0:46 I believe the solo automa in this game originally came from Gaia Project - it was developed there first - but then they retroactively took it and translated it back for Terra Mystica. In fact, there was a time when a lot of people thought that Terra Mystica was an afterthought because Gaia Project, with more features - and a seemingly more integrated game, including a solo automa mode - was out for Gaia Project. Then the Merchant of the Seas expansion came out, reminding people that the publisher still values Terra Mystica and hasn’t forgotten about it, even though Gaia Project was out. Then they adapted the solo automa for Terra Mystica, too.

As a 27 year old man, star bellies sneeches was such a crazy reference, I love it!!

At 38:25 the catch-up rule, line II applies instead of III. "Track where automa marker is nearest to your marker." On the wind track the player is above the automa , so the automa should have placed it's priest on the wind track (rightmost) thus surpassing the player.

There are some homemade rules for 2 players on Bgg. We used the one that shrinks the map covering some zones (all the right and some top right if I'm not wrong). But the automa seems way better. It shrinks the map, add a third player, and some randomness. I love some randmoness

21:19 In this instance, you got 1 power for free. Sometimes you would be able to choose to get more than 1 power (say 2 power), but you would need to sacrifice 2-1=1 victory power to do so - and it is take all of it (the power) or leave it - in other words, you wouldn’t be able to gain only 1 power in my example.

Ah… Too bad there wasn’t an Extended Runthrough for this one. It would have been nice to see how some of the other automa factions play!
