At NCI, we believe that Food has the power to heal, which makes Nutrition an important part of cancer treatment. Cancer diet, in a nutshell, is eating the right kinds of foods during and after treatment, that help the patient feel better and stay stronger throughout their Cancer journey. Sometimes the side effects of cancer treatment can cause a person to eat less and lose weight.
However, losing weight without trying can make them weak and malnourished. Hence, it is very very important that Cancer patients maintain healthy body weight and eat nutritious foods.

Ragi Dates Laddoo is packed with nutrients and includes all the food groups in one meal. The recipe is quick and easy to make. Most importantly all the ingredients are readily available in Indian households.
Serving Size: 1-2 pieces
Ingredients:
Dates/ Honey - 50 gms
Groundnut Crushed - 15gms
Flax Seed Powder/ Aliv - 5 gms
Ragi Flour (Roasted) - 25 gms
Rolled Oats - 10 gms
Dry Coconut - 15 gms
Ghee - 5gms
Instructions:
1. In a pan, take ragi flour and lightly roast it for 10 minutes and keep it aside.
2. Add ghee to the pan and roast oats, sesame seeds, dry coconut, groundnut powder, and flax seeds/aliv. You can also add sunflower seeds, melon seeds, or pumpkin seeds.
3. Mix all these ingredients with dates/honey really nice to form a tight dough.
4. Make small balls of the mixture.
5. Now, roll these laddoos in dry coconut powder for garnishing and ready to serve.
This makes a really filling and nutritious snack time meal.
