Ragging destroys a person's self confidence and modesty. It's just like insulting an unknown person in public. Senior students don't even bear any expenses of the juniors then nobody gives them a right to insult anyone. For helping someone one doesn't need to destroy a person's self respect.

Anti-ragging movements should be initiated by the institutions right from the time of advertisement for admissions. It's disheartening to hear that despite so many anti-ragging movements we're still facing the issue. It not only degrades the dignity of this service but also the respect one has for his seniors/institution. It severely affects the mental health of students as well as their self confidence, it hinders their growth as an individual. There's no such thing as "healthy ragging". Students often give in due to peer pressure and to avoid unwanted conflicts. Please stop such nonsense, we already have more problems to deal with; let's not make it harder to live than it already is.

Such a disappointment to see such cheap acts prevalent among the intelligent youth of aiims delhi. It should be declared that ragging is clearly an act of harrasment and should not be encouraged as a means of interaction with seniors. Other healthy means of interaction should be developed instead of committing to such dirty and cheap acts. This can have a serious impact on the perception of the students as well as aspirants who are going to be future doctors.

I expected the hardest college to get into in India to have better standards. Is this what the top students of our county do?? Ragging is now no longer physical... but still it's not as funny and jolly as they show in movies such as chhichhore and 3 idiots (don't fall for that trap)... Although majority of seniors don't indulge in such sort of things, there will be some seniors who will try to humiliate you in every possible way (verbally, mentally)... it is a really traumatising experience... people follow it as a ritual which must be stopped... at least, if you can't change the whole system, do dare to take stand for yourself if the limit is crossed... you will never regret it... you have come alone in this world and you entered that medical college due to your own effort and God's will... stay hard

"Ragging" is just wrong. Be it harsh or healthy or in any scale. Doctor is such a HUMBLE profession and it's quite IRONIC that mbbs students are doing this to their juniors. Bhai baaki colleges me ragging hota hai that is believable (it doesn't make it right though) lekin MBBS students ragging kar rahe hai....jo jaan bachane keliye parh rahe hai unko baakiyo ko anxiety dena hai??? Zyada irony nahi hai bhaisaab. I understand some colleges have seniors who just want to "teach" their juniors some shit but it's still condescending from their side. Their intentions are to act superior at the end of the day. They have no idea how their "ragging" can affect a fresher's mentality.

These things are totally ban in india. Whether physical ragging or mental ragging. If anyone facing these problem you can approach to administration of that college. They will take strict actions against those seniors. And minimum punishment is authority will suspend the senior for 1 year.

I'm a South Indian from Bangalore....and I'm not that much comfortable speaking in Hindi....virtually Hindi m mssg kerna to atha h per baat kerna nhi atha ache se...and I'm kinda introvert.... Is aiims Delhi still safe for me?....as I heard that there are no restrictions there...

Hey, if you get AIIMS New Delhi then you won't even notice anything else. It's in the capital, and then there are good amount of seniors to help. You can even seek help from other students who live in Delhi(as I said, if you get AIIMS New Delhi then you would be famous and people will sure help you). Don't worry about such things, we are in 21st century be strong.

AIIMS mei healthy ragging hoti hai! Ragging is a crime. So many students commit suicide and go back home. Shame on senior students if AIIMs. I thought this was supposed to be the premiere medical institute of India.

हालांकि हास्टल लाइफ जीने मे बहुत मज़ा आता है और बराबर के मित्रों के साथ हास्टल मे रहते समय बहुत कुछ सीखने को मिलता है वो लगता है थोड़ा सा कि घर में हमे किसी ने कोई काम नहीं बताया पढ़ाई करते समय but कॉलेज में अपने सीनियर कुछ ना कुछ काम बताते है तो थोड़ा सा odd लगता है बाद में सब नॉर्मल हो जाता है और फिर मुसीबत में सीनियर्स ही देव दूत के रूप हमारी हेल्प करते हैं.... . MBBS complete करने के बाद मे कॉलेज लाइफ की यादे रह जाती है......

It is a serious crime and destroy the confidence of the individual and in mamy cases pushes one to commit suicide. Govt must take serious note of this amd act quickly by punisjing amy one who is involved in harassing juniors..In mamy cases juniors have been asked to forcibly drink alcohol & even Drugs in central institutes and Govt can not be washing of its hands.
