The applause is added later by the person who has uploaded this audio. The original recording available with HMV does not have the applause. Moreover the hall sound effect is also added to make the story sound authentic. One should abstain from modifying a masterpiece like this, which is widely available in different media form. I myself still possess a cassette recording of the same - minus the added applause and the sound effect.

@@RagaMalaI too am curious about the applause. Perhaps HMV had the sound track that was recorded in an isolated soundproof room to prevent the audience noise being recorded? Like I said, I am curious, please don't get mad at me!
