like to know. Thanks.
I just went and double checked the Lares 203 is the part in the video. I know this to be true as I have never heard of Lares until I replaced this part. Good Luck!
